Looking for some Guidance/Tips as I approach lvl 60
I'm back to the game after a long absence and am currently working through Moria, (currently lvl 58 rune keeper)
I've just about hit Artisan in the Tailor Guild (probably tomorrow).
I'm looking for some guidance on what I should craft and do next.
I'm thinking I will make the lvl 58 master gear, but the mithril flakes are fairly costly (don't have enough for a full set).
From what I understand the next set of gear for SoM (is lvl 60-65), and this is gated by faction (that I will get as lvl through), and once I hit RoI, crafted gear is pretty sparse until lvl 75?
I do like crafting what I can wear as I level for a reward to my efforts.
I'm pretty much soloing my way up to cap as just not sure how easy it is to find instances or which ones I should do.
So my questions.
Will the lvl 58 gear have a decent life or will it be quickly replaced in SoM?
It sounds like I do want to craft lvl 65 gear as there isn't much for a while in RoI?
I'm currently advancing my guild rep as cooldowns permit, but unsure whether I will be able to craft any gear I can use until the end as I may get the required rep in time but not enough patterns to make much.
Any one have thoughts or tips as I continue my journey?

The best available for your level is the Moria barter set - the Moria instances are run pretty regularly (keep an eye on your server's glff channel or equivalent) so getting the medallions for the 4 pieces shouldn't be difficult even for a soloer. The other 2 pieces come from the Watcher raid which will be harder to find groups for. But the medallions can also get you armour pieces that aren't part of the set which will fill those 2 gaps.
Whether you get the Watcher set or the L58 crafted set, it will be good enough to get you to 65. And when you enter Dunland you'll find that quest rewards are on the whole superior to any of the <65 armour available. So you'll probably just use quest reward stuff up to 75, at which point you'll decide which L75 armour set to strive for.
The armour you get access to in Lorien and Mirkwood is quite nice, but not a vast improvement and by the time you have enough rep to wear it you're going to be close to entering Dunland anyway so it's not a great investment of time.

Stop crafting for now. Like the above poster said, you'll get better gear, easier, from the instances. My lvl 65 Moria gear took me all the way up to 75. But do continue to loot your crafting ingredients, and craft those for the time being. Don't go to the AH to buy ingredients, save your money (you'll need it for all the Rhi Sigils for crafting the lvl 75 gear). If you level well, you will outlevel your armour before you've crafted the complete set anyway. If you craft, only craft things that get you guild reputation.
When you hit 75... start crafting again. It's so much easier to farm the stuff you need to become master of the guild. After that, there are the lvl 75 guild recipes for you to get your teeth in, rewarding yourself with a nice Theodred / Great Rivers armour set.

You said that in another thread, and repeat it here again. The Moria set is lvl 58-60, not level 65.
There are also a lot better drops and crafted items on the way through Dunland, but that everyone has to decide for themselves. Logically, there is no point in keeping a worse set if you get a better replacement for free or little investment.

There is a normal lvl 58 crafted set. There are also lvl60 recipes that need, among other things, Lothlorien rep to make - they are quite costly. Lastly, there are lvl65 crafted purples that are decent and need no rare materials, but they need Malledhrim (Mirkwood) reputation.
There are indeed few recipes on the way to 75. One milestone to look out for though is lvl 70, where all crafts get at least one dunlending recipe that produce very very nice gear.

Thanks all for the thoughts/tips.
Given what was said here is my plan.
I will make the lvl 58 crafted set, I think I have enough mithril flakes to at least get a couple crit pieces.
I will see how my rep is when I near 65 in mirkwood and if it is close I'll see about crafting the 65 stuff in mirkwood if it isn't I'll just move on.
I'll just use quest drops and such to replace pieces once I hit 65-75, crafting the few odd pieces we get recipes for along the way (if they in fact are better than what i have when I can use them).
Along the way I'll keep doing the guild crafting to have that done by the time I hit 75. Then at 75 I'll start looking at which crafted set I want first.
Last question that isn't really tailor related but since i"m here. I was wondering when best to head to mirkwood. I was thinking maybe 59ish, or should I just wait for 60?

instead of stockpiling mithril in the hopes of getting a crit, check what your guild improved recipe vendor has, as they will have the crit version of the single-use recipe you're wanting to make. they will still take the special ingredient, but instead of using a tailor's journal to increase the crit chance, you will substitute a large guild symbol.
when you have enough rep with the galadhrim, you can acquire their rep gated guild recipes from the barter vendor in the vineyards. this stuff is good enough to get you to 75, but at the very least, get the teal moria set for your class. i did this on my LM, augmenting the 4-piece set with the loth shoulders [i was fortunate enough to get the helm token from completing the vile maw (watcher)].
i agree with the others that the mirkwood stuff isn't significantly better than the guild recipes or the crit loth stuff. it'll be nice to have the recipes, but using them would be a matter of preference.
speaking of mirkwood, the area is a 61-65 area, so the earliest i would head there is 60. if you decide to start your trek into the dark forest, get the 2.9 prologue out of the way, run around loth some more, then head into mirkwood proper once you get to 60-61. mirkwood can get you to 65 very easily. as an alternative, you could bounce around northern enedwaith as well. that area was leveled down a bit from a 65 only area to a 60-65 zone.
