Tirn ni Taur-nu-Fuin ~ A kinship and Mirkwood RP project
Suilaid!
About a week ago, it struck me that Mirkwood is not only my favourite region in LOTRO in regard to atmosphere and the offered quests and story-lines, it also has almost no RP. Or at least I never observed any Role-Playing during my strolls through the gloomy forest. I thought to change that!
Tirn ni Taur-nu-Fuin, translated meaning 'Watch in the Forest out of Night', is a kinship and project dedicated to exactly that target: To bring a bit life into Lothlorien and Mirkwood!
History and Background:
During the Third Age, especially around the end of it, we know that Mirkwood was being sieged, the folk of Thranduil, Oropher's son was driven into the northern reaches of Mirkwood. South of the mountains of this forest, the Emyn Duir, the woodlands were dangerous, often enough lethal to anyone who dared to tread the confused paths alone. Orcs, Wargs, Spiders and even worse creatures roam the once so mighty Greenwood and Dol Guldur poses a great threat to the remaining Elves.
Inspired by the Hidden Guard, a group of Elves that the Player would meet during the Mirkwood Epic Quest line, is the group of the Tirn ni Taur-nu-Fuin.
Their numbers are unknown yet supposingly small, each Elf as member possessing the ability to walk the dangerous paths and to safeguard the borders, bring word quickly from one place to another or to fight if needed.
The aim here is to establish RP that comes close to the dire situation the Elves of Mirkwood had found themselves to the end of the Third Age, ere Sauron was defeated and Dol Guldur destroyed and purged of its evil.
In order to be part of the project being planned and going on, it is not necessary to join the kinship and group itself, but help to defend Mirkwood and Lothlorien is greatly needed!
If you have any further question and want to reach us In-Game so contact Gaomee or Selarthil.

If you are interested in joining the group of the Tirn ni Taur-nu-Fuin however directly so please be sure to bring following qualities with you:
- An average knowledge of the world of Tolkien. That means the basic facts and the main characters in the history of Arda.
- A character with which you are aiming to reach the lands of Mirkwood. (everything between 40-75 is ideal, but smaller levels can be accepted as well!)
- The basics of RP. No one expects anyone here to be a super actor or talented Role-Player with a huge character background with all sorts of details. If you are still new to RP but know how it works, you will be gladly welcomed!
- Please leave 'n00b', 'Can I haz gold', 'How u do this?' kind of language at home. As joke it may be funny, doing it constantly is not. Spelling wasn't invented because the human race was bored.
- Creative ideas and additions to RP are always appreciated! Do not be afraid to utter your thoughts, may it be a complain, an idea or a praise.
If you are interested so please contact one of our two recruiters:
Selarthil, the mighty warrioress is a relatively young member within the Tirn ni taur-nu-Fuin. Trained in the art of warfare she is one of those who directly defend the borders and guard the Elves living in the woods. Orcs and creatures of the dark fear her devastating blows that she deals out with a hammer or a long axe.
Gaomee, the blind, lonely wanderer is the messenger and newsbringer of the Tirn. Although she may have lost her sight many millenia ago, the falconer hears more than others and can move with great pace from one place to another, spreading word or delivering letters in secret.

Good luck with the venture there is certainly a lot of scope for roleplay.
Running two kins though i dont envy you that aspect (Kinn Lai and Tirn ni Taur-nu-Fuin).Khalis - Elven Warder & Captain in the Warband of Imladris
An Elven Kin based in Rivendell, composed of Elves and Men in honour of the old alliance formed by Lord Elrond.

The Kinn-Lai are actually an abandoned project of mine now. People were just not really interested anymore

I hope to find more RP with Gaomee that might appeal to people and is also more lore-friendly."She is blind? Then she sees more than I ever will." - Amlarad

You can always call on Faernathron to aid you in that area.
The idea is sound, for I have been there two days now, and in that time seen but one other player so...

Firstly, I think this is a fantastic concept. I didn't make the link with the Kinn-Lai, but I've enjoyed your posts on the Laurelin Archives for a long time.
My Elven Loremaster, Rhuloc has been looking for a Mirkwood-themed Kinship and to pursue longer-term RP (though he is still in his early 50s levelwise). I'm afraid I'm away at a conference over the weekend, so I probably won't be able to log on until next week, but count me in as being interested!

I'd be interested in this too, although Mithglin (my Elven Loremaster) is currently only at level 22. I'm certainly aiming to get him to Mirkwood though.
It sounds like a great idea - I think Mirkwood is one of the most intriguing places from the books, and it would be great to rp with that as a backdrop.
I'll be in touch.

Sorry, that I have been not online and that the project has been lying unmoving for the last week, but I have been sick :/
However, I am healthy again and should continue Tirn ni Taur-nu-Fuin and its project!"She is blind? Then she sees more than I ever will." - Amlarad

Good luck to you Min. Hate to hear that things didn't go as planned with Kinn Lai though. Not really sure if you even remember me, we met at the last bridge on my Aecklas character :P. Anyway I'm sure I will run across you in Mirkwood soon as Aecklas is lvl 43 so see you then.

I'm not interested in leaving my kinship, but think the rest of this sounds wonderful. As an elf of Lothlorien, Lasendir would most definitely be interested!
