how important is it to clear each area's quests?

I seem to be getting a mix of shire, bree and now somewhere else area quests at the same time. I end up with quests that span about 15 levels. Am I supposed to only complete ALL of the shire one and selectively other areas? Or all quests from all areas? or what? I'm level 15 at the moment and getting quests from lvl 5 up to 20. Just want to know if I should be ignoring some or not? I don't want to miss out on possible items/skills but struggling to keep up the lower level clear enough to do quests at my level. Ta

You shouldn't worry too much about completing all quests.

There are deeds that relate to the number of quests you complete in each area, but apart from that, there is not much to force you to complete those quests unless you do it for fun (to know the stories and so forth).

The Epic Story, on the other hand despite not being mandatory it is highly recomended because it's extremely well done, provides the best rewards and has one of the best stories I have seen.

Deeds and Epic Story (which has its own deeds) appart, you should be fine skipping some quests.

In my experience, each race's starter areas will generally get them to about 15. Then, their paths generally meet up around Bree.

So, if you're already 15+, it's not important to go do the lvl 5-15 quests in Archet, Lindon or Thorin's Hall. Though, those would be the easiest quests to do, if you want to get those deeds for some extra TP.

Personally, I do all quests every time I go through area. You get something from all of them - some award XP, other Reputation, yet other some extra silver, other count towards deed that award Virtues and TP etc.

Two reasons why you would compelte quests in other starter areas beyond that of your race: 1) you enjoy questing and want to see what other areas have to offer or 2) you want to complete the quest deeds for the virtue bonuses.

Re: how important is it to clear each area's quests?

As stated, it's not really important to complete ALL quests in an area. But it can be fun to do them to help explore the place.

Don't worry about doing quests that are Orange to you, as these will most likely be too high level
Best doing quests in the Blue - White - Yellow range.
Green and Grey quests are below your level and can be dismissed if you wish.

But do, at least, attempt to do the Epic Story line Quests. As long as they are in your level range

Dont forget to visit your trainer every so often, usually on even number levels, to get new skills

    Another tip:

For the quests you have, have a look at them read about where they are.
Most quests are grouped so you dont have to keep going back to the same spot.

Nothing worse than killing a load of wolves, going back to hand in, and then seeing a quest in your log to kill the boss wolf

Re: how important is it to clear each area's quests?

As lucanthanas says, not very. Deeds available to score so-many quests in each area, but even the third deed usually stops far short of 'clearance'. Epic quests gives the best quest gear, so not much to miss out on from skipping non-epic quests apart from storyline.

It is a sensisible tactic to keep two areas at about the same level on the go at the same time. More than two and you will be hitting your number of quests limit. By having two, if you get stuck in one area, you can level up a bit more by questing in the other area and then go back and clear the first. Similiarly, it is a good idea to 'tidy up' an area you are about to leave, by either completing or abandoning undone quests in that area, so you have free quests slots to use in the next area.

    3) Reputation. Although for gear, it's true that the best quest gear comes from Epic quests (and in many cases, good crafted gear beats that), many of the regular landscape quests offer reputation as a reward. What's more, it's not always obvious which ones, since often a quest chain starts with a quest giving fairly minimal rewards but it leads to a follow-up quest that offers a reputation reward.

It's largely a matter of personal preference how many quests you choose to complete. I've found it works easier to focus on a specific area at a time, though. I've explained why in another recent thread, so I'll just link to my post there.
