    Leveling a Lore Master

    Hi LM forums

I have a level 20 loremaster, and was considering leveling him up for end game raiding, but I get tired of the same old same old questing from leveling an alt. I was wondering what you guys consider to be the fastest/most fun way of leveling up a loremaster.

    Thanks!

Probably do quests way over your level. you get a LOT of exp for it. at 34 I remember handing in some rivendell quests and getting 3,000 for each. In a few levels the mass oat barton farm quests could probably net you like 4 levels in 5 hours ( least took me 4 but I kept getting lost XD)

If your more for just speed leveling and don't mind spending TP on task resets or boring back and forth clicking. have a main kill mass beasts and send lots of stacks to the lore and have them just turn them in over and over.

Tho speed training a lore is probably just as bad as speed leveling a warden the moves take a while to get used to so the 2nd option probably isn't the best idea.

For end game raiding I don't think leveling up quick is going to happen unless you play *alot*. Not only do you need to level up but you have to work on traits/virtues also. So for an LM that means alot of discovery deeds.

I took my LM to around 30 with the F2P content and then added North Downs (ok, not great) and Evindim (awesome). Was 42 by the time I finished evindim. After that did Trollshaws/Misty (ok), Angmar (not my cup of tea, but good leveling), Forochel (kinda liked it), and now I'm in Eregion. When I get tired of the same old quests I just go back to old regions and complete deeds for a while.

    Re: Leveling a Lore Master

From my experience, levelling is best done by doing regular quests (over level pays more XP) and the epic quest line. Run as many as you can in a day. Move to the next zone as early as possible.

But as previous posters already said, having level 75 doesn't make you endgame ready. Once you're 75, work on your virtues. Discovery deeds tend to go very quickly when you're over level and don't aggro things around you. Slayer deeds go so much faster when you outlevel the mobs by 10 levels. Run the instances / dailies to get the good gear.

Yea, I understand all of the things needed for end game raiding :P (did all the virtue deeds on my hunter), but thanks for the tips for different areas. I hadn't done Forochel at all and barely any Angmar on my hunter so I'll check those out once I'm on level.

    My .02.....

If your just after fastest and you understand as you indicated the deeds/virtues, etc then running the Epics in the orange and red levels with the odd other quest chain tossed in if they are in the same area. Anything white or below is a time waster. This does require purp/teal gear and no lessthan 3 levels below yours.

If you are not used to being squishie and CCing the mobs though, you may find the LM a bit frustraiting. Running into 3 orange mobs and yelling BOO at them isn't gonna work out to well. I have done this on my RK alt, but it is so similiar in most ways to a LM, just more sturdier, it has not been an issue.

My method of "speed leveling" probably isn't as fast as the others who put forth their methods here, but I find it less frustrating and it can fill out your crafting, virtues, and wallet as you go. What I tend to do is play quests roughly 1 level above me (with alts and friends it is easy to keep my toons well geared with crafted items) and do them en masse. I run through an area in overlapped circular patterns, trying to do as many quests in parallel as I can (my favorite quests overlap: quest 1 is kill 10 wargs, quest 2 is collect 8 warg feet, quest 3 is kill 8 orcs + 8 wargs, etc).

If you really want to power level I would actually recommend running skirmishes on level. Cycle through the available list until your eyeballs fall out.

Whilst I sort of disagree with that, as at endgame the vast quantities of stat items (especially will) make and extra 30odd for deeds pretty much irrelevant...

...discovery/exploration deeds are pretty quick and easy compared to slayer deeds. Levelled up you can just ride around the maps, past uncaring grey mobs, getting the explore points, which will be quicker and easier than all but the earliest slayer deeds.

Personally, I run morale & mitigations on my Loremaster. I am close on 2000 will (and over that with cappy/mini buffs), have capped outgoing healing @ 50% and have over 100% outgoing tac damage. I therefore choose additional survivability over a few more points of will. This helps greatly when you suddenly find you gotta off tank something or get caught in a bit of stray enemy aoe.

Of course this means grinding out slayer deeds... zeal on an lm is a nightmare*

Having recently capped a burg, I'd have to say that slayers on a LM is easy-mode. With a burg, you have to fight everything in melee range, one-by-one. With a LM, you have range, AOEs and pets.

Of course, slayers on any class just plain sucks, but that's another issue.

Back to the OP, I think the least boring thing would be to do orange quests with friends. That makes it go faster and feel less tedious than anything else.

Yeah, waiting for mob respawns is boring. And sometimes you actually have to cast spells. It's HORRIBLE.

Much better to find some people to hang out with so you can chatter all evening and try to convince them that they're actually helping.

    Re: Leveling a Lore Master

I've found a mixture of questing, skirmishing and instances has kept me coming back to my LM rather than my other alts. She is in high demand with my kin for group runs in Moria instances but I make sure she doesn't get too much time doing instances. I find that variety is the best way to keep it interesting. If you're in a kin that knows what a good LM can do you should have no trouble finding folks to run with or solo if you like for questing. Either can be fun, it just depends on what you like to do.
