Well, not only Angmar, every QP is now 50% off for a week, so its great time to go on a shopping spree. Or TP grind precluding shopping spree. Though, it would newer be so low again anytime in predictable future.

On the task issue, i ususllay run the DailyTasks http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...emtracker.html plugin, it tends to tell me what is wendor junk, what to turn in and what to place in storage for other chars. It also has some nice databaze about the regions and mobs dropping correct task items. Though i newer care enough for going hunting specially for tasks. But usually my lowest level chars profit greatly from task drops acquired by higher level chars.

Max quest count available wil also increase with deeds you complete, but only up to 50 max.

Thank you, Turbine, for listening and giving us an opt-out of FE! Good work!

    My hunter could fill 50.
I had to drop all those fellowship quests in the north downs, needed the space. Seems for every quest I complete in evendim I pick up 2 more. I've probably got 20 or so there right now.
My hunter is finally gaining levels again and got his next craft level in tailoring. Only problem is I haven't seen the hides it calls for. Just got master tailor and it calls for exceptional leather, but have yet to see an exceptional hide.

Does that daily tasks use windows office? One of those plugins I tried to use kept wanting to start some window app I don't have the serial for; the app is installed but I don't have, this comp didn't come with the serial for it. Not something I use so never missed it.

Edit to add: My tailor must be missing a series of recipes. He has light leather recipes for 38th and 41st levels but none for medium leather. The medium leather armor my tailor can make jumps from 35th artisan to 42nd master. That is a big jump considering his recipes have been for every 3 levels; 25, 28, 31st ect. So now I am hunting for 38th level medium armor. I had some 41st level one time recipes and have already made that set; not a full set didn't get the gloves. But I'm puzzled why I can't find 38th level armor recipes.
Hmm, the lore book shows the Heavy Skirmisher's Armour is 38th level. Guess I need to find the set.

Unlike any other Craft, it's impossible, practically speaking, to Craft (much) over the level of your highest Character. Any other Craft can simply go somewhere dangerous and dodge mobs and farm the materials they need for the next Tier - Tailors rely on leather/hides, which means not dodging those mobs but killing them. Hard to kill something up high in the purple range, no doubt about it.

(The good news is that while the Player may want to improve the Craft Tier, the armour you can produce is still level-appropriate for the Character.)

Unless you have an alt who can get those hides, or are willing to buy them ($$$), or have a kindly kinnie who will kick some down, it just ain't gonna happen.

Those would be the L38 & 41 drop recipes (http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Tail....28Level_38.29). Try the Auction House, or intelligent mobs (orcs/goblins/etc) in that Level range. (Note that membership/reputation with the Tailor's Guild can give you access to L41 Guild Recipes that are superior to those dropped.)

    Thanks.

I'm having the same problem as everyone building up guild rep. Cool down time. One of the first things I do now when I log in is see if I can do a guild rep recipe. Wish I had been doing it as long as I could have, I'd have my rep up to where I could buy some of those superior recipes.

(and the crowd joined in the chorus!)

The short-term interim work-around is to buy cheap one-use recipes via the AH (or get them via quests/drops), and use shards from Skirmishing to try to crit those (or just accept non-crit, which are still pretty good). With superior Tools your % should be around 60%, so not too bad. (The Guild recipes guarantee the equiv of a Crit version.)

You can add the crit enhancers scholars craft to that as well, so you can get above 60%, IIRC.

I went ahead and got the misty mountains and forochel while the sale was still going. Now if they would run a character slot sale or bag sale I'd be happy. lol

(No. That might be mean. We should, however, mention that the sales will come around again eventually and he should keep an eye out. )

(Ahh, but we could point out, that if he still has TP left and some QP not yet bought, then it would be EXTREMELY FOOLISH NOT TO BUY THEM NOW. The sale is unprecedented, and most possibly won't be repeated in foreseeable future.)

Only got two quest packs left, enedwaith and great river. I have enough to get them, but that would leave me nothing when character slots or bags come up on sale again.

Taking a brake from my hunter, he still has quests spread across 4 lands. Running my elf champion right now. For some reason she only has 16 quests all her level and most in the lone lands; a few in the north downs. She's about to start on the last quests in the lone lands; well the west end quests lol The only problem I am having with her now is being 30th level, battling 28-30th level mobs; some real nasty ones, but still in 28th level armor with 28th level weapons. She has sort of hit her ceiling, she can handle 2 maybe 3 but only if one of them isn't extra nasty. So I figure she will be working hard till she gets to 32nd level and can put on her new armor. It may actually be time for her to quest in the north downs a bit.?

