Personally I wish they had not offered the skirmish mark option. These boxes in past years were fun even when I did not really get anything I actually needed. Now every time I open one I feel like I got ripped off since in nearly ever case the marks would have been the clear better choice. Oh well I did not really need the marks anyway.

Haha I know what you mean.
I've opened tons of boxes now and I hate to think how many marks that would have been. I still use marks to get crafting guild rep xp tomes for my alts, etc.
I know I should stop getting boxes but I just can't help it
Decorative boxes - Medallion, morale pot, dread removal token, twice food, fireworks recipe.
Elegant - T4 relics, Medallion, food twice, dread removal token.
Extravagant - cosmetic clothing, food, medallion.
Embossed - cosmetic clothing.
Lavish - Medallion, twice dread removal token.
These were yesterday. From earlier I've got two medallions, once cosmetic clothing and two fireworks recipes.
Have to agree, offering marks at the same time was not a good idea. These should be gift boxes and only suprise gifts, not something you can turn in for certain value.
Elegant gift boxes:
1 x Superior rack of lamb with mint sauce (lvl 50)
1 x Superior green pea soup (lvl 50)
Short-sleeved corsair's tunic and trousers (cosmetic)
Orange fireworks recipe (master scholar)
Rugged dwarf-make quiver (cosmetic)
1 x gleaming edelharn token

Elegant Gift Box:
Distilled Celebrant Ointment
Circlet of Men
Fancy Elven Quiver
Fine Short-sleeved Dress
Rugged Quiver
Fused Early Relics
Potage of Chicken and Onions
Decorative Gift Box: x3 Polished Eldelharn Token
x2 Refined Celebrant Ointment
x2 Superior Lembas
Adamant Shard
x2 Superior Masterful Mash
And then I quickly traded the rest for marks so I wouldn't buy anymore gift boxes!
Gave it one more try with Calenard tokens. 15 tokens, 3 boxes - got food, potion and fireworks recipe.
From now on, I'll trade tokens for marks. My skirmish soldiers could do with upgrading, even if anything else isn't worth the cost.
Thanks for the replies. I updated through post 70 and tried to make things a bit easier to read now that the list is getting a bit long.
Let me know if you'd like me to format it differently.
I also noticed one poster said "Dread Removal Token"
I presume that's actually a hope token and not a dread removal token? (Or can someone confirm an actual dread removal token dropped??)

I got better odds at winning the infamous publishers clearing house sweepstakes than getting a fair exchange.
I tried 5 times, that's equal to 25 tokens or 1,000 marks. I got two hope tokens, two power regens and a heal potion.
Maybe after the events are over they will address it like the loot box issue was. Speaking of bad luck, I have yet to get another loot box now that I have keys and they fixed the content on them.
Oh well, in Middle Earth, like the lottery, all you need is 5 tokens and a dream...
