Bane of Barad Dur (BBD) is a newer/reformed kinship on the Brandywine server. We are an energetic group of new and experienced players who have come together to battle the dark forces and free Middle Earth.
Join up in this exciting age of the kinship as we build our strength and quality. We believe in members helping members and paying it forward. A new player might not have the base developed to repay an experienced player for something crafted but later that player will be able to help a newer player in a similar fashion.
Bane of Barad Dur is looking for new and experienced players to join up with this friendly kinship. We are made up of a mix of experienced players who are excited about forming a new kinship and newer players who are part of the team, doing all the lower level content as they level up their characters and level cap players doing end game content. We will typically have a wide range of levels on at any one time.
We are a 16+ (must be 16yrs+) mature kin with an active player base. Female and male, gamer couples welcome.
Becoming a kin member you are an equal member in the kin. The kin leader and officers are here to serve the kin, not the other way around.
New Member Application:
Potential new members should visit our website (http://bbd.shivtr.com/) and submit an application. Feel free to send an in-game /tell to a BBD Officer to chat and discuss member application.
An easy way to locate BBD members online in-game is to type (/who Bane of Barad Dur), this will bring up the social window with a search for kin members, make sure the level range is set to 5 to 75.
Members:
Kin members range from all levels; new players, new to LOTRO but long-time mmo player, to long-time LOTRO player with max level characters.
Play Times:
Typical play times are primarily North American evening hours but many members are on throughout the day.
Voice Chat:
Bane of Barad Dur uses Ventrilo voice chat server (www.ventrilo.com). Use of Vent is mandatory for kin group events and is highly encouraged for every day kin discussions! Having kin members in a common voice chat is very helpful to share kinship information, coordinate group formation, ask/answer questions, and more importantly enhances the social component of a MMO.

We have a kin Website at (http://bbd.shivtr.com/) where we keep kinship forums, roster, crafting info and crafting requests, calendar and event tracking, quest help requesting, kin polls, and a gallery of cool LOTRO screenshots.
Activities:
Kin grouping for PVE questing – group up with fellow kin members to complete quests.
Friday Night Kin Events – Friday nights we have been holding kin events. Come out to drink crafted brews, interact with kin members and other lotro people, spar in a fight, run through Bree Town, and enjoy the good times.
PvMP – Get out in the Ettenmoors on your level 75 toon to battle the Monsters and improve your PVP rank. Kin members with a [Monster Personality] log into their Monster toons to reap havoc on the free peoples of Middle Earth.

The Bane of Barad Dur kin is now recruiting new members. We R a small casual grp of dedicated players at all levels. Focusing on grouping up to quest and help each other in game. My girlfriend and I would be interested in joining. If I can get her out of guild wars 2 every now and then. If not i would be looking to join. I have a Captain and a Burglar and am a returning player that was around since launch. I am in my 40's and have played MMO's since 1999.
I am looking to recapture that guild experience I had back in the day when helping others was key and cliques and favortism did not exist in a guild. every kin I have attempted to join has been 5 people that ignore everyone else and just power game and that defeats the purpose.

I think though that you may have too many high level players for new members but let me know how your levels balance out and if there are people to group with

We are a smaller kin but have a good mix of players at different levels. Oue players are always on alts and not just doing top level stuff. I expect with the drop of Rohan a lot of people will be working level 75-85 as that is the new content, but i think most kins will be in the same situation.
I recommend to folks intrested, post an app on our web site, come into vent, say hi, talk to the members, see whats going on... if the kin is not for you, no problem, no hard feelings.... there are a lot of good kins here on this server.

Level cap of 85, virtues to 16, mounted combat, new epics, new quests, new skills!!!