I really hope lore masters gets better, mine is still real weak at 23rd level. Ether I am running her wrong, or she is going to be a weak character. I've read through a couple of lore master guides but ether I missed it or I haven't found a guide that tells me what stats need boosting for a lore master. Right now I lean her weapons and armor toward fate. But I think the only reason she is doing as well as she is is because she has the best armor I can make for her; used a bunch of gems and shards.

You will need them anyway, and getting them for half price now means you will get a way better deal that getting bags or charslots full price.

Champion, i think its time to check if N.Downs dont have better offers, since your last quets in LL amy be quite hard ones.

That is good thing you are doing with LM. You may also want to concentrate on LM virtues, and get her some armour/hp boosting ones. This is where being F2P really bites - you need open all these trait slots piece by piece... That and also gettign her pet boosted up and trying to keep it tanking. You now have bear, so you will use it almost always unles yu gainst udead where shadow mitigation from raven may be better. Try check LM guides about the pet control and survivality boosting.

The level 30 class quest should give her a good weapon - do it as soon as you get it.

I didn't find my champs to be squishy levelling up, so other than that I'm not sure what the problem is - armour and weapons don't change every single level, no matter.

Loremasters primarily want will, vitality, morale, and crit. Fate is still around in abundance, but doesn't do a whole lot for any class anymore - it does provide a small amount of in combat power regen and a small amount of crit, but straight crit and straight ICPR (which you won't find much of at 23) will be more useful down the road.

Loremaster picks up when you get the lynx. Loremaster is a control class; you will need to use your bear well for now.

Most of the time that bear is more of a hindrance then a help, like I said he draws a mob faster then .50cent tacos. I usually wait till I am at the camp, entering the crypt, ect before I call him up. Running through the wilderness with him is like carrying a big flashing neon banner.

Whats with the boats in evendim? I'm searching for info but what little I can find says they are for swift travel only?

Found out just how tough my hobbit guardian is, I was running along in the lone lands, but it was late and I was getting dozy and ran off a cliff lol had to fall right into the orc camp I was headed to and had 5 of them on me immediately. Took a bit but I finally dropped them all and didn't use a potion. The funny part was someone stood there and watched the entire fight, then ran off once it was over lol But that hobbit is quite the little tank even in medium armor.

About bear - You should check your bear settings on pet bar - it looks like he may be in agressive mode, thus picking up fights with anyone in the range. He should instead be in guard mode - ordered to stay near you and fight only if you or he get attacked, or if you send him to attack someone targeted by you.

Evendim boats indeed are swift-travel, so locked if you arent or havent newer beed VIP. Annoying, but Everswim was coined by players for a good reason in the past.

That is pretty well how I have the bear set. But I have him set to defend himself, and a bear lumbering through brush just seems to draw a lot of attention. I usually run the crow/raven out side, he's a great help with archers and doesn't draw mobs.

If your Character runs past "grey" mobs, which are much lower level than your Character (>8 Lvls lower), they ignore your Character - they don't suicide. However, your pet is never as high-level as your LM is, so they might only be "green" (6-8 Lvls) compared to your pet, and so their aggro is grabbed by your pet even if not by you.

Just another consideration. (Altho' I've used this to my benefit when doing Slayer Deeds over-level - set the pet on "do nothing", run thru several targets, let them congregate, then turn the pet loose and/or use an AoE attack.)

One of the items I won was 2 maps to forchel, I assume they are some sort of tellaport?

Seems you are lucky one with lotteries

Yes, the maps to Forochel is one-time teleport. Return ticket not included. You may want to hold into these for if you do epic, you get sent all over Eriador, then these will help greatly.

Thanks. I put the maps a way, don't know when I will be that far along, stuck in evendim right now. Or at least my hunter is.

Think it's time to park my hunter again and let my other character catch up. He's about to be 40th, next is my champion at 30th, but she moves up fast. I've been running her better so she doesn't have any lower level quests, all hers now are white.

Next is my guardian, but my loremaster is about as bad as my hunter. She has a lot of lower level quests because she is having a rough time with some of them. If I have too hard of a time of it I will leave it and come back when she is stronger. She is working on the last few quests in the north of bree before she starts on the lone lands.

