I'm pretty sure even the newly roll characters will also get the horse
Burglars make the best Historians
getting Scholar materials . . well it's not as easy as it is for the other crafts, not at the start that is, Tier1 materials is a pain to get, but you will have your farmer now
well now if you're going to have a Historian, then you can craft some dyes so your Champions Armor will match
The way I look at it the 2K tp for $20 is the buy, the rest is bonus lol
Not really. The Isengard expansion itself costs well over 3k TP. So for an extra $5, you get WAY more content... all the content you need to get to level cap.
Well for me coming up with another $5 is difficult. I'm "unemployable" but not qualified for aid. If there is a crack I will fall in, I live between a rock and a hard place. I spend most of my time doing for friends and family, for no charge. I'm just too nice a guy.
Looking at the scholar it looks like most of his compartments is stuff I sell by the dozen; excluding vases and such. Some of it like dye components and candles I have been saving for quite a while figuring to sell. I've seen the vases, erns and such everywhere but couldn't get them; meaning I know where they can be found. Don't know about burglar though, I'd like to run a magic using class for a change.
The only reason I think the burglar, it was they can sneak. Any class of one's choosing is just fine
What bytes being a scholar is Tier 1 materials, Getting the Scholar Tier 1 mastered was a pain and took me a long time, in the mean time I was saving up my Teir2 mats.
The mats for Tier 3 seem to drop from everything.(well maybe not everything, just drops a lot) Not sure about the higher tiers, I'm not at a level to be able to gather tier 4 and higher.
the Nodes (the Vases and Urns) that you can get Scholar mats from, are not as numerous like wood and Ore Nodes.
I Tried the LM and RK .. I just couldn't get the hang of the LM early on, but I love the RK, Leveling one up now.
What I'm seeing with the RK unlike the other classes I played The RK can easily swap duties between DPS or Healer, Just reaching that point that I can start doing that.
I went with lore master but is a weak character. I can understand the very weak hand to hand, but the spells take so long to get off, and so long to cool down that my character ends up getting beat on waiting to be able to attack again. And that crow is little help. I can see where eventually this will be a strong character, if she lives that long lol
I'm also having trouble completing the intro to the scholar craft. Seems to be stuck on open crate. I open the crate, do the scroll of minor scholar lore and...... she never acknowledges it, I've done it 3 times, it's still stuck at open crate. I need to switch to another character to gather materials again; what they can.

Cancel the quest and wait out the 24 hour timer. Until she see's you open the crate the quest will not progress to the next step.
This one does seem to bug more than not, on my new characters I would do all the craft intros to get 21 ingredient packs per character and on two of the four this one bugged.
Also try logging out of that character after you cancel the quest and wait an hour or so log back in and try to get the quest, I had that happen once which surprised me greatly.
Ya, that's what I did, but for some reason there was no real cool down time. I mean I couldn't do it again last night but could this AM; and am already at journeyman, just need to finish a few more intro quests, then back to crafting. Got plenty of gold and sienna die now lol The main thing for me is the craft journals though.
Loremaster isnt your usual magic caster. She's more like a CrowdController & debuffer, that has some skills that also happen to do the damage, and most of her damage dealinfg stuff isn't instants, but DoTs (Damage over Time). LM can do quite great damage, if traited for it and properly equipped, but their strenght is in 'divide and conquer' maxima - a proper LM can pull group of 5 mobs and then fight them one at a time, keeping other 4 busy in other ways until firstone is dead.
Scholar can be tough to level as a single character who has to gather all his/her own materials, but it gets a lot easier with a few other characters who all pass the scholar mats they get from loot drops to the scholar alt, so I think you should be OK in that regard. It just requires learning to recognize what items are scholar mats. Dye materials will say in the item description that scholars can use them to make such-and-such color dye, but the regular scholar mats for other recipes just have vague descriptions like "A strange old trinket, the study of which could prove fruitful" or "A stone tablet fragment with some undeciphered runes upon it" or things like that. In fact, whenever you find an item whose description doesn't say what it's for, there's a good chance that it's a scholar mat.
