You guys need to come to the moors again, freeps need help badly.
Uncoordinated freeps are getting destroyed in raid v raid fights worse than I've seen since I started coming out to the moors.
If that's the case for you, you just havent been around much. Yesterday, sure, we wiped 3 times *attempting to open F, but that was far more a tactical error from myself than the "uncoordination" of freeps.
Unless I'm dreaming, after Cel left on Sunday we wiped V/Y 3 or 4 times, raid vs. raid, even numbered. And unless I'm plainly out of it, I'm fairly sure I saw you around when it was happening.
Second star to the right and straight until morning... til you reach Neverland...

Re: Vanguard
Oh wowsers. Crell?
You created Vanguard over here on Elendilmir? Riddermark's pretty good population wise nice, so this comes a bit unexpected. I've got a few buddies who will be absolutely thrilled to hear it.
♥Wargs Rule!♥*But only because we have no playable feline races.*

When i first saw vanguard on elendilmir i thought the same thing, was highly amused to learn it was firefighters renaming their kin. now there are two raiding kins named vanguard :P
You're the freep raid leader I respect the most at the moment because even though you have random PUGS with you, still keep coming back and you don't hide in NPC's (mostly).
That being said, anytime the fight is even close to equal numbers you guys have been getting destroyed with almost no losses. The other night in an hour and change I made 3k inf and 0 deaths in a 20 person raid.

Sylidor is currently the only leader on freepside.
Sylidor is currently the only leader on freepside.
The only competent leader, something freep side has been missing a while. Aside from FF/Vanguard coming out once every 3 weeks or something.
Chio - Zerg and still hides in NPCs
Alzie - Hardly leads, mass log outs after 1-2 wipes
Celderon - Keep flipper
I don't blame sylidor for the 'uncoordinated' feel to his fraids lately because Freeps have been so used to solo zerging for the last couple months. You can tell by the lack of focus targetting on their end and complete lack of captain bubbles / rk healers. At this rate though freeps will get more used to fighting together and the mindset will change from a solo zerg one to a team oriented one.

Alright, excuse me and my corpse jumping this morning then. Apologies.
As for reading through, yes, in comparison to when I used to lead a year and a half ago (with the likes of Leon, Kriptic, Bugzappa etc. still around), there has certainly been a drop in teamwork and focus fire. I can tell. But I'm trying to remedy that with every raid. Even just this morning, for example at the the open field at cot which you were involved in, we combined the balance of surviability (aoe) and dps, (focus fire) which yeilded results against even numbers.
The other night was purely my fault, I don't blame anyone else but myself.
Think of it as been a gift to you guys
"full red map? Better raid up. But let's not camp GV, that's bad for pvp"
L000000000L
just cause the map is red or blue doesnt mean there aren't raids running around or large fights to be had. Laugh all you want. Freeps raid up during blue maps too. Just make you look naive
How did this turn from a Vanguard post to a Pvp war regarding Freep and Creep leaders? There is a learning curve whenever you come back from a extended break and try to lead. From both the leader's perspective and the group you are leading(especially if they are leaderless for a while) discipline needs to be reworked and build..trust, and tactics with the changes that are made, etc. A little more discipline and focus and things will start hurting creeps a bit more.

And those freeps are equally bad, being so defensive about it means you're part of the problem, HTH.

Because people who actually enjoy large fights against coordinated enemies are only allowed to have such fights according to this anonymous poster's schedule....

Not what I said at all, suggest you read first post. And if it doesn't click, read again.
with Alekirios Fan Club already taken, what other options did they have?
Sadly with only one actual member of the Alek Fan Club, the Kin was disbanded.

+ rep.
Wish I could add more. Coming back from a large break and leading is incredibly difficult/time-constraining and challenging.
But don't worry, the discipline/trust/tactics you're talking about will soon come back into line - hope you guys like pain

For some time ive revised the forums and the looks of them are not at all alarming. I already saw this coming. I am no way a keep flipper. Pve is not my thing. For all else, all i do is use the keeps as my defensice tactics. When we are outnumbered, when there is nothing but to be camped at gv, i sneak into a keep and take it. There is one thing to use a keep as a defensive strategy and another very different is to go all crazy and start flipping keeps like theres no tommorrow. LC for example is a keep i wouldnt even take for the lack of protection there is from it. Therefore ive changed my tactics for the past month or so. The idea is to introduce as better more fundamental open field fight like everyone expects. Ive scouted areas, gotten to know some relly good fighting areas within. Overall my change in tactics is only on the basis that it just doesnt work. It worked before U6 but long now ive realized that a new projection needs to be put in place. Therefore youll be seeing much more coordination from my part in the up coming week (april vacation) and further on. I am seeking consul with new ideas from many raid leaders who have discussed how to focus targets much easier, decrease lag now a days and much more that can then yield to the basics of open field fights. Thank you if you read this and thats all i have to say on this matter.

Original 3 'FireFighters' were 3 actual firefighters that played a game called "Delta Force." Name (FireFighters aka *FF) appeared in late 1998. Name stuck around. Our first kin leader Maverick and several others (Titaniumfox, Vandal, Kansas to name a few) all knew each other from Delta Force, Delta Force 2, and/or a few of the CoD games.
A few of them created an *FF group in LotRO right after launch in 2007. It didn't last back then. Two years later in 2009 the conditions were right to form a new iteration of *FF. This is the *FF that carried on until two weeks ago, and all existing *FF in LotRO now play under the name Vanguard. Reasons for the name change are our own.
Within the game/interwebz we are all gaming friends. Some of us step beyond that and have met outside of the game. Our inbred nature brings deformities (ask Kriptic about drunk-dialing Mav to inquire about raiding over Christmas vacation) as well as beauty spots (ask Meraithe about our "An*l Friday 'Moors Nights").
I, however, am the bleating black sheep. My role is to bring dishonor and petty judgment against us through my actions in the 'Moors. In this endeavor I am effective.

@ Krista, it brings a smile to my pale girlish face that you never liked our old name. We subsist off of your misdirected QQ.
@Stickeez, grow bolder with your pet names. Tepid humor doesn't suit you.

I learned the hard way alek. I learned that when there's 2 massive raids out the space lc has to offer may see suitable but also vyxe taught me a valuable lesson and that is keeps won't stop him from rushing in lc and basically running in and out the other way basically proving that lc is not reliable and it would take an awful lot of manipulation on my hand to control such area to my own will. In an event where a keep is necessary for defense, I would not use LC unless I was given enough time to plan the inc. of the creeps into the keep. I'm still planing out strategies and you may have a different view on it alek. I will gladly take your input into consideration

Grow bolder in fighting ungrouped, low-ranked creeps and stop jumping off cliffs to deny them points when they might actually get a few scraps of inf for throwing themselves into your geared/organized/skilled group.
Tepid point denial doesn't suit you either.

You do realize that the creeps NEVER are forced to engage you right? If you pick an absolutely impregnable position... why on earth would we attack you there? (example... trying to draw us to 1 shots at Ost... that's silly to think we'd move up there)
And I like both defending and attacking LC, it's one of the best keeps for fast movements with a lot of varied terrain nearby.
Well, figured you all could stand some since it seems that you guys ran out and have been relying on forums bravado for some time now...
I laugh at every joke I make, funny or not... figured that someone who knew me before many others on this server would remember how much of a laugh-junkie I am.
