I'm assuming you look on your Turbine Account page at the "Signup Date" to see where you stand for the anniversary gifts?
On another note, I have been stockpiling fireworks from all the lottos the last year or so for this very anniversary! So I have about 12 stacks of different fireworks ready to go!

Since this is a fireworks-themed event, will the normal (i.e., summer festival) fireworks be made available? I'd love to complete the fireworks deeds so I can get the title & extra tokens....
thanks for epitomizing how important pvmp is in this game
Five years of LotRO and not a single event to even acknowledge or reward creeps. Considering the fact that, prior to RoI, you needed to be subscribed to play a creep, it's amusing to me that all the subscription rewards are for freep characters--I somehow doubt even frilly profile frames will make it across to the other side of the Moors.
Maybe I'm being a bit hasty, maybe there's another really cool super secret Moors event being planned that will once again consist of a GM playing a warg, getting zerged by 20 freeps, and then logging.

You guys are getting the special frames. And sapience said something about gift boxes...
Will these anniversary items be given to all characters on your account, and will they then be given to each new character created on said account in the future?

For the European population that migrated from Codies to Turbine during the summer of 2011, I am personally curious if the Anniversary bonuses will function as intended. During migration our join dates were resest, right?...
Is there any information confirming that we will be elligible for the bonuses basis our correct join dates 2007/2008, etc or it has not crossed the minds of anyone at turbine that ther is not history for the EU/Codies population?
Is there anyway I can found out my join date, I know its 5yrs (ish)
I recently moved house (and country) and my account only shows when I changed my details this January just gone, not my start date for the game.
If you are a European player, log in into your Codies account that was connected to your LoTRO account - all details are visible there by clicking the game picture. Turbine never recorded it on our account page on migration.
The protrait things are great. I have 3 accounts that joined on 3rd July 2007.
Have to say this strict "sound" reasoning of the designers in regard to the dates is a little over-serious and not sportsman at all. Since this is a game and I should get something for being 5 years in the game as of summer as well - and it should be the same reward anyone receives for being 5 years playing in April...
By the way, I have a founders account how come he will not be treated as a founder....for this 1 subsription I want to be treated as 5 years old despite signing up in July... I want a gold thingy too!!!! ;-)

Cheers,
how/where exactly do you check this? logging into the codemasters site is no longer possible since migration.
Because that wouldn't be five years. They're already giving a two month grace period for those that weren't playing on launch day.
Yes but I did start playing the game within its first year and its fifth anniversary will last until its sixth funnily enough, no excuse just very disappointed as a lifetimer.
I have a question about this anniversary event and gifts. Possibly a silly one that I know the answer to, but it's too tempting not to ask. So... If I, for example, played the game for 4 or 5 years, but mostly on a different server (not connected to the US/EU ones, but still official) I am probably not eligible for the 4 or 5 years rewards, right? Even if I experienced the game for that time and was a dedicated player.
Managed to find some dates on the codies site, im a little worried because it dates me at 2010 and as a free account, ive got the founders box and played well since Beta.
There is also a beta one which states its still open and that was in Feb 2007. Im confused and worried. I think they have mixed my dates up.
Edit: nvm for some reason i got 2 accounts, I don't remember making a 2nd but I got it lol my proper account has the launch date, much better ^^
I read the it as "anyone who created an account with the orginal content available at launch is considered for the 5-year gifts"
Please stop whining.
___________
As a side note all of us who were in the beta at any time before launch could argue that we also want our own special portrait. I haven't read the entire thread but all the negativity is just too much to read in one sitting.
This also leads into the argument of what "Founder" should mean.. original lifetime subscribers?..Beta players?...but that's a whole other can of worms and we all have our differing opinions.

Well it's a feedback thread so I'll give a bit of feedback and confess myself disappointed. Why? Because;
In EU I had a master account with two subscriptions. One was for the beta and another was the subscription I've used since. (From what I recall, I couldn't use my beta subscription to continue playing on - though I am starting to wonder.) For some reason, and I guess it had to do with what I just said, I only got the 4 year gifts.
The beta account was clearly within the 5 year window - I still have the confirmation email from back then, when I made it. And what's more - that account isn't even shown if I log into https://myaccount.turbine.com/ - all I see there is my main account.
I have submitted a ticket and depending on the answer I get there - I may become less or more disappointed.
As for the FAQ:
I have multiple LOTRO accounts on my master account. What happens to me?
Each individual eligible account will have the appropriate gifts applied to it.
Now that isn't a clear answer. Does it mean every subscription is checked for individual gifts? I guess it does. If that's the case then I'll be very sad.
I mean I can't even see the beta account, which leads me to think they just threw it out the window with the EU transfer.

