Perhaps it would be best if we all let this thread end at this point? We all seem to have moved from discussion into a more hostile type of debate. For or against, I don't like the idea of people being this cruel toward each other when talking about something that should be fun for all of us.
Thank you Eukwen. I was rather appalled to see the degeneration of this thread into the hostility, all-cap shouting, and attacking people rather than debating ideas. The posters here are, after all, arguing about an individual's right to show a cartoon drawing of the bare knees of an imaginary creature on a computer screen. Kind of pales in comparison to the rest of the world's problems, doesn't it?
Personally, I won't be showing more skin in game if it becomes an option--I get enough gross comments from the 14-year-olds when I wear one of the low-cut dresses in the game, and I have no desire to experience the results of showing more of my cartoon skin. I'll stick with my armor in most cases. Plus, my personal vision of what Middle-earth would look like from my own interpretation of the books is pretty close to what Turbine has provided for us already. But those are my personal opinions, and I really don't think that people who agree or disagree should be the target of hostility for expressing their thoughts, if expressed respectfully.
I also remember how he described the cake heads and the you-in-a-box outfits, the fire work horses and the legendary weapons. It was a great idea to stay so close to the books, but maybe it's time to invent something modern.
/sarcasm off
TBH ... I would like to see less "short skirts" in the game. It's hard to find good pants in the game without a armored mini skirt protecting the crown jewels. I know I know, it fits the lore and blah blah. But if you don't like that kindd of outfit, it's really hard to find something good looking.
Perhaps I could fuel the flames of this thread a bit more by pointing out that male avatars can wear exactly the same stuff as female avatars can (another absurd decision by Turbine). Do we really want to see male avatars walking around with low cut tops and skirts? Aren't the dresses bad enough?

The neo-goth steam punk period. My dwarf minstrel would look stunning in it!
You would never get hit. Every orc and goblin attacking you would stop and look at you with a W.T.F look on his face.

Since the development of the game the female char's breast have gotten bigger and bigger. It is absolutely ridiculous on a hobbit and that should be taken care of because it looks like they have directional finders. As for the other females in the game: Please some increasing the size of their breasts and I would consider it a real nicety if you would allow us the options to have small small appendages on our chests as opposed to mega-large-ain't-no-way-to-get-those-into-any-armor. Please.

If anything, I am upset by the dimension of the female breast area. It looks more like the man's pectorals were 'jutted' out for the femals to make 'boobs'. I would like to see more rounded and shapely, and yes, sizable breasts for females. I would also like to see armor more custom fitted to support the shapier regions.
People like options.
More hair, more faces, more eyes, more eye colors, more hair colors, more facial features (scars and tats would be nice), I would also like more 'ear' options. Pointier, longer, set out, pulled in, long short (and no, I am not thinking WoW..I hate that game).
Also, I would like a 'starting armor' look to be customizable as well. Have a few starting armors that still have the same stats, but look different, like a huntsman's outfit, or a tabard, or a dress, or a robe...just something to diversify the way we 'appear' when we log in.
I'm sticking up for the guy who said that seeing body doesn't make you an adult, it's just for adults because it's not for little kids to see. Obviously, someone just hit puberty. Just Google it. Trust me, it's 100% better than skimpy clothing in MMORPGs.
If you MUST see it in MMORPGs, go play Conan.
Riddermark toons:
Hafwit - 29 Dwarf Minstrel, Riddermark, Legends of Numenor
Lothreth - 15 Female Captain, Riddermark, Area Fifty-One

Or failing that, as suggested upthread, subscribe to Playboy and/or Victoria's Secret.
