Re: And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

Ok, because my other thread keeps getting sent into the past... does anyone know when this event ends on the 9th? Time/timezone?

I was incredibly calm and polite, which I think got their hackles up more than anything. Also, I refused to be bought off by an offer of freebies - that's when one really went crazy. Still, I've been avoiding the south side of town since then, which is where most cheaters seemed to congregate (though some have been driven north, I guess by desperation over the event ending, in the last couple of days).

In final summary: I have overall enjoyed the event, despite the faint negative taint (more surprise, than anything else!). I've had little luck, but when I've found a horse, it's been an excellently delightful surprise

My main level 46 has been running the quest every day and I've gotten the toast emote an the Lossoth steed so that's cool. I've been really wanting the Dusk Watch mount though. Today I decided to run the quest on my level 20, which I haven't played for weeks. First envelope he opens he gets the Dusk Watch -____- I am now a staunch supporter of having steeds be interchangeable between toons, haha,

Re: And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

My final tallies after running the quest with each character for the last time today:

    75 Hunter - Lossoth, Toast emote x3
41 Warden - Lossoth x2, Steed of the Dusk Watch
    35 Champ - Toast emote x2
32 Guard - Lossoth x2, Steed of the Dusk Watch (earned today!)

And with today being the end of the festival, that's all folks. No one character got all three rewards. And poor Champ!!!

But pretty awesome rewards over all. Thank you Turbine for a fun Festival!!! I enjoyed it. I'm proud to say I earned each steed the right way, and it took right up to the last day of the Festival to get that Dusk-Watch on my Guard.

Lol, and here's the new sparklie I was alluding to:

Re: And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

Final Tally of 28 characters running the Lost Invitations quest almost daily...
    • 11 usable emotes (1 duplicate)
    • 6 Lossoth Steeds
    • 8 Dusk-Watch Steeds (well 3 of those were the Warden's Steed)
    Of the 28 characters...
    • 8 got skunked. Nada, Zip, Zilch, Nothing. (Including my original Hunter who I just started playing again. )
    • 2 got both steeds (both were Hobbit Burglars who are very good at their chosen professions apparently)
    • 5 got the emote and one of the two steeds.
    • Not one character got all three items.
Out of 10 level 10 characters, 8 got something...
    • 6 got the emote
    • 5 got steeds (3 got the Lossoth & 3 got the Dusk-Watch)
    • 3 got the emote & a steed
    • 1 got both steeds
Of my 5 mains (5 servers)...
    • 1 got skunked
    • 1 got the emote
    • 3 got the emote and a steed (2 Lossoths & 1 Dusk-Watch)
    All-in-all, a very fun festival!

I had a lot of fun during the festival but it looks like I was not as lucky as some people when it came to the envelopes.

I ran the envelope event every day (but one) on 4 alts; I created a 5th alt during the festival and collected envelopes with her every day after. Here's what I received in total:

2 Lossoth steeds and 4 Toast emotes total on 5 alts! What did my main receive? Nothing!

Re: And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

I've been too busy levelling my RK to really dedicate a lot of time to the festival, other than doing a full run-through of the different activities once on opening day on my champ. I did the envelopes maybe 10-12 times across all characters. Never got the emote, though a friendly raidmate gave my champ the toast emote and someone in kin mailed a spare to my RK, which is great because both toons are dwarves and the dwarf toast emote is awesome.

Then, a few days before the festival ended, I realized I should probably try to do the envelopes more on toons that didn't have 68% horses yet. I was definitely noticing a difference between peak and off-peak playtimes, with off-peak often getting a bunch of unwanted invitations and anniversary tokens before getting all 6 invitations done. During peak hours I'd often just get all six right in a row. So then, on the last day of the festival I was hopping through Bree on my way from Angmar to Rivendell working on Vol. III on the RK when I stopped to do envelopes. 5/6 invitations, then I got the Lossoth steed! Very happy about it, because it's a really nice looking mount and now I don't have to feel obligated to do the rep grind for the Elf Ambassador horse (which doesn't look nearly as good, I don't think).

The real winner for me were the lotteries. Between landscape drop tokens and the lotteries, I earned over 15k marks during the festival.

10 characters, once a day each, each day since the thing began (however many envelopes that is).
Total acquisitions for all characters combined:

One Duskwatch steed, one toast emote, one Anniversary Token.
Mandli: Now I know how the elves feel. All the magic is leaving Middle Earth.

I tried everyday on my main (lvl 75) and only got the toast emote no horses, all my low lvl storage alts got horses. Today I opened a steel box and got this so I'm feelin a bit better now.
