The other night, Trohwa and I Came up with a New Strategy for the Lightning Ring Boss.. Well, it was really by accident, but it works just the same.. Basically, You get a tank with good Tactical Mitigation (Me ) and Some extremely well practiced Healers.. The tank needs to run as far as he can from the boss when his static reaches Ten, then let himself get shocked.. Rinse and Repeat until the boss is dead.. (The boss only hit me for like 4k during each Strike of Lightning).. It worked for us!
Not new, and intended for use in T2. The shocking thing that happens at 10 actually gets placed and then explodes, if you can get away from it enough, you dont take much damage and your static drops to 5.
i saw a video with people fighting that boss for 20 minutes... really slow dps.
It's not a dps race, as everyone in riddermark seems to think. The battle can be done slow slow slow and not dying due to steam problems. We just don't know how to handle the Steam. though i have a theory and i'll try it next time i go there. Sadly nobody invites me i hate you all! xD.

Steam: 2 options
1. Ignore it (or move into it) use it to maximize dps. (Requires significantly more healing.)
2. Avoid it (or move away from it (use to improve survivability)
If you can't see it, mess with your graphics settings. Comes from the 4 sides of the room and disappears in the center.
If you get hit by a steam wave your steam teirs up by 1.
As for 'dps race';
Yes, T2 is very much a DPS race, what with the electrified floor, resetting storm stones, and all. (Even though the electrification is % based)
