Re: You are transported to a real life LOTRO world and must pick between Elf, Hobbit,
Hobbit no question... and a disreputable Hobbit at that... always getting at someone else's garden or pilfering a pie or whatever ne'er-do-well activity presents itself.
Might seem an odd choice as Elven immortality is a mighty fine racial trait. But when I think of 7,000 year old Elrond with only 3 children it makes me think these folk have some issues that a Hobbit would find most odd... most odd indeed.

Have you done the Ford of Bruinen skirmish lately? Considering the fact that the combined intelligence of Elrond's boys is about equal to that of a banana, I think Elrond made the proper reproductive decision.

Elf.
seriously, to be alive for such a long time(forever) would be nice. Elves are wise, powerful and freakin' cool. Imean they can sleep while they run around and relive their memories. They're totally the most perfect and pure beings living on middle earth, excluding the valar and eru. the only drawback for me is that they don't have beards. :\

A Man, who lives in The Shire.

Have to go with dwarf just because they are more akin to my personality!! In any game where there is a dwarf option, I play a dwarf. They've got "sass".[/QUOTE]
actually the dwarf women don't have beards. there's you difference.

Tolien's dwarven women are presumed to be bearded as well.

I'd pick Dwarf. They've always fascinated me. Short but strong, enjoying a good fight and being good at it, drinking and great smiths and stone workers.
Surprised nobody has said Maia yet...I can't decide between a human Rider of Rohan or one of Durin's dwarves...either way I'd probably go out fighting for my king...hopefully many songs of valor would be sung in my honor and a keg or two drained! LOL!
Hobbit, without a doubt. Specifically, I'd be a hobbit bowman, bounder by profession, scholar by hobby: A Hunter Scribe, so to speak. I'd be a world traveler, ranging out of the bounds of the Shire in search of new tomes of knowledge, and defending the Shire from all threats, intrinsic and extrinsic.
I love the Shire, and growing things, and I'd have a nice hobbit hole in the south farthing somewhere out of the way. I'd occasionally go on trading trips, joining myself to a caravan of hobbit traders, as their cartographer and expert of linguistics. My name would be, Lobber.
Definitely Dwarf. I've a deep love of crafting, I work with metal and clay (sculpture/frames), and I love the underground so very much. Ever since I was very young I have had countless dreams of spelunking in familiar caverns and passages which stretched thousands of miles. If not more. It seems these caves don't exist in this world...
The only other demand I'd have is to be male. I'm not sure if females could grow a thick and long beard and I'd desire to have a majestic one down to my wee toes. At best, in this life I'll get paltry chin hair when I get old. *sigh*
Other option is elf, but only if I could live more as a recluse in cave/rock hollows or a deep, dark and dangerous forest like current Mirkwood. :D
Hobbit - without question. I'd be the wise-woman who lives in Waymeet, farming me herbs and smoking me pipe on the caravan steps. Called out to help with the laying out of the recently passed or bringing new life into the world. Enjoying a laugh and a song, plus a pint or two.
While I appreciate eating, drinking, and generally having a good time, the hobbits' lack of adventure would be terrible. Dwarves seem to be pretty content to stay in their holes as well. And elves are too stuck up. So man it is for me! But I would be a Ranger so I can roam around searching out adventure after adventure (and maybe pausing occasionally to party it up with the hobbits!)
Hmm.... I would have to say dwarf, on one condition - I'm allowed to pick a woman or female elf partner. I just couldn't handle a chick with a beard longer than mine...
Come on now what wrong with a chick with a beard. Just picture it, long blond and braided with pink and purple ribbons. Dwarven males would go crazy for a woman like that.
I would love to travel Middle-Earth as a female Hobbit Minstrel, singing songs of heroic endeavors, telling tales of epic battles, etc.
I also really like the Dwarves, though I do not think I'd like a beard. I enjoy being locked up in my room doing my own thing and am as stubborn as Mithril is hard.
I think I would be an elf. I would live through the ages, see all that the world can show me, even relive the memories in meditation and/or share them with others if I can. Above pretty much everything else, I love exploring (in spite of liking to be willingly locked in my room) and learning hands on. No need to worry about eating, drinking, sleeping, etc.
Make me an elf Champion any day!
And when my days are done on Middle-Earth, I'll see what's in the west before I fade.
I love nature and fighting. Let's face it, though people say elves can't fight, it's pretty obvious they can, but prefer not to. I'd rather wander about than be confined to an area like a Hobbit, and I can't stand caves or wide-spaced dark areas. As for men, well, I don't have a problem, but I'd prefer to be an Elf.
