Discussion: Warden Solo Tanking Tier 2 Lighting.

i'm probably saying this because its a first and truly a first for our server, but congrats on solo tanking the t2 lighting boss without me main tanking or offtank shaera. Congrats.

Wasn't a warden but we've solo tanked lightning with Thanvalt

So has Balrog. The key to this thread is Reforged managed to solo tank Lightning t2 with a warden, and that's a server first

Congrats Shae! Even the majority of Wardens on their forums aren't convinced it's possible to solo tank this

It's significantly easier with a warden because their avoidances stack so much higher. The difference is that it's also easier for a warden to be fail than a guardian. As in all cases of solo tanking, it's more about the healers anyway.

Congrats. I tend to agree with Borken though, having spent my share of time playing a Warden in endgame raiding, and playing around with the changes for a bit, to me a well-played Warden is better equipped than a Guardian on everything but agro recovery. If they haven't fixed the whole Exultation of Battle thing that seemed to be prevalent after U6 yet then hell a Warden might kill all the grims he's kiting on F&F while needing no heals.

I got trolled on the Warden forums for even saying so! Hahahaha

Yeah the warden forums are pretty negative about the class. There are several people who have actually tanked T2 Orthanc wings who speak positively about the class and the revamp, but are outnumbered the theory crafters that never try it and say its impossible.

Haha I love the Warden forums! They're hilarious. About 90% of people there refuse to accept the class is in a pretty good place at the moment and capable of so many new things they they weren't previously. Regardless, tanking that stupid boss solo is a great feat for any class.

BR only ever uses a solo tank and I'm fairly certain we've used a warden at one point.

nope she is the first warden on this server to tank it solo lol... im just congrating her on tanking it, because most warden's on this server arent that great putting out the effort of playing the class, instead of complaining about the class being messed up 24/7...

IMO, the warden class has become too difficult for some of them to keep up with. The biggest warden detractor in that forum has finally admitted to this.

I think that probably goes for all 4 of her alts; she is easily one of the best players on this server, whichever class she is playing. It comes as NO surprise to me that she was able to pull this off. Keep up the good work, and stop making me look bad on your RK!!

essentially, a burg and lm is listed as too, and people complaing mainly about all advanced classes, yes she is a good player, but a lot of ppl are good players too, she play's her favorite class, without denying the fact she will keep trying, no matter how turbine might nerf, OP, and nerf again the class. her words to me are always when i tank(me) is this. Shaera: oh well new rotation whatever, ill learn it next time. Day later... ok i got rotation down lets go destroy stuff.

I know her a little and grouped with her a couple of times. Yes she indeed is great. Congrats on that server-first.

But also a tank is only always as good as its fellowship. So I'm sure you guys additionally are made her able to beat t2 Lighting … and thats because you probably are working good as a group. It's not just the heals … it's that there are not many guys out there who know a lot about Warden-tanking. A Warden tank needs a group that know about Warden tanking, to make it work.

Secondly, if you need the group to do something to help you do your job better, than tell them so. It may a bit annoying to do this every time and it may be irritating to the group, but in the end having the group accept what you need to tank well will make you succeed and allow you to complete the quest/instance you are currently working on. What you require can vary based on your skill, your experience and group make up.

Obviously Reforged is able to do that …

She also recently tanked Saruman P5 solo when the 2nd tank was punted at the very start. Got down to about 7-8 people and beat it

lol yeah i havent really had a great month lets say she picked up my depressive emo stage this month... so i really respect her for picking up my slack, though its not hard to tank them all if you had a solid healer in tier 1 they hit like pea shooters