Lore-master isn't the easiest class, but it can be a lot of fun when you get the hang of it. It also gets easier as you gain a few levels and earn some more skills. At low levels you'll need to be careful, particularly about pulling multiple enemies, as you don't yet have the skills that a higher level lore-master would use to keep the extras off of you while you fight. Do you have the bear pet yet? It tanks better than the raven you get at the beginning, so you have more chance to finish your inductions while the bear keeps the mobs off of you. (The raven will be useful again later, after you have the skills to make use of flanking, but through the early game, there's quite a while that the bear is your best pet.)
Lore master is taking a while to figure out. After gaining a couple more spells I can handle most mobs my level or 1 or 2 higher. But only one at a time, other wise I end up getting beat on waiting for cool downs. Be nice if she could use wooden clubs as well as a staff. Seems a druid like character could use any all wood weapon. The staff is slow and doesn't do much damage, so clubs would be nice considering how often my fights end up hand to hand. Or wooden hammers for that matter.
As far as collecting components it seems half the stuff I used to toss/cash out, were components for scholar. Just one good run through the barrows will net a lot of components for the scholar. My guardian is just getting to the barrows so I see her doing a lot of running back to the house to drop stuff lol My champion is in the lone lands now and my hunter is about mid way in the north downs. If I need to stock up on components for the scholar my hunter owns the barrows, so he can gather a lot fast. I know there is one crypt, fairly big but seems pointless except to stock up on scholar components. I get drops there I haven't gotten any place else.
Ok what is with the pipe weed? I ran in to quests about it early on, my farmer keeps finding or getting seeds for it, but what good is it? It doesn't seem to be a component for anything so I guess all I can do is sell it. Just seems as prominent as it is it would have some purpose.
It seems I am spending more and more time playing musical characters; jumping back and forth as characters unlode drops and pick up components for their craft. Then spend a fair amount of time crafting. Been trying to figure out some way to stream line this so it takes less time, but aside from crafting areas being added to the neighborhood center; where the bank and merchants are, I don't see a way.
My hunter{tailor} is having a hell of a time trying to keep my other characters in armor. They are gaining levels faster then he can gather the hides to make armor. It seems quite often the character isn't questing is the right place to gather the right hides for the level armor they need.
Is it just me or does it seem some recipes are just imposable to get from drops? I don't mean high level or even rare ones. Right now my hunter has various holes in his armor recipe lists. Nothing rare, the rest have all been gotten as drops and many many times. But it seems there is one here and one there I never get as a drop or can find at the auction house. Of coarse they are in the store if I want to drop the TP on them just to fill in an armor category; like say heavy leather padded leggings to have all the heavy padded armor recipes. With 4 characters going and me always saving recipes it seems I should have all the low level ones by now, yet I don't.
I think I know which recipes your referring too, I have the same missing ones (so it sounds like I do) I would need to log in game to recall what level. When I look in the Tailor - Lotro-wiki, it shows they are Vendor but I most times forget to check the vendors.
Oh I know that feeling of shuffling through characters, I have 6, but only leveling 4, the 2 I'm not leveling ,one is my Jeweler/Cook, the other is my Metalsmith/Tailor, they just do their crafting in Est, tho the Cook sometimes needs to go to MD, to use the Superior Oven there. I'm hoping to get enough TP (before the sale ends) for another Milestone so I can have one to Thorin's Hall and Est. I may end up when purchasing my house, getting a Dwarf neighborhood, I like their homes and the Location to Thorins Hall, but I do not like the Surroundings
Journeyman, light armor, level 18 heavy quilted robe. Not sure why it isn't there, but I've started a personal quest to buy all the armor recipes I can find. I don't think where you're shopping makes a difference.
Journeyman, medium armor, heavy-leather helmet. That's the 2 I have been hunting for and just can't find. I figure if I can't find them at the auction house I'm not the only one not finding them
My lore master is up to 15th level now and getting worse. For a bit there she was holding her own, but as her level has increased and her enemies gotten tougher, her spell damage hasn't increased. As it stands her staff does more damage then her spells. At this point if she could get her attacks with the staff off faster I'd never use a spell. The time it takes to get a spell off just isn't worth it; with what little damage they do. There has got to be some way to increase the damage these spells do or they are worthless.
