And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

Here is a list of some of the items I have received when opening an envelope for this quest.

    Lost Invitation
    Unwanted Message
    Lossoth Steed
    Steed of the Dusk-watch
    Toast Emote
    Anniversary Token

Has anyone received anything else from these envelopes?

That's all I've seen, but each of the Dusk-Watch steeds I've picked up turned into a Warden's Steed in my stable.

All I get is invitations and unwanted invitations :-(

Even spent 300TP on badges, even though that's against my better judgement.

    I guess I'm just unlucky.

The Dusk Watch steed "is" the Warden steed (as in warden of annuminas not class steed). Apparently it was meant as an alternative Evendim rep option to the dark chestnut (paint) steed.

Re my own luck, or lack thereof, with envelope quest I have run this with 11 alts over last 2 days so that is 22 quest attempts. Given that it takes at least 6 envelopes for quest completion (maybe an average of 10 given alternative contents?) That is about 220 envelope openings and I've only managed to get

    Invitations
    Unwanted messages
    Anniversary tokens

Many grats to the steed and emote winners, guess I'll just keep trying, it's a fun little quest

Quick question... Is the Toast emote bound to character or bound to account? I only really want it on one character, but if it is bound to account I'll go do the quest every day on my alts, too, to try and get it. Thanks in advance for the information!

A better question is whether the mounts are bound. Anyone know whether or not this is the case?

Re: And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

The mounts are bound. My champ got the Lossoth mount in his first and second envelopes the first time he did the quest. Couldn't use or transfer the second mount, so had to destroy it instead of giving it to another character.

Happily, my hunter got a mount the next day, and I got the toast emote on another toon - now I want it on all of them. But sadly, everything is bound to character.

It's "absorb on acquire", and when you get a dupe (as I have on two chars) it simply announces that you got it and disappears.

Two tries at this quest and I've only received 12 lost invitations and 1 unwanted message. Is that normal? How rare are the mounts & emote?

It's in the hands of the RNG gods, though I know of no supplications to turn their favour towards you.

First two envelopes I opened both contained steeds. I've done the quest six times on various toons, which has so far netted three steeds, one toast emote, a dozen or so anniversary tokens, and the usual invitations and unwanted letters.

I have a very small sample... 29 characters, some who've run it through 3 days and some through 2, for a total of 75 tries.

Of these, I've gotten 4 Dusk/Warden steeds, 4 Lossoth steeds and 6 /toast emotes; two of the characters with /toast got a second one that evaporated on acquire. That looks consistent with something on the order of a chance of 1 out of 15 or 20 to get a specific prize out of your day's envelopes, and maybe about 1 out of 5 of getting *something* each day. 17 of these characters were shut out altogether on 2 or 3 tries.

But (a) it's a very small sample, statistically, and (b) I'm not a statistician and probably shouldn't have quoted anything resembling odds.

Re: And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

I have done the quest once on eight toons and twice on one toon. The toon that ran it twice got the Warden/dusk steed practically on the first envelope she opened on the first run. During the second run she won the toast emote. The rest of the toons won only an occasional anniversary token. I like the quest though so I will be trying it as often as the game will allow.

Re: And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

I've done the quest 2 twice on 2 (3?) toons, the very first time/toon I ran it on my main character, I got a Lossoth Steed. Today on the second run I've done on my hunter, I got the toast emote. I also got an anniversary token on a different toon. The rest has all been lost invitations and unwanted messages.

On a related note, does anyone know if the special items are restricted to the floating envelopes, or is there a chance to win these items on the stationary ones as well?

Most or all of mine have been on stationary ones. I only grab the floaters if it's really busy.

The Equine deity smiled on me today. I got the lossoth pony on my lowbie vendor alt (previously the only one of my alts with no high stat steed ) and my main got the dusk horse so I have a mount with a diferent look to many of my other alts .

    Don't give up hope guys!

Ran the Letters quest only like 4 times ... found 2 Unwanted Messages, 0 Tokens and 1 /toast which makes me quite happy

(the emote was in a floating letter bytheway)

Now I hope finding that Dusk Watch mount ...

Re: And the winner is.. Opening Envelopes for The Lost Invivations Quest

I am a big fan of the envelope quest, very cool.

I have 7 toons, i have run dialy since the festival opened.

I have recieved 2 Lossoth Steeds, one Dusk Watch Steed, a few tokens, and a bunch of unwanted letters.

Originally I thought maybe the harder to find/catch envelopes contained a better drop rate, but my duskwatch steed came from a stationary envelope in plain sight, and they also all stack together. I gathered 6 before opening them a couple times, and they all seem to have the same drop rate.

Still haven't seen the /toast emote though!

Done it three times on different toons. Got one toast emote which is pretty neat.

Actually I prefer to get the unwanted message to the invitations... at least with those you get to collect another envelope and have another shot at winning a steed!

can't make much of a difference, since the floaters *cough unintended meaning cough* stack with the static ones.

Only gotten 'Festival Invitations' till today. Picked up a letter on top of the stable by the south gate - Lossoth Steed!

Probably a coincidence I got the horse from a letter in that location. I even had to work for it too, dunno if other races can reach that high, but hobbits cannot. Had to take one of my other horses and get a running start to jump on top of one stable and then jump from there to the stable the letter was resting on. Hard work definitely paid off tho. ^_____^

Ran it for the first time yesterday on all stationary envelopes and got:
    Lost Invitation x6
    Unwanted Message x1
    Lossoth Steed x1
    Toast Emote x1
    Anniversary Token x1

Ran it again this morning with a combo of mostly floating and a few stationary and only got the Lost Invitations.

As this is my first (didn't do it last year Anniversary Festival, I was pleasently surprised about the Steed and Emote.

So far, nothing but anniversary tokens, unwanted messages, & festival invites.

How do you pick up or interact with the floaty envelopes?

Fin, if you are close enough to get the googley eyes cursor (on the envelope) click and >stand still< Your Progress Bar will fill and you will have picked it up. If you move, you interrupt your action.

I also just got the invitations, unwanted messages and a few anniversary tokens despite running the quest on several toons. It's a pity the steeds and emotes aren't bound on account, though, as I only collect mounts with my main.

Keep at it! There is still at least 10 more days of festival fun. 10 more times to take the quest = minimum 60 envelopes to open. That's a lot of chances to get something good!

No one get discouraged. And have lots of fun! \ ^____^ /

Got an elf_dance_2 emote out of an envelope. I already had it, so item went to my bag. It was not bound in any way so could mail to another account.
