    Runekeeper leveling guide?

    Hi everyone,

I just started my third character - a runekeeper elf - and I was wondering what a good leveling strategy might be? He is going to provide resources for my other two characters, so basically I just want to level as fast as possible to Dunland. I've never really thought about leveling strategies before, so I would like to see what your thoughts are, given that I just want to level my crafting (and no, I won't waste money on the AH).

    Thanks!

    Re: Runekeeper leveling guide?

What is your crafting profession? It does make a difference.

    I've found there are a few tricks to fast levelling;

    1) Make sure your doing quests above your level, I've settled around 3 above, which seems to be a nice balance between the extra rewards and not dying. However its an individual thing depending both on your skills and what crafted gear and consumables you can get from your current characters.

    2) Focus on quest hubs where you get multiple overlapping quests.

    3) Be efficient, I was a fire traited RK, which meant I had semi decent AOE. Its more difficult, and you get through a lot more potions, but pulling 2-3 mobs and AOEing them down will speed you up. With lightning you need to keep moving, not letting your attunement drop between fights. Again this will require cooked food and power potions.

My levelling route of choice for a speed level (as opposed to my current choice of maximising quest deeds to lessen the virtue grind when I get to 75 is), would be as follows, moving onto the next point when you think you can handle the content without dying.

    1) Starter area
    2) Breeland - Old forest (QH buckland) --> North Barrow Downs (QH edge of the forest) --> South Barrow Downs (QH dead mans perch)
    3) Lonelands - QH Inn of Forsaken --> QH Minas Eriol (?) --> Ost Guruth.
    4) Evendim --> Northcotton --> glass blower --> big statue --> Tindurr ruins --> Tombs --> Evenspires (stopping after the guardain)
    5) (Forochel): The first quest Hub
    6) Angmar: Earthkin Camp --> Aughire
    7) Be annoyed at lack of decent quest hubs, suck it up, do the epic quest so you can get past the statues. Gabilshathur
    8) Erigon - Gwinris --> echad erigion - Echad Duann
    9) Moria --> Dolven View --> Deep decent --> crossroads --> Water works --> redhorn lodes <--> flaming deeps
    10) Endewaith
    11) DUNLAND!

If crafting is your aim, make sure you keep up with it so you can harvest nodes as you level. My RK out levelled my crafting, and I ended up going back to the expert level branches once I hit 75, grinding it up from there is very dull. Not too bad if you just want the materials as you can just get proficiency for every level.

Thanks for the reply 00CloughRN, that was useful information. I am an explorer looking for wood and hides by the way. I'll copy your leveling route and see how it goes!

For a forester you want to be spending more time in woods where branch nodes are denser /slaying animals for hide. Also remember there is no wood in Forochel.

Also, keep in mind that if you are aiming for mastery (it sounds like you are tailor) in each of the lvls, that you will be grinding for hides regardless what you do. There will not be enough hides gained , for most tiers, during the course of leveling (especially if you are in a hurry to level). So waiting on the hides and comming back to lower levels to "farm" them will save you a ton of time vs farming them at level.
