auto face target. is their a button for that?

I just started to play lotro again after about 2 months and i noticed there is now a auto face target action. i searched the forum and google about it and found a number of people requesting a auto face target option. i checked the settings but could not actually find a option for auto face target. yes i have found that it is nice in some occasions but is there a option somewhere to turn it on and off?

Yes. Its default key-binding is X.

The "X" (default) key toggles (on/off) the camera locking onto whatever is targetted allowing the character to turn or move any which way and still see the target.

There is also a way to set your combat options to have you face your target, but I think that might have been around awhile.

there is no /face in the traditional sense.

there is a "move to target" option that effectivly faces the target because you auto-follow them. i HATE this option and have had it off since the 10s i tested it, years ago. I think this option is "smart" in that it will /face targets when using ranged attacks and run up to them when using melee skills.

this is an all or nothing toggle and I do not know if you can set it to a hotkey for a "button."

the carmera lock-on with teh "x" button is just the camera, from my testing, and does not turn your character.... unless i was *that* high when i tested it.

Re: auto face target. is their a button for that?

i also tend to have a problem with lotro combat and the auto-face target option. this is the option in the combat menu of the options screen i think. im quite sure i fill find a comfortable solution in the next few weeeks but right now it is a small problem.

basically, whenenver a target is selected for attack and often when the target circle is red, my melee character will just sit and not move to melee range. i have to actually click the big attack button, click on the target or cast an attack spell before my character will move to melee range and strike at the target. sometimes even whenthe character is right next to a target which has just gone red on the target circle, my character still will not take the first blow unless I double click the target or cast a spell.

im not sure whether this is because there is some sort of initiative roll to see who attacks first. but for about 2 seconds my character is standing there doing nothing. it may just be something which I can get used ( it is small problem only), but certainly other mmos' combat is a bit smoother. Even DDO (Turbine's DnD mmo) is smoother.

it doesn't really bother me. I suspect there is something I need to click or do. It really is just a small problem.
