Sweet! I hope I win one, but if not, I'll break down and get some more Turbine points. I must have one for my champion!! I can't wait to see what it looks like.
imo this falls into the same category as OD mount. Where's my assortment of mutilating devices, where's the armor? Put that horse in the front line and you'll have to charge enemies on foot. Minas Ithil or Midnight are more champ than this one i think
I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope that, if you get it on a dwarf, it's a goat covered in awesome armor that matches the ToO armor and has axes all over it.
Seriously though, what are these daggers and swords? Lame.
Aye. I was hoping for a pile of assorted weapons encumbering this horse. Where are the axes, maces, clubs, and bows?
The horse looks good, but it doesn't quite have that "killers of anything" vibe.
I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend. ~ Faramir
From the pics it looks a poor design, rushed to meet some deadline.
with the scattered weapons and a "lose" coat of arms (?) and bags it looks like a carrying mule not something to take to war. A walking wardrobe.
Champs charge the enemy fearless and fight the enemy face to face.
Our horse should look fierce and agressive.
After so much time to bring this out i really would expect something better.
...just wondering how it didnt end up pink coloured.
Edit: even the way the swords are positioned makes absolutely no sense. Nor drawable for quick engagement big one seems to gonna make the horse trip on it and fall. looks lke a arms merchant showing off product and not something usable really really disapointed.
It should have had a pile of weapons on it like this:

At least you positioned the weapons in a more correct manner if it were thess desgners they would stick them vertically probably hitting the ground. Must be the same ones that had that trend of sticking stupid litle flags on horses rears
As i posted in the other section....Epic Failure !!! Worst steed of them all so far for the class steeds. Looks like it was just thrown together quickly without too much thought into it. Very very disappointed !! Only thing that is great is the plate. It looks simply drab and unappealing. Otherwise the rest needs redone completely. I will never buy this steed and i have waited for so loooooong to come out with much anticipation seeing what all the other steeds looking awesome so far....but certainly not this one for my champ main
I planned on breaking out the Visa card for the sole purpose of buying this steed if I didnt win it in the lottery. But now that I've seen it, I put the card back in my wallet. I was hoping for something a little more "Bad ###" for a Champions steed. It's not appealing even in the slightest little bit.
Total number of level 75 mobs killed: 5558. keys & Lootboxes:0
Murphy's law strongly applies onto Turbine's class specific horses in the lottery for some reason, is it coincidence that so few players win a class steed on the actual class its designed for, or just randomness?
The truth is out there, embedded into the code but Confusious says:
If I don't win it in the lottery on my champion, I will buy it anyhow.
I like the way that the plating makes the horse appear as tho he would have great maneuverability, I would say that he looks like a much more agile armored steed than the guards - which I think is appropriate.
And no thank you to all of those extra weapons you've stacked on there, they make the horse look like that buckaroo game we used to play. And would be exceedingly annoying the next time I charge into a band of orcs.
I can see why the dual swords is disappointing to players who don't, but our class badge is 2 crossed swords...
Lets face it for a class this awesome there was no way to create anything uber enough, but remembering that it is the rider that is the champion not the horse, this does look like something we might reasonably ride.
imo they should have taken the midnight skin, slapped a white/silver/blue HEAVY armor on it (not leather), put an axe and a sword so they could be easily accessed at any time, no bags etc on it, just weapons and armor... it's a battlehorse after all

Try and imagine a black horse with white feet, armour plated in greyish tones (to look like metal) a couple of small spikes on the horses forehead plate and a couple of swords/axes placed on the mount in a way that would really make sense. Something drawable while riding it. Drop the bags.
I don't really think it was that difficult to come up with something more suitted for a champ.
To come up with something like this we shouldnt need to wait so long for it. If you recall the hunters horse for example looks really cool for the class and robust at the same time
In general, I think what is missing from this mount is a definitive theme.
The Hunter mount had this, sort of, ranger like practical appearance - fur blanket and all. Runekeeper mount is nicely clad from head to toe, a deviation from most other steeds, with this assortment of books and scriptures in a big bag - it looks somehow noble and civilian, a bit bookworm-like. The Guardian mount is definitively a well-protected front-line mount. One doesnt have to like them visually, but at least they had a compelling design goal.
But this one? I just cannot find anything resembling a theme. The horse is a drab grey not flashy-glitzy as we Champs are; its armor is an inconsequential, half-finished bolt-on; its neither warlike nor impractical or wild and scruffy - all themes one could have chosen for a champ mount. Doesnt even have noteworthy leg-guards FFS.
Glueing a few one-handed weapons (including a DAGGER) to the back is not a compelling theme. Such a stupid move considering Champions are up there in all of LotrO population. As with certain other appearance choices for "top of the line" things in the game, the responsible people need to be dragged out and shot - flogging may have worked with lootboxes, but this is Sirius Biznes

Perhaps it's the steed Chumps travel between fights on? ^^

I agree, out of all the class steeds, this one has got to be the worst. It's very plain and simple, nothing worth making me want to drop 20 bucks on it in the store. I was prepared to buy it and all, but after seeing it, my mind quickly changed.

This is EXAXCTLY my thought. It's the specific lack of vision that bothers me. Not just with the steed, but with our class as a whole.
I really believe (and I'm sure plenty will disagree) that the downfall of our class and the vision of our class was the whole increase in the viability of our ability to be a main tank. It muddled our role. It messed up several of our mechanics at the root level. Anyhow, that's my thoughts.
I just think we need to be refocused into a Champion class again. Including our look and gameplay feel.
For me, I think the Champion is about not caring if we die, as long as we fall on the top of the pile of our foes. But maybe that's just me.

Thanks turbine.
Same here. I was going to buy it but not anymore. Please Turbine. Desing something more aggressive and wild for us. Or you'll face the anger of players of the best class.

I really hope a certain warg doesn't pick up on this thread or it will completely turn into a troll thread.
If I win this horse in the lottery, I probably would use it from time to time. However, I do not see me going out to purchase it. I tend to use my cave claw horse all the time because I love how ugly it is.
Whatever else there is to be said about the styling of it (yes, the swords should be horizontal, not vertical), they -reaaaaally- need to fix the clipping on the armor plates on the back of the horse when it's running. It's terrible, the armor disappears into the horse's rump alternating sides on each stride and it looks awful... >.<
I really love this steed. Screenshots just don't do it justice.
While some may find the armor color drab, it combines well with a lot more outfits than an extravagant colored would have done. It combines great with a serious brooding hero look.
It is not an extravagant comic-book superhero megasteed of awesomeness. Thank you for that, whoever designed it.
I really appreciate this steed.
Now, the clipping issue.. It's not good. It's really visible when you're riding it and looking at it's backside - which is where you'll usually be looking. I already /bugged it.
