I've been gone quite awhile I just got tired of logging in to be bored, it kind of defeats the purpose. Has PVMP improved in say the last year? New zone, new classes, new trees even, anything at all?

Well, I didn't pvp much back when you were active, but I can say that Turbine has not changed much. No new zone, no new classes, no changes to the scenery. They did, however, make three fairly significant changes recently that have had a pretty big impact on pvp play. First, they removed stat caps from freeps with the launch of RoI. This created some pretty tremendous balance issues for a while where freeps were generally OP due to the crazy increases to DPS that they could achieve with uncapped stats, and creep mits / heals / dps just not keeping up. This was partially addressed (though not completely) with buffs to wargs and spiders with U6, but I think it is safe to say that there are still some balance issues to be worked out.
Second, Turbine has allowed creeps to buy all rank-related skills from the store, so you will now see rank 1 wargs running around in shadow howler and the vast majority of BAs sporting VT and revenge. I'm actually glad they did this cause if they didn't freeps would be even more OP, but you asked about differences and this is a pretty significant one.
Third, with U6 Turbine revamped the rewards currency in the Moors, phasing out destiny points, and they added a new pvp-only stat called audacity. The intent of this, I think, was to allow Turbine to continue to buff freep pve sets without having to worry about how it would balance in pvp. Not sure yet if they achieved this, but audacity is certainly a vital stat now in the moors. A player with max audacity takes 30% less damage, has -50% on CC duration, uses 30% less power than a player with zero audacity. The result of this new stat is kind of up in the air atm as not that many people have max audacity. My guess is that it will favor freeps again as healing HPS has not been changed and freep healing is generally > creep healing (if, that is, you can get the minnies out of warspeech and the RK traited to heal), but the jury is still out.
Hope that helps, and hope to see you in-game again soon.
I don't know when the bird was implemented but that's newish.
As a soloer you'll die often. There are so many wargs now it's ridiculous. The hunter class is not very interesting to play in the moors, pretty boring either destroying creeps or being destroyed. That's why I retired my hunter, my capt is more interesting, more fair, and more of a challenge for everyone involved.
Still, I hope to see you out there, I definitely recommend giving it a try, you might enjoy it.
I myself have lost interest due to lack of freeps respect of creeps, Im seeing low ranks getting zerged by freep raids while questing...just send in one guy, aint that hard. Im seeing freeps target and healing way too much over unorganized creeps, people get spam slowed, stunlocked, rooted, feared w/e, for me its more of a waste of time, freeps will mock you and push you all the way to grams, you push back and they will run for the hills to Lugz, return with NPCs etc... Some classes are so OP it aint even worth trying.
some people will say its PvP, but when a group has gotten all the way up to TR flag room and is kinda halfways into taking it, a freep zerg 2/3 times the size comes in, blowing everyone up and leaves...thats the PvP people want? why not wait outside or something so the group is ready for an attack? same with isendeep, freeps come in, boom. I see no current point in playing creepside as there is nothing to gain by it when each and every guard/champ will bubble & run away. Minis will heal and run away, even when 1v1.
If PvP is 6v12, 3v6 or even better if PvP is wait to the group got as many npcs on themself as possible I'd say its low.
I am pretty sure people can replace the use of the word "freeps" with creeps here. Ive never stated otherwise. I thought it was fun when I started PvMPing, getting r8 and all that, now It's just another hazzel.
Yes its a PvP zone, yes its Freeps vs Creeps, yes I know, but what is good PvP?
I dont want to be a crybaby, Im saying my opinion, In many ways PvMP has gotten better and worse.
Im mostly a creep so im onesided, but im pretty sure its the same for both sides.
anyways, happy Anniversary everyone, catch ya on creepside. dead or alive
Tingur you're basically complaining because there is no leadership... Unorganized groups just need leadership.
And to replace the word creeps with freeps..
Your lack of respect comment goes both ways. Any creep raid would run down a below 75 freep, a solo freep, a low ranked freep, etc.
Wargs always hips/sprint from me, many reavers use dying rage, uruk heal is always used, evade and run away is used, and almost every spider burrows.
The moors have always been like this, it is up to the player to change things. If that means playing a different class then do that, if it means switching sides then do that, if it means seen how low your rating can go and then trying to get back up then do that.... You get the idea. However, don't expect others to embrace this idea because many people simply enjoy trampling others over for the sake of their ego.
You'll get into it again, just like I'm sure I will on my hunt.
I've been gone quite awhile I just got tired of logging in to be bored, it kind of defeats the purpose. Has PVMP improved in say the last year? New zone, new classes, new trees even, anything at all?
Wow there's a name I haven't seen for a long time! No easy way to answer your question. There's no new map but creeps and freeps have new skills since the level cap increase. It's easier to get pvp gear on freep side now since the sets had rank requirements removed. The new Audacity stat is nice if you have the patience to grind for it. Thanks to the new commendation system, it seems like more people prefer to pve or either zerg the other side til they rage log. There's too much lag in raid vs raid fights so some people are opting for small groups or solo. Just my observations . I guess you would have to log in and try it out to judge whether pvp is better or not.
I see no current point in playing creepside as there is nothing to gain by it when each and every guard/champ will bubble & run away.
Which is why I play a hunter. You either kill, or get killed. Or attempt to run away from a really poor creep (Bad idea). There's no "Oh #### I'm gonna die, *Click* boom insta life*" it adds balance, and a challenge.
I have a noob rune keeper and a champ that only tanks. Suck it.

hunters must be the most challenging freep class atm, Ive only tested a hunter in the moors on Bullroarer, love dazing blow <3
Sorry Uiphor. You no longer have the highest renown. I only respect people by how much renown they have. You're lucky that I'm even talking to you.
If you really want to find out how things are you can make a free2play creep (reaver) and stomp around the moors a bit. You will die tons since (frea)vers are basically free renown, but over all you'll get a good picture of how things are.

