Retake her mandala tonight
Yes, it's another Tolkien trivia/puzzle thread.
The title may translate as: The Tolkien anagram thread .
So here's the scoop. We take a word, phrase or statement from the professor's work and make an anagram from it.
I'm not really very good at solving these, but given a bit of time I can usually puzzle them out.
As with the other puzzle threads let's keep this simple by only choosing stuff from the major works; The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.
Here is Wikipedia's page for more explanation on anagrams: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anagram
Here is another simple example: The bony pill (scroll down for the answer).
The bony pill = Bill the pony.
See, they can be simple or complex.
I will start us off with a relatively simple one.
A games gem

Sam Gamgee.

Ah, good one Dorothir.
A Balrog by any other name would still prompt retreat.
Valarauka: the Quenya name that translates as Demon of Night.
I will assume that's correct.

Quick check, is the bold bit the anagram? or all of that sentence?

Another question, is each part a separate jumble or is the whole thing one? Meaning, A Bread Egg does not mix any letters with Hotshot kin .

This is truly a puzzle.
I can see many words; dragon, Baggins, bagshot, bree, shire...
They definitely make me think this must be something in the Shire, or from The Hobbit, but I cannot find the answer.

Oh no, it's the whole thing *evil grin*
Re: Retake her mandala tonight
Tom, I do believe you have us stumped with this one. While there are many words and names that can be made within, as Boraxxe mentions, I simply cannot put together an entire thought from it

Tom, how about a clue?
Maybe you could let us know what Age the scramble is concocted from.

I would like to know if the commas are part of the unscrambled text.
Re: Retake her mandala tonight
It's been a few days now. I'd like to keep this one going, so maybe someone can post a new one and we can come back to Tom's later?

Re: Retake her mandala tonight
Wow, I actually thought that would be pretty easy....it's "They're taking the Hobbits to Isengard!"

Hmmm...I think I'm gonna cry foul on this one. This is a quote from the movie, but I couldn't find it in the actual text. I'm happy to give Tom another go at any rate!
Site note: Actually I was hoping Boraxxe would have one ready! Lol!

Over the Misty Mountains cold?
Re: Retake her mandala tonight
You got it - or close enough. You left out the "Far".
The riddle stick is yours.
Sorry for the delayed response.

Foul! Foul! Not only is there no apostrophe in "smooched," but there's no T either!
Clearly you mean "Smiley nun smooch'd favorite TART."

Yeah, I felt guilty about that part too. Tart would have been better.

My go? A brief funky torsos.
Re: Retake her mandala tonight
Tom, can you confirm "My go?" is not part of the anagram? Thanks.
Re: Retake her mandala tonight
Goy'm! Your staff is broken!
OK, I don't really think "my go" is part of it.

Okay I really am from Texas even though this might sound Canadian...
Look at his dinner eh ?
Note: The ? is not part of the unscrambled answer just to be clear.

I thought it might be time for a clue, but I didn't want to be too obvious so...
Think along the lines of the very first answer.

Sorry for nitpicking but I'm stumped, and the hint only made it worse.
Ack! Sorry bout that. Although I could make things even worse and say both , the Sam Gamgee answer would be closer to the answer to this riddle and what I originally meant as well.
So a more direct clue might help? The answer is a person.
Bigger hint? Highlight the text below.
A very important person.

Re: Retake her mandala tonight
oh, well, if it's an important person then it would have to be Thorin Oakenshield.
Well, I suppose you could always say "flame resistant sunglasses" if you prefer that to "shoes"

Wow, these are harder to come up than I thought...
A wise dream; learn rain
And the semi-colon is not included in the unscrambled text.
