Thread: conection eror pls help: Game client not found file (lotroclient.exe)

I just instaled LOTRO i have no caracters when i select the world and click play the fallowing error shous up:

The game client file ( lotroclient.exe) was not found.
Haw can i fix this?

dose enyone know whay every time i start the luncher "c++ 2005 redistribuable " is reinstaled

for the first issue
1: start the game by going to the game directory (default location: C:\Program Files\Turbine\lord of the rings) (turbinelauncher.exe) (dont use shortcut, you may have copied the launcher instead of shortcut it, if you did this manually.)

2: look to see if lotroclient.exe is in your game directory, if it is and still not working with step 1, delete the lotroclient.exe file and start launcher again (lotro client could be corrupt) (launcher should automatically download the lotroclient.exe file)

3: if that doesn't work (you do/don't see lotroclient.exe in your game directory), reinstall the game, meaning you are missing some file or your data is corrupted. (another possibility is your .ini file for launcher is corrupt or missing, reinstalling will fix this too)

this should fix that issue

for your second issue
1: reinstall c++ manualy (but fix your first issue first, you may not even need to do this if first one is solved and works properly)

I just wanted to test this game today, what a turn off this is, seriously.

The turbine support page steps don´t bring me anywhere, the tipps in this forum don´t bring me anywhere, and i guess i will uninstall this game again since i don´t feel like opening a support ticket even before i was logged in once, this is a joke for a serious game...

Sorry guys, but i work in software myself and apparently this issue seems to be there for a while without a fix just with "potential solutions" which involve more guessing around than really knowing something about this bug. "Eventually turn off this", "maybe try reinstalling" blablabla..

Almost 8 hours of downloading and installing for absolutely nothing, thank you Turbine!
