    Latency in Gamepley

Can people post their average in game latency numbers ? It would also help if you could mention your ISP and average download and upload speeds ? If you can be spot on then fine but no worries if it's approx , I'm just interested in seeing some figures

    Re: Latency in Gamepley

    Well I'm from UK
    My ISP is Virgin Media
    D/L = 50.92Mb/s (100Mb/s in few weeks)
    U/L = 4.95Mb/s
    Ping (ingame) = 93ms
Speedtest Ping to Boston = 101ms

My D/L speed never drops below 48Mb/s, unlike BT who never gets above 6Mb/s even on a 24Mb line

BT "claim" to be faster than 90% of the UK..... This is absolute LIES

There are only TWO Broadband Suppliers in the UK ... Virgin Media and British Telecom (BT)

Virgin have their own Dedicated Fibre Optic Broadband Network installed
British Telecom are trying to install their own. And failing miserably
There are many other who claim to be better than BT .... PlusNet, TalkTalk, Sky, Orange etc...
But these others are restricted BY BT, because they rent the lines off BT.

    ISP - BT

    Download speed - between 2Mb/s and 6Mb/s

    Upload - 440 KBs

Lat in game usually around 100 - 120

Its the random pauses in-game that have recently appeared that frustrate me. esp when I can see there is nothing wrong with internet connection.

That is on top of my st*pid ISP that 'selects the best connection speed' for the time of day i.e reset broadband connection randomly or should I say usually every hour , after a pointless call with their support team it was explained that the 8Mb cap on connection speed which I never see and random disconnects are a benefit of having their service. No option to change, only to another company using their lines, maybe in 2 months when BT exchange is upgraded I will get an awesome internet experence with BT Infinity LOL. This in not the same as Virgin Fibre Optic, you are still copper from the local exchange to your house, therefore it will never match the speeds that Virgin can get.

N.B. ToR Latency in game 40-60 and NO random pauses. Running same PC etc so hardware is not my issue