Seems the hunter is the strongest class I have played so far, in fact I think it is way over powered compared to the other 3 classes I have run. If I were to do it over I would have 4 hunters each with a different craft. I don't think the hunter needs to be weaker but the other classes need to be brought up to par. The champion isn't too bad, but the guardian needs a range weapon besides throwing a rock, and the lore master needs his spell damage to keep up with his class as well as being able to use any all wood weapon like a club, hammer, or javelin. If I had the $ to open more character slots I would do all of the classes. In fact it is what I am used to doing when beta testing lol
LM depends on will/fate to do damage with spells, is he wearing appropriate clothing and jewelry? Lots of light armour have bonuses in might and agility, not the prime stats for LM. This, and you may want to slot some apropriate virtues too.
PS you can make characters on every server, so you can try other classes on a different server.
Thank you, Turbine, for listening and giving us an opt-out of FE! Good work!
but the guardian needs a range weapon besides throwing a rock
Your Guardian just hasn't gotten to the point where they get the ranged weapon skill. Both Bows and Crossbows come in at Level 30. And ye gods, going through the Lone Lands without any ranged pull skill (aside from the hobbit's rock aforementioned) is a pure and undiluted pain in the butt.
Although I wouldn't really mind if the ranked skill came earlier for Guardians, even if only by a bare handful of levels.

Weaponsmiths can make throwing axes that anyone can use. They work quite well to pull things with, as any pre-Riddle Burglar can tell you.
I played my LM yesterday, Had nothing to do with anything you're doing with the LM (that's just a coincidence), it's because my Jeweler had a Polar bear recipe , and I needed the LM to be 14 to use it (I had stopped playing the LM at 12) I was struggling to kill anything at level terribly. I looked what I was currently wearing .. oh , that was my problem, Jumped back on my normal account that has my tailor .. and noticed I was wrong what I read and posted above, well wrong about the recipe I was talking about was vendor, it's the dropped one, and he only has the lvl 18 shoulder pads, and that's between the Apprentice and Journey drop only Tailor recipes.
So ended up crafting lvl 12's, because that was still better then the Armor you get from the first quest rewards , yeah that was my problem, After I got the armor mailed and now wearing . . I kinda liked the LM, still confusing for me tho, but got him leveled up where he can use the polar Bear now
Like Hatter_of_Bree mentioned, getting the right armor/jewelery bonuses helps a lot
Apologize for the short story there, really came here to mention I was wrong on the Vendor recipes.
As already mentioned, you can go to another server to test drive the other classes, it's what I did. Just keep in mind that you're just test driving and not to spend any TP on them. Also it's another way to gaining some extra TP, It's not faster earning TP,(just more characters to earn) but since you have played through those levels, it may be a bit faster though
I'll have to check my LMs armor, I know it's light but not sure of the stat bonuses. same with the jewelry. Both made by my other characters.
Farming is expensive. I cleaned out my LMs silver bring up her farmer skill. But it seems some of it is useless. I still have no clue what all the pipe weed is about, I see no use for it but to sell. Same with the flowers, what do you do with 140 bluebells? After finally having all the ingredients for my cook to work on leveling and making food for my other characters I realized all her recipes are for prebattle stat bonuses. Nothing to aid in healing after a battle. Maybe I haven't gotten that recipe yet or maybe there isn't one, but I remember some food I got early on that was regenerative; brought your moral back up after a battle.
Pipeweed used to be a 'semi-recognized' hobby. There are lots of differnet pipe smoke animations, and you used to be able to get best ones by crossbreeding the standart sorts. With the farmer update (same where we got Monsato-style seeds(apprentice, journeyman etc) instead of carrot, onion etc) we alos got the pipeweed farming restructurized, so basicallly you now need a crit to proceed on next level of growing pipeweed. So pipwedd is a good hobby, for when you want to relax in company of friends and puff some smoke like Gandalf.
Flowers itself is also at most part a vendor trash (some may got used in making drinks), but their crit drops are ingredients for dues, so lots of people grow fields of flowers just to have these rare drops for dues recipes for their scholars to make. Since there is always someone who would like to get his clothes all red, all burgundy or all black, dyes sell. And you also can do some recoloration of what you got, making you look less like secondhand shop client and more like a respectable citizen.
