I've ben playing the game pretty much from the start. There has been times when I've taken long breaks for months at a time. But you get the idea.
My main is a lm, rank 11 and nearing 12. I also have a rank 7 burg, a rank 7 reaver and various other low ranked creeps.
I've been known to open groups and hold my foot on the opponent's throat(Farm them if at ever possible). This hasn't made me the mostly likable guy at times(Sorry, but not changing any time soon). I also run around ungrouped. And sometimes I small group. Whatever I fell like doing, or see fit. I won't lie, I like to get as many kills as possible. The other side may not be having fun, but I'm afriad that is just too bad.
There is a point to this rambling btw. I was wondering if some of the real veterans of Meneldor can tell me about your server.
I could lvl a freep to 10 right now and go play a creep to get an idea. But a few fights is never a good representation of the entire server.
I'm curious about things such as the server's overall outlook on raiding(Do you have plenty of soloers who complain about everyone else not soloing? Ultimately hurting their side from complete server domination?), are there many unwritten codes of conduct(I hate those. I don't cheat, but I will camp if someone keeps coming from the same rez point), does your server have a Freep Kin that runs just enough PvE but specializes in PvMP(If so, I may be interested), is there a lot of meta-gaming(Meaning arranged fights. When creeps and freeps stand around the same area and jump up and down when they want a 1v1 or something of this nature. I hate the 1v1 Fight Clubs. And they are becoming too common on my current server), do you have a lot of alt-farmers(Hate those too. Its like taking the checkerboard and tossing all the pieces in the sky.), but most of all I'm curious about how the action is at all the different time periods of the day.
I know that's a lot of questions. But I'm sure no one can blaim me.
I've been playing on Landroval almost 5 years now. There are many great people there that I would miss playing with. But everyone's general reasoning for playing the game has strayed far away from mine.
My reasons for playing are the same as when I first started off on Arkenstone. I chose a side and said, "I want to do what I can to make this side win the war." And I know there is no real winning. The game keeps going on. But I've played on 3 different servers. I can tell which side is basically "winning". Mostly due to the color that the map stays.
Landroval stays red for 80-90% of the time. The creeps are double the freeps numbers at many points of the day. And there is ALWAYS a Craid going on. And there are freeps who try to oppose them. And some of them do a good job. But there are far too many freeps who could care less and shoot for individual gain. They cry when a raid is opened, because there are less people to join their Fight Clubs(1v1s) or less people to roam around and find the random fights all over the map. I like shaking things up a bit, just like the next person. But very often this is just selfish play that leads to many others being helpless to get called out, mapped on and zerged.
But in closing, I'm a not a bad guy wishing others torment. I want everyone to have fun. But I do like to compete and I don't tend to let up when things are going well. Any detailed descriptions of Meneldor PvMP would be greatly appreciated before I hop on over. Thanks all.
* We have more creeps than freeps however I would say that freeps hold the advantage due to restructuring on creep side mostly because of a loss of some veterans.
* we have 3 main creep leaders that work well with each other
* we have 1 or 2 main freep leaders
* our raids avg 14-16 players.
* we are equal parts raid, equal parts all solo working as a raid.
* Our solo freeps have great coordination with eachother.
* PvP is pretty dead in the early mornings (eastern time) but alive all day otherwise.
* We have a mostly respected 1v1 circle
* Freeps and creeps are on good terms with each other and communicate to promote healthy pvp.
* We have coordinated and balanced raid battles on open fields
* Maps are usually red and blue, rarely all one color for more than a day. Sometimes we kill tyrants without flipping.
* Mostly we value challenge over renown. We try not to force the other side into a rage quit.
* Meneldor is well balanced between pvp and pve kins. A lot of the top pvp kins have in the past been at the top of PvE as well
* We are fairly friendly.
* Global channels are full of laughs
1. We do have 1v1s from time to time but as much as the creeps complain about them we dont have them all the time.
2. Freeps for the most part solo or small group friends except when myself or a few others form weekly raids
3. Alot of the Vet creeps left on this server(not all but alot) dont always give the best advice to the creep nor do they like to group up with new people(Like i said not all but alot)
4. Morning dead
5. freeps do have the upper hand 75 percent of the time do to new creeps and creeps not working together
Lastly I own the Moors so in order to visit them you must get my Approval
P.S. Websturz is the King of Creep side give him a tell when your in game
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
Considering you have 3 posts, I'd say its the same thing that happens to me when these ###### forums boot me off of them. I log back in and its automatically on my other profile.
Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans
If I'm the King, I guess Evilelmo is the Royal Court Jester.
Send all the tells you want, I've had them off for a couple months now.
Personally, I'd stay on Landy... it's where my toons are heading as soon as my ''probation'' period is over.
Edit: I see sigs are not working again.... This is Websturz/Hydrux/Gourdhead/etc.
Second Edit: You know I have to be the king... just look at my forum join date... Dec. 1969... Al Gore and I invented the interwebs.
Don't listen to Webs, he's just a bit bitter. Luv you<3 Can I be the princess?
I transfered my warg here from Gladden, it was good at first. Now it's meh. Finally got my mini to 75 over here. Freeps are nice over here, so are creeps if you know the right people. Careful over on this server cause people like to accuse others of being spies.** Great 1v1's on this server. Probably the only reason I've stayed.
**Edit: Certain creeps I should say. Don't brand the whole server as that. I don't know enough of the pvp freeps to say the same.

my only rule is dont star farm. if you happen to see a runekeeper pushing into a bunch o creeps. u better be right behind him. this server lacks ppl who just dont care abot raiting
Most of us don't care about such things. We'd rather be known for our game play than our "score". Quite a few of us intentionally lower our score/diminishing returns on renown.
Guess you're one of those preachy guys with a K/D under double digits.
Have fun feeding creeps.
No no, don't listen to him. Hobo's a nice guy but has a different play style. If you really wanna find out how it is here, may I suggest you get a freep to level 10 here, start up a newbie creep? I know you don't come here to play creep but at least you can get a head start on learning how things work around here
Points... I stopped caring a long time ago. I liked Rank 10 and the inverted flur de lis symbol(Flower of Death). Not digging the symbols for the Marshall ranks.
Mostly I'm looking for the server that freeps work together the best at. I hear E is good, but heard that no one can transfer there.

