Monthly TP bonus vs TP Bundles
I saw the new bundles deals- really who has $200 to blow on TP?
I'm a lifer- so I'm not 100% of what the offerings are... but I'd like to see the monthly fee have a bigger return.
12 month specail for $100 ~ 500/mo or 6000TP (over the course of the year)
12 month normal for $15/mo ~ 500/mo or 6000TP
What about
12 month for $20/mo ~ 1000TP/mo, etc
The issue is that when you purchase a chunk... it's too easy to say $50-200 is easily another game or four plus. If you really want my dime... it's best to take it a little at a time... and make it worth my while to spend. A little I can budget... (bad economy for most still).Last edited by Ornaith; Apr 26 2012 at 07:40 PM.

$200 used to buy a lifetime account. Now, it only gets you 23k TP... How long will that even last? I'm sure an average player could burn through it all in less than a year. Kind of ridiculous. That should at least include a year of VIP along with it.

Re: Monthly TP bonus vs TP Bundles
23k tp will easily (without sales) buy you everything that's rented with VIP apart from freep moors access.
Keep in mind that content purchased is permanently available, whether you continue to spend money or not.

There are customers like this. If you read some of the financial background for Zynga with their games, they try to provide compelling store items to appeal to their rich customers which they classify as the folks that spend 100 thousand dollars or more a year on their products. Sounds crazy. Apparently these folks do exist. I have a friend that has a monthly gaming / entertainment budget of 500 dollars a month. He didn't have any issue buying a bunch of Turbine Points and paying for a character transfer to Meneldor. He spending dollars on some other games at the same time.
These folks have a completely different life style than Yula. I can understand my buddy with a family income of over 100k a year having a 6,000 dollar personal entertainment budget. That is 6% of the gross income. The 100,000 on Zynga face book that is a lot of money to me.Last edited by Yula_the_Mighty; Apr 29 2012 at 08:39 PM.

Re: Monthly TP bonus vs TP Bundles
People with good paying jobs.
They didn't remove any of the lower priced options. Those are still available as well. There are lots of different options of how to pay for the game (including even the option to not pay any money at all). Some options appeal to those who can pay a little at a time on a regular basis; others appeal to those who can afford to pay in larger chunks but only sporadically. They've recently added a good option for those who can afford a significant amount at once. The fact that that isn't everybody is irrelevant. It's not intended to target everybody. None of the options do.
Not everyone wants their payments spread out continuously. Many of us like being able to make a single large purchase which we then don't have to deal with month after month. I find that much easier to budget for, as it's a simple question of "do I have this much money available right now" without having to consider what I'm likely to have available at other times.
The $200 TP package is essentially the same as the Lifetime Subscription package back when that was offered. Either offer the option to pay a large up-front sum to secure content that you don't then need to pay for every month afterwards.
I already have two lifetime subscriptions as well as all expansions for both of them. But then again, I've also spent five years playing this game, so I've gotten far more from it than any other game I've bought (all too many of which only kept me entertained for a few days). As someone with a good amount of disposable income and who has gotten a great deal out of this game, spending some money on it occasionally isn't a bad deal (provided I don't have to do so all the time).
So personally, although I probably won't be paying $200 at the regular rate, the next time they offer a double- or triple-bonus-point special I may well decide it's time to drop another couple hundred on the game, as the new $200 option gives the best price per point.Last edited by Niwashi; Apr 30 2012 at 02:53 PM.

Not according to Turbine. A VIP membership is worth over $300!