There are several types of food recipes, you should pay a visit to cook NPC vendor and check, and also check AH. Some give stat bonuses, some give regenerative properties and some add resistances vs some types of attack. Many regenerative food also remove the debuffs - wound, disease, poison or fear. Many drinks have no other effect that to get you drunk, but high level fine drinks have their own fine properties.
Ok then, where do I get a pipe? I mean I can't smoke pipeweed with out one; unless I can get some papers. lol
Didn't have a lot of time to play this morning; I usually get an hour here or there, so I was trying to process all my components for all my characters. Both my farmer and cook got their masters, and there was the cook recipes I wanted. They are master class cooked foods like beef stew. Still, seems like the components for foods have to be bought; unless there is a butcher craft I don't know about. The idea was to save some silver by making what I needed, but I can't make any of it with out buying the ingredients, so I'm not really saving any silver.
Seems my hunter can hunt and skin an animal, but is incapable of dressing/butchering it. I used to hunt, I know a lot of hunters, one of the first things you learn is how to field dress an animal and butcher it. Be nice if they would at least let my hunter dress a rabbit for cooking.
None the less, next time I play I have still got a lot of processing for crafting to do. Most of it is for stuff my characters have no need of so it will mostly be to sell. I'm a bit apprehensive about the auction house, I mean I haven't done it before so I'm a might skiddish. Most of what I have to sell is gems I am way over stocked on; well apprentice and journeyman class gems. And an abundance of crops. Weapons and armor I sell by the dozen to venders just to use up the components. I don't think there would be much demand for most of it. I figure most people are looking for that extra special stuff, which is usually a one time recipe and I save those for myself But that may be like the gorgeous cheerleader with no date, everyone assumes she has one already so never asks.
Edit to add. After looking at those tables and rechecking with my character I must have just been looking in the wrong place. Sames most "cooked" foods are regenerative. But it was the expert/ hardtack rations I had gotten before that were regenerative.
Ooh, they already have a pipe. And no one said anything about the % bonus. Now that sets my mind to working. I used to smoke a pipe, when my family found out, I suddenly had a nice collection of pipes. Yes, different pipes smoke differently, so they could actually add special pipes; the ravens quest to retrieve the meerschaum lol A low level say 5-10th, you must retrieve the wizards stolen meerschaum pipe from ravens cliff{or what ever}. If you do he will give you the one a friend gave him as a replacement; that he doesn't like at all. It would add 1 more to that % bonus.
Works for me
My hunter looks like he can blow a smoke ring, my scholar can blow a fully masted, with sails, ship. That's just sowing off lol But now, after crafting, I smoke a pipe, and go to questing
Ok, how do I move a few of something to a character? I can't figure it out and can't find it on the hoykey guide. I want to split 100bags of pipeweed by 4 charters.

Hold 'shift' while moving the srtack, That opens up the splitting dialogue.
Thank you, Turbine, for listening and giving us an opt-out of FE! Good work!
Can burglar use any kind of ranged weapon? I saw knives for sale but once you throw it its gone so not very good option and sometimes i feel need to pull mob instead of sneaking behind him.
Can burglar use any kind of ranged weapon? I saw knives for sale but once you throw it its gone so not very good option and sometimes i feel need to pull mob instead of sneaking behind him.
At level 38 you get the Enrage skill, range 20m.
Consumable items is the only other option.
Ya, that is another oddity. Knives, hatchets, axes, that miss I can understand losing. But hits should be retrievable. Something else I used to do as a kid for fun; all there was was 4 channels on the B&W TV or AM radio, so us country kids found ways to amuse our selves. Figure misses out doors are gone, good luck finding that knife again; till you mow. Inside a miss will likely brake or damage a knife bad enough for it not to be usable again.
My guardian has similar issues. She can throw a rock that does 10pd; maybe, stuns about 1 in 15-+. Or disposable knives or axes, which really isn't practical. So most of the time I just wade in and start pounding lol
My hunters leveling has slowed to a crawl, he's 35th level and has out leved the area he is in. He's in the north downs now but most all of his present quests are green or blue; I've got the gray ones done; that he has found, since exp pay out is low when quests are that far below your level, eventually I will catch up to quests his level.
Seems all of my characters are having this issue. They have some how out leveled the quests they are doing. Not sure how this happens. Some times it's a matter of getting to a new area to find you have out leveled the quests there, but I still try to do them all even if it is just for the rep points.