Is transferring still possible at all atm?
Transfers to any server are unavailable atm. Once this is fixed, transferring to E shouldnt be a problem.

I'll run right with you just say the word

My impressions on 2 seperate servers PvP.
Meneldor is usually Creeps forced to hugs Grams or OC one shotters, or freeps hugging EC. I dont get out here too much anymore because this is usually the case I have seen. Some others may paint a better picture of it. I am sure there is some open field battles but outside of what I have described you can count on a warg pack munching people when they retreat. Candy Mountain is suppossed to be a 1v1 spot.
Brandywine is a completely different story in my limited experiences. Its usually raid vs raid there in open fields with each side rolling over each other depending on the raid leaders. And the sheer number of people out is insane at times.
If I am going to comment in this thread I must explain that I am a terrible PvP'er. I equate my movement to a fat kid in a jello pool. But alot of that has to do with growing up on Meneldor and rarely enjoying the action that takes place out here, so I would go grind instances and landscape junk. I have also been in moors on Meneldor when the numbers were large and the fights being fairly balanced and had a ton of fun. Unfortunately it was always very rare occurence. There was a time when people on Meneldor liked to say they had some of the best moors action going. I beleive there were some creep transfers that bit on that statement and brought numbers with them, if im not totaly mistaken most of those have left.
So, if you are out in the moors on Meneldor and you are pinning the creeps to rez circles and one shotters and are enjoying that, understand that keeps alot of the casual people that may populate the area more often away....Just one jello covered fat kids impressions.

Truth. As was already said, most vets that played left or simply quit. The tribe I transferred with also quit. However, I really do suggest that you try it out here.
We are the victims of some veterans that wanted good pvp but were unwilling to try and make it good themselves. Instead they left for other servers where the hard work was already completed. Healz, skully, mirlin, hobo, giledor, esegar, running, elmo (vet) have all made a considerable effort to improve our gameplay.
Freeps have gotten face rolled the last two days so maybe things are changing on the camping. Though certain creeps have claimed to be having fun while camped and shunned any opportunity to change that situation.
I know Elmo was making an effort at getting freep raids together recently. I think it would be alot of fun if more freeps participated and made a regular go of things. My reply wasnt meant to #### on anyone, was just giving voice to what most of my experiences have been on this server. The times that are good here are relly alot of fun, unfortunately too many times have been rather lame and it seems like both sides were content to range fight near the one shotters. My biggest point I would like to make is that if more creeps/freeps would not do that there would be more people showing up out there. All it would take most times is for the freeps to move back closer to lugs and force the creeps to come out and play, granted this takes creeps gathering the salt to come out. I also mentioned that I play freep on BW and most times I have been out there the creeps push alot. Maybe that has to do with the population there and always so many that they play both ways.
Also I know there are alot of quality players here on Meneldor that do well for themselves in moors. Just wish it didnt end in staring matches so often. If more of the casual players came out and had open field battles it would go along way to strengthening the PvP here. How many times have you come out and asked where the action is and its either OC rez or Grams?

Sadly alot of what you sad is very true in the moors this day and i blame alot of it on 3 things
1. New freeps only wanting the armour so they're happy to farm anywhere
2. Creeps(experienced) not willing to work with new creeps as much
3. Biggest blame going to those who came up with the idea farming Comms for Armour(cough, cough you know who you are) if this didnt happen you'd seen less oc/rez farming creeps(yes i know it still happens regardless)
Im actually leaning torwards freeps being a bigger problem then creeps because of the armour though creeps come pretty close.

IDK The times I've been in there since update seems like there is less rez camping/oc. Granted I'm not in there every night but I remember before update it was rez camp/oc every single time I'd go in there for the few months prior of the update. Like I said though, I realize you guys are in there more than myself.

Im not just referring to rez camping/OC , im also referring to grams camping and zerging just to get the Comms because ive seen soooooooooo many new freeps and have watched their playstyle thats what it seems like to me.
BTW im a Moors rookie

Ohaidere, elmo. Moors rookie? if you're a rookie then I'm a baby. Anyways, Very true. Although I think there is some hope for the server, we've been getting away from those overlyzergy fights you've been speaking of. Just yesterday there were some really good fights with Healz's raid, and even some good small group things this morning.
We are the victims of veterans that wanted good pvp but were unwilling to try and make it good themselves. Instead they left for other servers
There is some truth to this but it would be very unfair to lump all veterans that have left this server or game for that matter into this category of "unwilling to try".

I would never lump you in that Category nor PD i know where your heart is but youve tried for soooooooooooooooo long.
Now the other chumps

What some of you weren't around for was all the spying/griefing going on in Meneldor's Moors. From FC'ing, to using Vent, to griefing/cheating/you-name-it... it goes on here.
This server's PvP population is too small nowadays. So small in fact folks log in and find themselves being the only one in the Moors. <--- that's NOT GOOD.

Ill have you know Butkus is quite content to run around the Moors by himself and do map quests.(Not to mention i suck at Reaver anyway in PvMP.)
