Thread: Why the obnoxius Captcha to log into My Accout

Why?

This isn't about the process of registering an account I have to deal with this obnoxious intrusion EVERY TIME I LOG IN.

Why?

This appears with CHROME but not with FIREFOX, I shouldn't be penalised for using a superior browser to those you 'recommend'.

I would be interested in why you believe Chrome to be a superior browser.

However Chrome was the first browser to to be defeated at Pwn2Own 2012, by a French team who used zero day exploits to take complete control of a fully patched 64-bit Windows 7 PC using a booby-trapped website that overcame Chrome's sandboxing. It was also compromised twice at the 2012 CanSecWest Pwnium.

Aside from that, implementation always lags behind browser develpment. I remember when Firefox was not able to log into many financial web sites due to "insufficient level of encryption, 64 bit needed." This when Firefox had 128 bit encryption.

Considering the risk that someone could potentially find a way to hack the turbine website, I'd rather suffer 3 seconds of "punishment" than have my financial info stolen. How punishing is a captcha anyway? Really? is your time so valuable that a captcha is just takes too much time? drama queen. Lol...."punisnment" seriously?

For what it's worth, I get the Captcha every time I log in with Firefox. (Running FF12.0 beta)
It may be a pain, but it's not like I log into the myaccount site very often. I would rather turbing implement some sort of SecureID type check for both the game login and the account login.

Also, I think FF is superior, but it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Odd, I don't with FF11. Maybe my Privoxy proxy blocks it.

Trouble with Firefox these days is Mozilla org's arrogant disregard for their users, causing problems with add-ons due to version changes and most recently knowingly breaking a widely use add-on and then telling their users it was their own fault for using an add-on; didn't affect me as I don't use it but if they do that for one I don't use they can easily do it for one I depend on, I am looking for a replacement , I no longer trust Mozilla.org.

I use Firefox 11.0 and I get it every time. As much as I dislike Captcha, it's there to protect our accounts.

good joke.
if someone is able to write good skips to attack the page he also knows how to bypass captcha or just break through it.

it gives only security against all the "hobby" hackers and to reduce the website load caused by them.

for the turbine page: you have 5(or even more) places where you could login into your account just with username and password. only one has the captcha stuff. security through captcha?