My hunter is 35th level and about mid way through the north downs. My champion is 27th level and about half done with the lone lands. My guardian is 22nd level and about done with the barrows. My loremaster is 17th level and finishing the quests I can find in the shire. They are all working on quests that are blue or green, I have white quests, but I like to finish the low level quests first.
But what would be nice would be some way to check to see what quests are available in an area and what one's of those my character has completed. I seem to be forever stumbling over quests I should have done a while back; like quests that are 5 or 6 levels below you, and once done unlock more quests of that level. This slows leveling to a crawl because the exp pay out for mobs is so low.
My hobbit guardian lacks 2 quests from having the 75 in the shire, I'll be dipped if I can find 2 more quests. This is why some sort of table that shows what quests that character has completed and what are still available in an area would be nice.
I'm still having to deal with limited transport. My hunter can zip around; teleport or what ever, to a lot of different places, but my other charters are limited to 2, one being my home. This really makes getting around a PITA, as I have to do the connecting stable runs; yes I have some fast transports unlocked, but that is only if the stable has them available. I've looked at unlocking a second mile stone for each of my characters; that would be 3, but that gets costly fast and what TP I have left I need to save for quest packs. There has just got to be some other way for my characters to get around with out spending TP or going all horse back.
Its a bit outdated, plus navigating is a bit complicated ( Shire http://lotro.mmodb.com/quests/startingzone-shire/ will list only a few quests, not all Shire quests, while checking some areas of Shire - per example Frogmorton http://lotro.mmodb.com/quests/startingzone-frogmorton/ will get your list of quests in these areas) but other that physically travelling into every area there is no way to check if there is something missed.
Travelling issues is like that. Going VIP and unlocking swift travel for your chars will aomewhat solve it, but still there always will be long horse rides. Just remember, we used to get horse only at level 35 and after a long and arduous quest chain. On other side, this will keep Middleearth look really big.
You can check the "ride thry MiddleEarth" videos on Youtube, that take ride from one end of MiddleEarth (Forochel) to then endgame (Mirkwood) area. If my memory serves well, its ~100 min real time, compressed into 10 min onscreen race. watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-0c4...eature=related

Let me quickly mention some easily overlooked quest chains in the Shire...
Seems all of my characters are having this issue. They have some how out leveled the quests they are doing. Not sure how this happens. Some times it's a matter of getting to a new area to find you have out leveled the quests there, but I still try to do them all even if it is just for the rep points.
That's become quite a problem in this game. Turbine keeps raising the leveling speed, and now it's hard to finish an area before out-leveling it. A lot of us have been asking Turbine for some controls over our leveling speed, so we can slow down or temporarily stop gaining XP while we try to catch up on our quests. Apparently they've begun work on something of the sort (though I don't know any details about how it works). It was originally supposed to be made available shortly after the Rise of Isengard expansion released, but they had some problems with it and pushed off the release of this feature. No word yet on when it might be available.

There are a lot more quests than are needed for the quest deeds, but At 22nd level, nearly all the Shire ones will be grey. By default, grey quests (i.e. ones you're significantly over-level for) don't show up on the mini-map, so they're hard to find. If you don't have it set yet, go into Options, under the UI Settings tab "Misc" heading and select the check-box for "Show Trivial Quest Icons In Radar". (Note: this option is set per-character. You may want to set it for each of them.)
Also, if the quest is grey, the ring icon over the NPC's head will also show up as grey rather than gold, which makes them a bit harder to spot. (The "Show Trivial Quest Icons" option doesn't change that part; it's just for whether they show up in the mini-map or not.)

Each race can eventually earn a racial trait that gives a port (Men to Bree, Hobbits to Michael Delving, Dwarves to Thorin's Gate, and Elves to Rivendell), but you have to be level 29 before you can even begin the deed that earns that trait when finished.
There are also quite a few reputation factions that give a porting skill to their home region once you reach Kindred standing with them. Unfortunately, by the time you reach Kindred, you're likely finished questing in that area, but some of those are still useful anyway, particularly if it has a good crafting center or if the nearby stable has a route to where your questing has moved on to since.
