Let me start by saying this is my personal opinion and as such is not intended to cause disputes
At the moment Captains have buffs that are applied at the beginning of a fight, and other buffs/debuffs applied during the fight as their cd's refresh.
In my opinion Captain buffing for the group should go a a little like Warden self buffing, for example Wardens have various skills that once applied give slight self buffs such as +2-6% b/p/e and +X% damage for a matter of seconds. In my view Captains should have these buffs tied into their skills that affect the whole fellowship.
If the captain functioned more like this then the class would truly come into its own as the buffing class of the game.
Some examples of this include:
Defensive Strike: Fellowship gains +400 armour rating for 8 seconds
Blade of Elendil: Fellowship gains +4% damage for 6 seconds
Swift Strike: Fellowship attack duration reduced by 5% for 7 seconds
Shadows Lament: Each member of the fellowship has a 6% chance to Fear their target for 8 seconds on their next hit (combats the lack of usefulness of SL outside of LtC (War-Cry and RC nearly always take priority) and I mean its called Shadows "Lament", which could be interpreted as grief for fighting the captain and thus inducing fear)
The buffs are slight and would just prompt that extra kick out of the fellowship that a real Captain of battle should be producing
Reiterating the point that this is my personal view and wouldn't like to be ridiculed by readers calling these ideas ridiculous.
besides the fear everything is reasonable. I don't think it'll be implemented.. because captains typically have larger buffs, and i wouldn't want to spend all my time hitting dstrike and sstrike to keep those buffs up. but it's not crazy.
i wouldn't really want the fear skill. I guess it'd be good in the moors, but I spend more time PvE'ing.
With swift strike you _SURE_ly mean some other strike?
These changes would favor LtC even more. We need options as right now we have one good traitline. And even that good one should be buffed slightly and the others need much more work.