LOL sadly the stupid pointless bird is the only thing they added scenery wise. The delving has been made irrelevant for creeps now, so none go there except a few dumb wargs that like to get stomped by hawkfood.

Whats your caps name Fendrone?
Feradrene. Still gearing of course since I'm slow but I'm bringing her out when I get the chance.
Go 1v1 a high ranked War Leader, and tell me if there's no challenge
Yea...you couldn't kill them back in the day and you can't kill em now even if you had beer bottles and folding chairs!
To the OP....it ain't pvp like we knew back in the day. Mostly unorganized small grps and solo'rs. On occasion both sides get rolling but it seems to me very coordinated...nothing spontaneous and current, cough-cough, raid leaders have no imagination. They'd rather coordinate fights over vent so they don't have to look for each other.

If you dont like it Val, then why dont you do something about it and lead freep raids. I hear you used to do it quite a bit.

Come on Deltron...you know you don't want that to happen. All you elite, cough cough, PVP'rs would have to go out and earn your renoun, infamy, rank....no more easy mode. You'd actually have to learn how to play your class...in a group...contributing to a team.....OMG what a concept!
You and your bubba's would have to go back loggin in during the whee hours of the morning while the rest of gladden sleeps farming each other at the rez circles like you use to do back in the day.....nowadays they call it "1v1".
Catch you later,
Val

The day you actually use stun immunity in your pvp raids is they day I'll believe you actually said this Val. As Gunnor would say... hipocracy knows no bounds.
Besides Val, how was camping Grams every night not considered 'farming' back in the day? That is what you were known for. Camping Grams. 24v10 really takes effort I guess. When things got too hard many freeps cried and left. No more excuses Val. PvP can still be fun but these days may actually take some work. Using a class skill like SI can be the first step to a better tommorrow. No more easy farming Val.

PS> keep the hate
When you come out of war speech and learn to acutally heal a raid and play your class then you can tell me how to play mine....Bolster Courage > Soliloquy of Spirit btw.
Carry on!

The day you stay out in the Moors leading a raid of freeps against a raid of creeps, and don't log after two wipes, is the day I take anything you say seriously. This day has not yet come.

The fact that you said this means you know very very very little. When you were gone, quit, retired, I was pretty much the only healing minstrel in the moors for many many many months. It was no easy task.
PS> I always go heal mode in pvp raids. And I enforce it more than anyone. Anybody that knows me knows this. Just ask around. Seriously ask around.

Your so unsure of your self as a raid leader you have to make posts so your buddies can tell you how good you think you are so you feel better about yourself. I've forgotten more about PVP then you'll ever possibly know....been doin PVP long before I came to Lotro. Now go away, back to Creep side preferably, and let the adults speak to one another.

And any one that has raided with me since my return knows that I keep SI up on healers as much as possible...i still seem to be a popular target even now. Much has changed over the years but one thing remains constant....haters gonna hate no matter which side of the fence your on....even if you play both sides.
I might consider doin some buffalo huntin one of these days....catch ya later!!!

If this is true, then I'm glad to see that you have decided to actually add some of your support skills to your PvP Val. It's about time.
Now it's time to apply some humility. I never hate people. I just hate ignorance and closed minds. Keep up the progress.

I dont know where this hate towards you came from Val, but I respect that you dont walk around with SI 24/7. It really makes the r15 brand a joke....

Never have I posted anything that would hint of me being unsure of myself. The closest thing that could come to it, is me asking for opinions from those that have raided with me, if they thought my language and frankness might be considered too much for some. As for you forgetting more about pvp than I'll ever possibly know... those words really hurt, especially since they're coming from an lm who can't keep SI up and who stacked agility. That's great you've been doing pvp for a long time before lotro. All that proves is unlike wine, some things just don't get better with time.

It's PVP...we're all adults...except you of course. Self indulgent posts are unnecessary and typically don't return the info your looking for anyway as evidenced by the responses.
I rest my case.

Hate for ole Val's been around longer than Vic's been outa diapers. Comes with the territory when you lead raids....Silverest, Valistar, Kalib, Ootyfast, Tarvin....we all had our turn under the firing pin. Good Times!
To bad 1v1 ruined the moors....back in the day if you'd 1v1 you were shunned as an easy moder/cheat. Very sad state of affairs now days.

You're so full of ####. 1v1s were never regarded as such, except by people like you who suck at it, and try to bring those who do enjoy it down. RvR, 1v1, Group v Group, all have their place in the moors, just like they have in every other PvP game. It's only those people whose skills are so greatly lacking that they have to rely on others to carry them, that feel the way you do.
Laugh out lol, the fact that Val is claiming his Vet-status only makes it worse that he is still...nubalicious

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to vartsyak again.
Go back to your server boards nub! Unless you'd like to come back so I can re-brand my V in your furry rear end!
1v1'rs were the scum of the moors....still are in my book. Now that's not to say I didn't enjoy a good gank...different story...keeps people on thier toes!