In MMOs in order for people to feel like they are progressing they need to see their level going up. This might look good to start but then you end up in my position. My 35th level hunter in the north downs has found 2 villages with task boards, both dead, I had out leveled them before I found them. Meaning I lose out on all those tasks that usually pay out rep points. Which means he is in a bind to make rep points with those factions.
Although he is at a place where he can make some more rep points with Thorin's Hall, he is several levels above the quests so what exp he gets is limited and the items are useless; his weapons and armor already far better then he finds or is awarded.
Thanks', I'll make that change to my UI setting. By turning off the floating names I can usually see the gray rings; well see them better. Doesn't mean I haven't ran past the same NPC with a quest 3 or 4 times before I see it lol
The problem I am having now for crafting is needing superior facilities. Which is a PITA. My tinker needs a superior forge to work down the platinum ore, then needs a superior work bench to make jewelry from it. The forge is in Thorin's Hall, the work bench is in Esteldín. And she doesn't have fast travel to Esteldín yet. Yes I know once I have the rep I will unlock a superior bench in Thorins hall, but she doesn't have it yet.
Ok, now for the questions, Plugins. I thought the music one would be cool so downloaded and set up kmabc, and downloaded a couple of songs in abc format. I can't figure out how to get this to work, and once I close the menu it is gone, I have to relog my character to get it back; has to be an easier way. And I never did figure out how to load one of the abc songs. Maybe I picked the wrong plugin, or there needs to be a simpler tutorial on how to use it.
EMO also looked cool and does work fine, but gives me yet more clutter in my HUD. Wish there was some way to minimize it to a simple icon.
These are the only 2 I have checked so far, not sure if I want to check any others, afraid I might screw something up.
Unless the quest chain has some special interest or you are a completionist, I would move on. Many have explained Lotro and it's leveling issues above. I would head to Rivendale/MM or Foroschal and start in those zones. To work grey quest unless needed for a deed are IMO a pure waste of time. Maybe even hit Angmar if you are feeling tough. Possibly the quests for northern ND near Angmar (drakes) or the Hillmen to the NE might be non grey. But not by much. My goal is to stay in yellow to red quests and mobs to get the best return on my time invested.
Yes, that would be me. Like I said I do them for the rep points mostly, and the TP for finishing quest; not sure what numbers pay, like for my hobbit it's 2 more for 75. That is 15 TP so worth the effort.
I may have 2K+ TP, but that is for quest packs. So I still need to work on TP for other stuff, like another bag or another character slot. Or maybe even my fourth riding skill lol
This is mostly with my hunter. I'm learning with him that you really don't want to grind that much. Not saying my other characters aren't high level for where they are at; most of their quests are light blue, but I haven't done the TP grinding with them that I have with the hunter.
The way the exp system works I'm not getting much exp for gray mob kills, so it would seem at some point I should catch up with where I should be. Just aggravating I'm missing out on those tasks.
"My goal is to stay in yellow to red quests and mobs to get the best return on my time invested."
One of my goals is not to die, the only time I specifically go hunting orange mobs is for the hides.
There's actually an XP *penalty* on red quests and mobs to discourage people from doing them - if I know I'll ding another level with a red fed-ex quest I'll grab it anyway, but the best thing to do to level is to grab as many quests as possible from a reasonably on-level hub - dark blue to orange. I'd even grab some light blues if they were mixed in there - the XP isn't as good, but turning in quests that are mostly on-level always helps.
Make sure to turn in the lower-level quests first - that way you're less likely to ding and therefore get less XP for the rest of the quests. Can be a problem in some areas - the worst for me was the Waterworks in Moria because I got caught mid-revamp and we had a disappearing NPC problem - by the time the NPCs showed up again, my white quests had gone grey, but at least I finished the quest deed.
Does any one know anything about the plugins? I downloaded several I thought would really be a help, some work, some don't, and some don't do what I expect.
I thought Completionist Tracker would be a boon but it seems to call on a windows application I don't have the serial for; windows office or something.
MoorMap ver 1_17a looked cool but the more maps it adds are for the far upper level areas. The map markers you can set seem like a great idea but I haven't tried it yet.
I've tried both kmabc and song book but nether seem to work, or I just can't figure out how to make them work.
Emo-2.2.2 is nice but it adds another tool bar to an already cluttered up UI, being able to minimize it would be nice.
