Instead of generalizing creeps vs freeps, take a close look at the specific people who comment about the problems of nonstop raiding and you'll understand. What I mean to say is, it isn't generally raiders commenting. The issue is raiders vs non-raiders. So it's not a double standard, nor hypocrisy. There are plenty of raid baby creeps as well and they are also mocked for their lack of skill and fear of death. Most of us play both sides nowadays, so it's never just a creep vs freep issue anymore.

I've only ever raided up when given the choice of being farmed or logging out... or when asked for help, of course. One can only be facerolled by 24 button mashers so many times before it gets old. That's why in the days of Filet, I sometimes joined Adino and why in the days of Adino, I sometimes joined Aza. Even during raid fights, I tend to stick with the smaller group or just roam on my own.

As for PvE, I've generally done this in a small group since it's pretty mindless and easy.

There's nothing wrong with an occasional raid when it's actually needed, it's the constant nonstop facerolling button mashing zergs, hide and zeek to PvE and avoid fights/have a place to turtle that people take issue with. It's the mentality of "enter GV/Grams, immediately form raid regardless of what's out there and what's going on or needed" that people have a problem with. It's the fact that there are countless players now in the Moors who haven't been in ages because there was no raid to protect them, who hide from fights because they don't know how to do anything else. It leaves little opportunity for anyone else to enjoy their style of play.

As I said before, raids tend to control everything due to numbers. It's a simple numbers game that can't be argued with. It essentially forces everyone into that style of play because it leaves the Moors desolate and it leaves the opposition that want to roam, 1v1 and small group constantly getting facerolled. I roamed all over the map last night and found no one. Not a single creep nor a freep because everyone was busy at the zergfest. I went to the faceroll festival at OC and was there maybe 15 minutes before I bailed. It wasn't a challenge, it wasn't skill and it was kind of boring. It was simply farming. Freeps turtled in 1 shots, creeps turtled in OC. /yawn. To each their own, I suppose, but I still have my opinions.

It's great that people enjoy the game in whatever way they do, but to deny that it affects everyone else is foolish.

    But that's just my opinion.

I got all 7 of my cappies ranks with Boom at my side.So sorry sir that is incorrect information.I demand you fix it.

I think the OC/Res thing was simply people who were unraided. Most people don't often have the courage to run around alone or in small groups. When both sides raided up afterwards, there were some nice rvr fights.
It is completely true however that it affects solo and small group action.

In an ideal setting, we would have a timetable in which raid action is limited to certain times or to a certain part of the map.
eg. the grimwood forest and southern coldfells is reserved to soloers from 5pm-9pm EST.

Unfortunately, a lot of people wouldn't stick to our made up rules which is a shame.

Doesn't Adino not allow people who creep to be in his raids? Also guys, lets not bash healers for grouping up. Now mini heals are more OP than heals creepside but if a player wants to heal, then they should be able to heal without being made fun of as a raidbaby. Plus hes a Hobbit mini, so he is adorable.

I know the freeps there were raided up. As far as I could tell, most of the creeps were ungrouped or maybe in duos or something.

I think that's true for a lot, especially those that have recently reappeared in the Moors due to Adino being back to lead them, but there have been a lot more roamers, soloers and small groupers from what I've seen.

I can think of quite a few freeps that took to this style and branched out from the Adino raids right before and after he left, which I thought was awesome to see.

I just don't understand why anyone on either side is so afraid to PvP and possibly die... unless of course they are trying for 5 stars, which I still need to do.

Yeah, sorry I missed it, but I was busy freeping like a 'tard after coming back from dinner.

I'm all for a good large battle sometimes, so long as no one is being cowardly and turtling/playing hide 'n' seek. As I've said, I've raided my fair share on both sides before and enjoyed it when it was appropriate, I just don't want it all the time. Just like I don't want a constant tea party of 1v1s. 1v1s are great when things may be unbalanced or slow, but sometimes it's just too much. Like that one day where it was going on for like 6 hours straight at TR. I was actually happy to see Adino show up at that point.

