Thread: Please fix pvp on update 7

2k commendations for each creep skill is a joke.
god mode minis and champs is a joke.

i remember devs saying they play a lot of pvp games from where they bring ideas to improve pvp on lotro, i think they should stop doing that since it's clearly not working and start playing a creep to see how frustrating it is to have to get rank 7 with 0 audacity while all the already overpowered freeps have audacity rank 7.

if update 7 doesn't bring anything decent in terms of balance to pvmp i will just find another game where i can have fun on pvp.
i hope rohan brings a major improvement to pvp on lotro, if not, i am afraid it will be the beginning of the end.

I think it's quite obvious that any of the dev's in charge of anything that matters for PvP haven't even played a creep past the early ranks.... Pre-roi.

I've been around since Launch as well
and my Time in LOTRO will come to a end if Update 7 doesnt fix the balance issues either...

It's pretty much Alliance Vs a nerfed horde

lots of mmo's coming out now the market is saturated

If its not fixed or improves im going to Guild Wars 2 or Secret World like many of my Creep Brothers!

PvMP will never be fixed. Get used to it. There will always be faceroll classes. They just change them around each update.

well played LM's are a joke, too bad there's so few of them.
Good luck praying for an update to a dying game that's never been even closed to balanced at any point previous to now.

Loremasters are pretty bad. I can't recall losing to one on my spider. Spiders > LM's. The spiders damaging skills are instant, whereas (I havn't played LM, don't shoot me) IIRC Loremasters are mainly instant. Although a well timed lightning storm and ents can pretty much spell doom for any spider, if it's cast from a very well played LM.

It is and should be so easy to kill almost anything on a LM, that they lose any fight period is either a case of
No clue how to play
No clue about the opponents skillset
Poor rotation

Obviously the ones that run around spamming test of will and light are going to lose, but LM's are still one of the strongest classes in pvp. They just require the most knowledge about their opponents.

Like...windlore, goodbye spider dots. Root hatchling. GG.

My solution is to erase the audacity and rank cap creepside. Also allow creep skills and traits to get more powerful as their rank increases. Using this system will at some point guarantee that creeps players will acheive a level that truly balances even with the most formidable of freeps.

Give creeps the means to constantly get better and then once that balance is achieved back off creep rank increase by using diminishing returns as they continue to aquire renown.

Best way to balance the moors is let it balance itself by removing the restrictions that create the imbalance in the first place!

Cant wait for GW2 even though I am a LOTR fan I am quickly becoming a non fan of LOTRO who have desimated the PvMP in this game.

Or better yet, just GET RID of commendations.

I disagree to this guy. How about the people who already work hard for their rank 7 audacity (Im one of them)? Total of 36,000 commendation and its not a joke but possible to acquire. Instead of complaining find ways to get it. ^_^

So we are starting to get a glimpse of information on Update 7- revamped Moria, revamped Fornost and a new skirm in the Misty Mountains.

I´m very impressed by the amount of new content we get (1 Skirmish and 4 Fornost instances)

When Update 6 was announced nothing was mentioned about PvP revamp either, nothing about Audacity, Moors Armor and Commendations

It is definitely not all. They haven't mentioned many things in that link (like book 7 of Vol III). Moria may be huge, but only

1. 1 new Skirmish
2. Revamped old instance
3. Revamped Quests in Moria

They haven't bothered for the last 5 years (and in fact, steadily made it worse to the joke that it is now) and consistently ignored their customers concerns and suggestions. Turbine prefer to keep their freeps spending money on store bought improvements and giving themselves some kind of pat on the back in the belief that freep rank is some kind of achievement.

Stop wasting your time with LOTRO if 'pvp' is what you are after. You are simply an 'enabler' for freeps to get pvp rank - nothing more.

Interesting. What I've seen and experienced is using situational skills
and skills with longer CD's as necessary followed up with anytime skills.
Are you sure you weren't accidentally watching a typical pvmp video?

I played the beta. if you spame 1 and 2 over and over, you will lose, period. you saw some bad players.

I met a few people who liked to spam 1 and 2. They became a easy kill. Although, skill 1 is a auto attack, so this maybe why you see it used as often.

Also, there's no mana/power bar in GW2, so the choice of which skill you use and at what time can change the outcome of the fight. Do I keep spamming #1 skill which just deals damage, or do I use #4 which applies vunerability to my foe?

I think most freeps who have played this game for a while will agree that PvP is one sided. Creep players past R9 can put up a good fight and sometimes win, but even then they usually need the freep to make a mistake to win.

What creep side needs more than anything is burst DPS. As it stands now, it will take atleast 3 high ranked creeps to burn through a target that is being healed. However the freep side DPS classes can single handedly burn through a creep that is being healed by one healer unless the target is a ranked WL or defiler. Creeps should be given a trait or stance that will let them increase their DPS significantly by sacrificing some morale. I would also like to see a tactical burst DPS class introduced for creep side.

I will not be moving on to a different game because the only reason I continue to play the MMO is because of the friends I have made here. However I personally do not think there will be much improvements made to PvP. I do not think that is the player base this game is trying to attract/keep.