Seems once you have been through the lone lands with one character it is a lot faster and easier with the next. My hunter took a while because I had a hard time finding some stuff, now that I know where to look my champion is moving right along. Also after going through with my hunter I knew what quests where in the same area so I know what ones to get. If you do it right you can get 5 done in one run.

I have yet to figure out how to link/post a picture to a thread, I can only assume that is a VIP thing, because I have tried what I know.

Use image tags. I think you just put the picture's link in tags like this:
    [IMG ]Link[/IMG ] without spaces.

Huh... I've posted images before. I need to check what I did.

Oh, wait. Image codes are off in here, I guess, according to this section.

Ya, I tested and could put a picture up in another forum. guess they don't want the freeloader section swamped with bad screen caps LOL

My hunter got close enough to Forochel to check it, he was on a quest just south a bit; wanted man right at the border with evendim. All I saw was red lettered moose and wolves. Part of my hunter persona is being a big wolf and bear hunter so I tried one of the wolves. I won but no way I could handle 2. But I got an excellent hide, found some ancient iron and silver deposits, and made it back with out dieing lol

Problem is he got his 40th level and I watched a bunch of unfinished quests in evendim go green
I don't know what to think of evendim, I finish one quest and pick up 4 more. It's hard to finish quests in an area when they are heaped on you faster then you can finish them lol

When I have time today I am going to work on my lore master, one more level and she can move up to new armor and a new weapon. Then I can run and back track some unfinished quests. I believe I have new jewelry waiting on her to level as well.

    Help, I blew it.

Book 3, chapter 4 part 2, free Dori, he didn't make it, I got caught up fighting 5 he drew; she drew, Dori could be a female name lol. It's gone from my quest log now, I assume I can pick it up again, but forget whom I got it from.

Also, how do I access this inspiration buff from the elf stones?

I might be wrong but you get it in Esteldin from Halbarad. The elf stones when you are in the area they can be used you can click them otherwise they are automatic.

Once I remembered Halbarad was in the scholar guild hall I talked with him. He doesn't give it to me again just says he's not surprised Nelie refused the call to counsel, and gives me another quest. Which is actually book 3 chapter 6 part 1.

So now I am all confused. Was that escort mission really a one shot thing? Halbarad isn't offering it to me again. I tried to start it from the cage/cart but it just says I don't have that quest.

Hold up, using a bigger shovel I have found I got the quest from Hanner in nan amlug west in the north downs.

Got it and good to go.

Search phrasing is the bane of my questing lol

The Wiki is not without its flaws, but for basic "where/who" sort of questions, it's pretty good.

I usually get frustrated trying to use the lore book or the wiki. I usually use google, and it takes me to the wiki or lore book to what I couldn't find. LOL

    Thanks all.

Rescued from the bottom of the page.

I've just discovered Overpower for the guardian. I have to drop my shield, but can use a two handed weapon; hobbit with a headsmans ax O.O. The overpower with the scroll bonus does some devastating damage fast, but my guardian loses one main and a few power up attacks. Not sure if it's a good trade because she is often caught waiting on cool downs. I'm on the fence on this one, not sure which way to go because I can always equip easy ether way. I'm not sure of the advantages of sword/shield over overpower/twohanded, or if there are situation where one is better?

S&B obviously means better survival. OP (2Hing) usually means more damage faster. You should trait for it if you have the red traits, and earn them if you don't. You may need to wait til you level up and acquire more OP skills to be effective.

Nakiami I hate to say it, but I didn't understand much of that.

Now to a rant. I'm sure you have ether read this or made one yourself. Crafting guild recipes.
Yes I got my reputation up with the tailors guild and hit that point where I had to pay the 250TP to unlock guild cap. I hadn't been to the guild for a bit so I hadn't gotten the guild recipes. When I unlocked it, and went to the guild hall I sort of went nuts and bought all the tier 4 and 5 recipes, then looked at them.

Are you shirting me? It's going to take two weeks to make one set of medium armor, seriously? I wont need it by the time I have it made. So to make armor for my other characters I need to work on armor 10 levels above them so they don't out level them before I get the armor made. More over my tailor can't make armor for himself because he can't make armor 10 levels higher then he is.