    Thank you for seeing that.

I think the big problem with this discussion is that people take it too personally. They look at it in terms of "creep vs freep" or personal attacks. It's not about that... at least not for me. I'd feel the same regardless of who.

Yeah nice thought but would never happen. I don't think there needs to be a timetable, just a little mutual common sense and courtesy. It was nice back when we would call in GLFF for 1v1s on CM some nights or set up small group battles. Although, even that can get old. I enjoy the surprise fights you find just roaming around. I guess I enjoy variety.

This is a PvP zone, to expect anything is rather silly really, but I think people feel they are able to make such requests because we are such a tight-knit community, even with all of the hate. It's just unfortunate that often times having an open dialog and listening to each other is impossible due to all the drama, trolling, QQ and rage. I've had my verbal battles with people, yourself included and in the end I like to think we worked things out and continued on. I can't really think of anyone that I would completely dismiss or hate on because of that. Outright jerks and trouble makers, however, are a completely different story.

Correct. A few people were given the boot and ostracized in the past because of this.

However, nowadays, I think he will be hard pressed to stick to this rule as so many freeps now have creeps as well. So we can only hope his stance on this is not so firm.

It actually made the community a bit tighter and more friendly when people loosened up a bit and tried both sides, tbh. I think it gave people the opportunity to grow as players (especially freeps trying out a creep), understand what it's like playing on the opposing side and understand each other. It was nice to see and I hope that part doesn't change. Plus it's fun hanging out with people you always smack talked when they were the opposition. Now I get to smack talk them to their face, instead of behind their back while fighting them. Hi Tbow!

Indeed, surprise fights are my favourite type. I enjoy hunting people which is the only reason that I sometimes solo. Unfortunately, I've had situations where I have gone around on my horse and not found a single opponent for 30 minutes. A hard face-palm was to be had.

There also lies a problem with small groups though. I've often let some groups go when raided only to have them jump into the rvr fight in the middle and tip the balance. If raids are supposed to respect small groups, then they to should respect the rvr fights in turn. Not that any group or raid will respect the other mind you. Just idealistic talk here

    Agreed.

I roam quite a bit until I get bored of sightseeing when I find nothing but NPCs. I doubt I'd be much of a challenge, but if you ever find me, I would be filled with pleasure if you would jump me. Surprise death is more exciting than ezmoding OC/EC/etc. facerolls.

And if you don't see Doctorkevorkian, keep an eye out for the low rank German creeps.

I have heard from a few people that Adino himself told his raid the first night he was back that he didn't stop playing LOTRO. He rolled a freever on this server and several others (to try the other side) so I don't think that the old "no creep oriented freeps in raids" applies anymore. But I could be wrong.

P.S. LBF...You could post more, but I think they know who they are, and so do we.

Ranked defilers are actually pretty tough to beat. Also, low ranked German creeps? I am intrigued

Laize has actually been playing different characters as well with some being on creepside. He also accepts my 1v1 challenges everytime even when he knows he'll get roflstomped.

It's ok, I did quit for my semester at grad school, you know real life, or do you? I came back a week or two ago and have mostly been creeping trying to get some commodations, being a 6k morale audacity 1 burglar was not fun. Anyways I fully admit I play the game to have fun. I don't have time to study pvmp stats since I also work a full time job in the Air Force, but if it makes you feel better to call me out I guess that is cool.

And only a socialist Canadian WOULD say something like this. Moving backwards and breaking your own laws isn't progression; those Canadian schools must not have taught you much. Exactly how is he progressive and one of the better ones?

You may not want to start a political debate. Not only because it isn't allowed on the forums, but also because you would receive an intellectual thrashing and I have no desire to embarrass you so deeply in front of your peers.

I fail, so I am not tough to beat. Plus I'm fat now and got the diabeetus, so I'm a huge slow target. I just wish they would implement the sounds of rumbling when I come running. Monkey still owns, but god it's fun to be a fatty.

I knew you of all people would be. You'll know right away if you see me. It's likely poorly translated German, but I know the meaning gets across as I've been asked before if I was German. It pleased me.

