Thread: Is the only way to get the Festive Azure Steed to be a 5 Year vet?

Or can we use tokens to unlock it like the 4 year stead of last year?

Give it a few months and it'll be available for 20,000 points in the store.

I know, right? Eru forbid that those of us who took a chance on the game from the very beginning, get a small token of exclusive appreciation. I can't believe the way people are reacting to someone getting something they can't have. Feels like elementary school.

though I do think that this would be better served as a veteran type system, where the anniversary rewards are auto bestowed on your next login once your account passes the date requirement.

So to get all of the awards for being signed up for 5 years (like the steed and the character portrait frame), do we have to be a VIP? Or will being premium still be enough to reward us with those things? Or even free maybe?

From one of Sapience's posts, and the MMOrsel article, it seems they will be available for VIP/Premium but not f2p

First, this year's equivalent of last year's steed is the new anniversary festival steed, which can be earned by anyone, and is separate from the Azure steed, which is only available to those VIPs and Premiums who have credit for 5 years. Second, if this anniversary festival starts a trend, I'd imagine those who get the 4 year rewards this year, will get 5 year rewards next year, etc.

I've read nothing about the speed of the Festive Azure Steed. So I guess it's just 62%, Not the faster 68%. So why anyone should make a fuss about it on the forum is beyond me.

Ultimately the only beneficiaries are vets just starting another freep alt.

As the 5th Anniversary Gifts page says:

Our Premium and VIP players will also be eligible to receive additional gifts for each year their account has been active.

I really hope this is the case, but being the naming called 5th anniversary, i wouldn't bet on it being this way. Or that would have already been clarified with bluenames.

So yes, we have one horse everyone can get by grinding tokens in beer brawl, and another only those who joined game in first months will receive.

I agree that if you want a horse that is a reward for being a 5 year player, you should have joined at start!

It wouldn't be much of a 5 year reward if it was awarded to everyone now would it?

Also, I have a theory that they are using this anniversary event to sort of "test the waters"/beta test a veteran rewards system. I am thinking this due to how the anniversary gifts are given, you don't get "Y [type] Gift Box" to claim your reward[s], you get "x[st|nd|th] Anniversary Gift Box".

I like that idea a lot. I have a few 'younger' accounts that I am kinda bummed missed out. But if there's a chance down the road that a vet rewards system will catch those accounts up, that would be awesome.

The Azure Steed is my favorite steed so far. I can see why people would be bummed to not get one and never be able to get one.

I'd say after a year, make it available somehow. I'm sure in a year they'll have created another steed I want even more anyways.

Totally agree . . I just started so I don't feel bad about not having access to a free 5 year gift . . but always being 5 years away would be a disappointment .. but always being a year off may not be so bad .