I have a few others I haven't tried yet, but I get frustrated easy and have a bad temper so after struggling with these plugins I ended up deleting them all out of the folder.
I actively use DailyTasks - for helping me sort trash.
Moormap is fine, mostly for the reasons of having lot more marks on it and for ability to add your own ones.
Other that that, i havent done lot with plugins.
Need add, music can be played without any plugins , "fat Lute" has info on how to do it, along with lots of ABC files http://www.thefatlute.com/Tutorial.aspx
PS about your woes with "Completionist Tracker" you should read its information more carefully:
Please note:
It is not a plugin
It does not pull info from the game automatically
It is currently only available in Open Office Calc format (3.2.1+). Open Office is a free open source suite very similar to MS Office. The tracker will most likely not work with Excel versions.
It does not contain Monster player content
Thank you, Turbine, for listening and giving us an opt-out of FE! Good work!
I tried that tutorial on how to play music, game just keeps telling me usage:/play <song file> [index #] [sync] . It seems simple enough not to need a plugin, but I still can't get it to work. I think the issue is no index #, and I'm not sure how to index them.
I'm just going to have to give up on this, I have a feeling this will be one of those things that will drive me crazy trying to get to work, but never will.
you may want to pay attention to some of the Task board turn-in's, not always do they add Rep. Not sure if that is suppose to happen or not, but i really dislike it when I turn in something and noticed after I turn in there was no Rep, I'm getting better at reading before selecting some task.
If I know what the turn-in items are, and once I out level the task board, I actually still keep saving the drops for it, for my Lower up-n-coming characters, Specially if I'm still in that area.
The Shire Broke me early trying to be a completionist , I really dislike doing Shire quest.
My RK was my latest to grow up, when I was done with the Northern Brees Area Quest, I had 3 directions I could go next, Barrows, North Downs, Or Lone-Lanes, I had decided on Lone-Lands. My Choice was based on Racial traits, and some other deeds I could earn early while I was questing. Lone-Lands was my better choice.
if I had tried to complete every thing in order, I'd probably have 4 characters in the same position as you, I would always be in search of quest and feel like I was leveling slow, because everything was gray or light blue.
There is too many quest a player can do in their first 20-25 levels . . you just need to learn , to skip them and except the fact that to complete, you'll need to come back when they are Grey.
I don't do Red quest, It's not that I cannot do them, but the time it takes , is too long. Time spent and EXP earned is just not the Numbers I like playing with.
Purchasing another Milestone helped, but for me, when they were on sale, I could only grind enough TP to get 3 of the 5 milestones I needed ( I have 6 characters), there was time to grind out one more, but I wanted to get back to focusing on enjoying the game then grinding.
Determining which area I need to go next based on Class and Race, is what I use to dictate my direction,(when there is more then one way I can go) and that has helped.
Are these the right or best ways ? .. well for me it works out, others may have different ideas and ways of going that works for them
Hatter_of_Bree that is how I am doing it. If I give the title to an .abc file it says it can't read it. But if I select the title for a .txt file it just roles usage:/play <song file> [index #] [sync] up and does nothing. So I am at a loss as to why it doesn't work. Maybe I need a few more songs to check, I may have just got a bad one.
Simsiim2 I've looked at getting another milestone for my 3 nonhunter characters, but frankly I need to save my TP for quest packs.
But I agree about the shire, a lot of the same level quests means watching the quest colors go down while you are trying to get them done, meaning my loremaster in the shire is doing nothing but gray quests. They might be blue when I get them, but there are so many she gains levels faster then she can get the quests done. As in, she finally was working on the last 2 gray quests she had, started on the green ones, gained a level and now they are all gray. Logically with gray quests being lower pay out she should catch up, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Which is basically the problem my hunter is having, even though his leveling seems to have come to a stand still; I'm hoping he stays there till I can at least get to some 30+level quests. He leved so fast grinding for TP that all I've found so far in the north downs; once I got there, was gray and green quests, and dead task boards.
So you're right, worry about doing the TP deeds after your level. You still get he same TP pay out for gray deeds as orange. And once they are gray the grinding wont effect your level much, so you will be doing quests close to your actual level. that has been my biggest screw up with my hunter so far, grinding deeds for TP out leveled him for the quests.