Because saying bahahaha makes you look so smart! I'm afraid to don't possess the intelligence level to even come close to embarrassing me. All you've really done so far is show off how low of a level your brain really works. You rarely make posts that don't embarrass yourself and flaunt your idiocy, relentless stupidity, and utter misunderstanding of everything. You must really hate the world to think in such a way as you indicate...well I mean I have seen your picture, and it certainly doesn't indicate otherwise; I bet you have a lot of boys chasing after you.

Now that I've described yourself to you, since you clearly don't even have the ability to comprehend this small amount of information without help, let's get back on topic. You still haven't answered my question.

"show off how low of a level your brain really works" eh?
Want to try that again, this time making it a functional sentence or is that too hard for such a smart man such as yourself to make.

Although I guess you could just make more ignorant statements based on someones personal appearance. It would fit quite well with your self-portrait of being intelligent and understanding.

You are right about one thing though. I do have a lot of boys chasing after me. While I realize this was meant as a homophobic remark on your part, it is quite a compliment. In fact, I have both boys and girls chasing me. It is nice being desired by so many. You should give it a try.

Oh don't worry about Meleo. He is simply a bitter young man attempting to troll. I have come across his type many times and those mistakes simply show that he is typing while emotionally compromised. He would not make those same mistakes otherwise.

    Grammar*

    Don't*

    Sorry, I couldn't resist!

You know someone had to do it, isn't it better that it was me?

I mean, it could have been that brute, Meleo. Now he will have less to attack. So really, I did you a favour.

I assume he meant "you don't" instead of "to don't" and that was only said because he probably thought I was calling him stupid, which I did not.
I do not think he actually understands what "intellectual thrashing" means.

Once again, you're avoiding the question. Perhaps you should work on your comprehension skills; or create some as it's evident that none exist. I'm really interested in your political views since you brought them into the thread. Why are you avoiding any explanation now? Maybe it's because you don't have any; or you're an idiot.

A phobia is a fear of something, so homophobia would be the fear of homosexuals. I'm not quite sure how I made a remark related to that.

You may not want to start a political debate. Not only because it isn't allowed on the forums, but also because you would receive an intellectual thrashing and I have no desire to embarrass you so deeply in front of your peers.

All this blabber about "comprehension skills" even though I clearly stated that I would not take part in a political debate on the forums?

Also, I was not the one who brought in politcal views.
You were the one who brought non-lotro politics into this thread and you were the one who brought personal insults to the thread. Time to grow up Meleo.

I brought a comparison with a political icon's name into the thread. I didn't share any views, only facts. You were the one who shared political opinions. Comprehension skills bro, come on.

You said you could do something, so let's see it.

As shown in the first quote, you gave your political opinion on your current president and a government system.
Comprehension starts with understanding your own words. May I suggest that instead of trying to troll the forums, you spend more time trying to understand yourself. It may come useful to you.

I gave no opinion of any president. I gave an opinion about the followers of said person. I never said any opinion or view on the president. How ignorant can you get?

It seems you don't listen to a word I say. Had you sat back and read over your own words, you could have avoided this.

In your own words, you said that your president encourages laziness. That is an opinion. I assume your original response to reading that will be something along the lines of "it is based on fact, not opinion".

If you give me a response that shows you've given this careful reflection, then we can continue talking. If you do not however, then enjoy your monologue.

If someone does encourage laziness, then saying said person encourages laziness is not an opinions. I encourage you to educate yourself. I'm not forming an opinion about myself, it's a fact; I do encourage that.

    Thumbs up Re: Adino!

Latest epic nonsensical thread is epically nonsensical.

I think of all of our derailed nonsense threads, this one might actually be the winner.

It's got EVERYTHING! I hope it lasts FOREVAR!

    Fact and/or Opinion.
    Fact: this thread exists.
Opinion: all comments in this thread are opinions.

Thought often gets in the way of truth. Pain clears the mind of thought.
But all thoughts free our mind, and let the truth make itself known.