Can I get my TP back on this one? I can think of several things I would have rather spent the TP on then unlocking this fairly useless guild cap.

When you get to level cap, you will be capable of making some of the best items in game... and asking big $$ for them. You can craft the guild items and store them until you are high enough level to wear the armor. Yes, while you are blowing thru levels quickly it doesn't make much sense... but you're not always going to be blowing thru levels that fast.

    OP = overpower
    2H = twohand
    S&B = sword & board (shield)
red traits = the class traits with a red color (The Keen Blade line, which I had to just look up)

Nakiami, I'm a lvl 53 guardian on my first char, and I found your explanation distinguishing S/B from OP to be very helpful. +1. Thanks!

I agree, the long cooldown on low level gear is kind of dumb. Its there to keep you from having mid level gear at the new level cap on day 1 or something, I guess? Or from running a monopoly business making armor on the first week or 2 of a new area? Not sure what the justification for it is. The crafted armor is only barely usable at top levels and time you wait for a full set you have already started to replace it with the hard-earned gear.... duh.

You can make the stuff with single use recipes if you want a full set: no cooldown, but you have to find or buy the recipes and use the rare components and you can fail to crit (get a lower quality version of the armor).

My advice is to not even try to make a full set of low level gear. Pick the best upgrade for your current gear, and make that item. There is no set bonus to the stuff, so just use it to fill in and upgrade as best you can. You will get plenty of great armor and weapons from questing. Also note: over time, once your guild rep is max, you can start to stockpile the weekly made guild items. If you have a pile of them you can make a full set of armor --- each recipe is on a unique cooldown so if you had 10 of the guild items in stock, you could indeed make a full set of gear at one go. This is handy for alts, but not something you can do for your first character.

Nakiami thanks, I got it now. After playing last night it seems OP is great for bosses but bad for mobs; several opponents. For several opponents I need all my attacks so I'm not caught waiting for cool downs, and I need the armor bonus of the shield. So I'm still not sure if I want to build up the OP or stick with sword and sheild.

I craft guild items when I can then immediately turn them in. My loremaster is 25th level, the first guild armor I have is 31st level. The light armor takes 1 medium expert pattern per piece, and has an almost 3 day cool down. So a complete set is 6 pieces and takes 18 days to make. I figure by the time I have it made she will be closer to 40th level the 31st. Same for my 28th level guardian.
Next up is the 41st level armors. Which might be good for my 3 lower characters once thier level get there, but will do my 41st level hunter no good. I assume the next set will be 51st, but at the rate I am going by the time I can actually get the recipes and make the 51st level crafted armor, he'll be past 51st level. So I have to wonder if the guild crafted items will do the crafter any good?

Then there is the cost of it, or the rarity of the component for it. For the 41st level armor one of the components require a polished adamant, the actual pieces of armor calls for an adamant shard. Polished adamants I have more then enough of, shards, forget it, I don't have any.

Just the way it looks if I was to burn the time and gems to make the armor, my characters will have out leveled them before they are done. It also appears due to the level requirements of the guild recipes that they will do the actual crafter no good.

At this point in time I doubt I will pay the TP to unlock the guild level caps for any of the rest of my characters. Just seems to be a waste of TP. Unless your goal is to spend all your time making armor for other people.

Yes, that is about right up to a point.

Unless you progress very slowly you will not be using the guild items on the character that earned it. However if you start a lot of characters you can do your weeklys and have your guild and crafting higher than your alternate characters, so its an issue for your main character but any others can get ahead of the game. I have a couple of very low level characters that can make up to the latest expansion (when they made you need rep and high level things to continue to craft) quality gear, so up to level 65 items I think? But those are characters that have been idle for a year or more. I see no way for a new player to craft their own stuff totally before out leveling it, as you noted. I think you are supposed to interact with others and trade, etc.

You can skirmish for the armor components, or buy them off the AH, or find them as loot now and again, and some can be earned with quests. It is not that hard to get an adamant shard, if you really wanted to do it. It is just another time sink, spend money or time to get them. Honestly, you probably should not waste skirmish marks on these at your level --- best to invest in your soldier or skirmish gear than shards for crafting, but you could if you wanted.

You do want, eventually, to have guild access on higher level characters. The crafted relics are important and powerful, and most characters want the highest tier of those once they get to the appropriate level. This can be done much, much later, save the TP for other things for now is my advice.