Per the Anniversary Gifts announcement:
When will the gifts be granted? The gifts will be granted to your account at the beginning of our anniversary celebration in-game on April 17th, 2012. These will be based on the status of your account* as of 11:59PM DST on April 15th.

I am glad to see the fireworks getting a little more attention. Its nice to see we will have a few new activities to play with. Being an avid role player and also being a member of one of the many great in game bands we have in Lotro, I have always enjoyed the fireworks as being part of our shows when we can afford or find them. I would like to see us be able to purchase more fireworks throughout the year. I also do so enjoy all the mounts each festival.
I must confess that it is the music that hooked me and a combination of role play and putting on concerts with the band, is what keeps me here. So I must ask. Are we ever going to get any attention again in the music department? I know most of us cannot stand that new, out of tune, over loud, glorified kazoo. (By the way. If you was to ask us, most would say we wanted a fiddle or violin type). It needs fixed! More than that though is the fact that we are limited in our octave range. Couldn't someone there work on this for us as well. Another octave up and down would do so much for the bands of Middle-Earth. I can say as for myself, I have had to shelve numerous songs over the octave range. If these little things was to be addressed and fixed. I could honestly say it would breath another few years of life into the bands.
Well, enough of my begging and pleading. My last words shall be of praise. Thank you guys and gals for the best game out there. You have given us a great world and much great content to entertain ourselves with.

Keeper of Gift? I think not! I've found better items at a redneck yard sale. Farmed tokens for Westfold Gift Boxes for a couple hours. After earning 20, I turned them in and received: 2 morale potions, a hope token, and ~drum roll~ 1 Medallion...yes 1 medallion folks. What a waste of time. Not just myself either, other members of my kin got similar junk ranging from 1 single item of trail food, a weak cosmetic that was available during winterfest, and a firecracker which you can already purchase from a vendor for the event for a few silver. Seriously Turbine?? True, the fireworks and quests are awesome......but your hype on the tokens is a steamy load in my front yard. Better luck next year.
Started on this thread after reading the other "round up" whining thread. Decided not to read any further, but wanted to say: THANKS FOR THE STUFF! Thanks for giving us "surprise" rewards that have nothing to do with how hard we may or may not have worked in the game.
And to those who think it's not fair because of the cutoffs....
If you got your current rewards without knowing what the other rewards were, would you have been pleased to receive them? Were they decent rewards, that you will enjoy and appreciate, and your main objection is "but I want that one TOO"? How very two-year-old of you!
Edited to add: ah, yes. I forgot. The above also goes for those who say clicking on a box to receive free stuff is a waste of time. Spoiler alert: You spend your game time pushing buttons to make the pixels light up in the patterns you want.... and you are complaining that when you pushed a button, the pixels didn't light up the way you expected/wanted. Get some perspective, dude.

I love what I've seen of the Anniversary Festival so far.
The "fireworks" theme is a wonderful fit, and I really look forward to getting the Fireworks Festival steed on a few of my characters.
I was especially pleased by the gift giving quest line, and Gandalf's Middle Earth Fireworks Tour. It's great to visit all those iconic spots once again, and remember how they felt the first time I came across them in the game.
Kudos to all who worked on the 5th Anniversary, and all the game content in the past and still to come. Happy Anniversary to all my fellow players too - may your fireworks be ever bright and your adventures always bring you home safely.
This anniversary festival is a huge improvement over last year, I've enjoyed it a lot so far. I especially loved the placement of the envelopes in Bree - stuck on the boar statue and the like. It felt very "thought out" to me, when it would have been so easy to just have them all lying on the ground in 20 random spots picked via dartboard. It's those little touches which make a game in my opinion, it shows enthusiasm from the designer and not just a "get this out quick so I can go home" attitude.
I hope "Sleepy" maintains that enthusiasm for the game in future development efforts, because this is an excellent start.
