Thread: Good fights freeps!

While Swordmonkey was leading, it started with us wiping you at DG and having nice fights all across the map! Killing you all in TA surprised us the most! Well I just want to tip my hats to you guys for actually sticking it out until it was all over! Well you guys did up accomplish your ultimate goal by taking the relics but it's all good! We all got nice points and can't wait for the next time!

I wasn't with them when that happened (Turbine GM was helping me with stuck in combat issue) and I don't know if this post is just a good humor post, since text can be misinterpreted but your mention of points caught my attention. Foob brought points up in another post too. Myself, I'm not shooting for r15 but if I was intent, a more speedy way would be to roll a 2nd account and farm it as so many used to do years ago who are now rank 10 and up.

I really don't get the obsession over points, especially now with p2w and ranks are not much of a gate beyond cloaks and the r9 horse freepside.

So if you're serious about the points thing, I'd love to hear why points are so important to you?

For me fun is more important, I spent an hour jumping on the grams rock and not trying to kill anyone and juggling or doing flips or mounting my horse in front of creeps. I can get commendations questing. For me, it's more fun having fun than seeking points in the moors.

K, so your anser is getting points is fun? I've gotten alot of points over the years creep and freepside but it's not my primary focus, what am I missing? Still trying to wrap my head around getting points is fun?

A good fight, one that I lose, is fun to me, cause it was a challenge but ganking greenies, that's no challenge, lots of potential points there. But I don't gank greenies farming slugs or picking seeds at hoarhallow or run down level 55 captains I come across in the moors creepside. Instead I take screenshots of me riddling them and then juggling in front of them or pouncing then doing the warg faint emote. Somehow getting points for points sake just doesn't seem all that fun to me. So that's why I asked.

This was a perfectly executed troll to a nice thread.

Keep up the optimism PG13 too bad some folks need to question why it was "fun." Instead of agreeing whether it was good fighting or not. I was not there so wouldn't know but this is a great way to shoot down a good thread.

Really don't care what the OP's intentions were, my concern is the game overall, so I could give a rat's if he's having fun farming or not.

I can't stand people who bring a mentality to a game and ruin it for others.

Think I'm the only one? Witness TvTs reputation on Brandywine, excellent players but how did they go over with the other creeps?

All you do is complain on the vilya forums how it's unlike Brandywine so plz stop complaining and go play on BW where you enjoy it more, just a suggestion for the benefit of how you like to play.

You for some reason have this ego that you can't back up, you're one of the worst ranked burglars in this game next to Josephthefarmer. FIrst, if you really don't care what the OP's intentions were, you're trolling. If you want to start a thread about how amazing your idea of pvp is, go for it. don't go trolling other peoples' threads.

I go out there to have fun, but i also go out there and try to maximize renown/commendations when im there. Its not a terrible sin to be out there for points. some people are motivated differently than you. Trolling their threads won't change that.

I have started said threads and I'm not the first nor the last to express disappointment, outrage or whatever over somebodys post. The LOTRO forums are filled with people saying they think the OPs an idiot (I've made posts about audacity in PVMP forums for example and had people divert the thread into whether burgs are OP or not and so needing or wanting audacity shows a failburg attitude) or for running mischief in the moors, posting photos of themselves on the latest horse in the roleplay forum. So if I'm trolling, I'd say almost everyone else in the forum is too. Disagreeing accounts for er...80% of any LOTRO forum, from roleplay to crafting to the burglar class.

If disagree won't change attitudes, why are so many threads a compendium of people doing it? Venting? Attention wh...? I dunno but to me a troll is someone who doesn't have a point to make, they're just rousing trouble for trouble's sake.

While discussing creep leadership that has been banned or missing of late, I pointed out that I thought Swordmonkey did well to which someone replied yeah, he's good but he has a life, we need someone like Rash who's on 24 hours but someone else said "yeah but he taught those new guys some bad habits" tonight while I was in group

1. I mention that bad play style didn't go over well on Brandywhine using TvT as example of who CREEPS complained about, ask on BW, I never complained once about TvT but they're still hated to this day over there. So your reading comprehension falls short. Bad play is not respected on any servers, as a matter of fact it was relayed to me, during a discussion about why certain players have been banned, that all you do is complain creepside, I pretty much just mentioned this forum thread and left it at that since everyone already knows what I think of you, so no sense in going on and just let them say what THEY thought about you. It was screenshot funny but I don't want to be rude and post something in group chat without their permission.

You also keep showing up at the rez after saying there's no point in staying at a rez

Tonight Sniffle was unstealthed laying down at wtab and we didn't farm him for points, then some reaver got a crush on Zara and Joe and we didn't farm him to the point he was following us around wherever we went. We watched Joe flip to his underlevels and 1 vs 1 the greeny reaver.

But when Arrowz showed with 4 wargs, defiler and a gold tagging reaver we fought by their rez.

Was thinking of your OOC comment about 24 creeps and they hide in TA once more freeps showed, that was when you were fighting 4 or more wargs solo and killing one and getting away on TA lawn.

I come out to the moors to pvp and when the map is blue generally the only place to do so is the rez or oc. Unlike the other day when it was a tr rez camp on a red map. Second, I know none of those in your group so why would they have an opinion of me unless you went on about some garbage like you do so often in ooc about me either running or ditching a group which you hips away from oh so often.

That's what makes bad play in the moors, complaining in ooc about a creep/freep who got away because they didn't want to give free points a group vs themself.

Pibb, you are under some psychotic assumption that everyone enjoys this game EXACTLY how you do.. and HOW DARE THEY enjoy it any other way. It's not about the points, it's about good fights in which lots of points are made. Nobody feels accomplished after they kill an afker.. but after a long fight that drew out 1k infamy/renown.. yeah.. that definitly feels good.

This is a game and you are getting so deep into it like its your life. you need to calm down or create your own i hate lotro/mylife thread to complain all the hell you want. bodycleaver is a nice guy and your just pushin him down like its bad to have a night of good fights/or zergs as you all call it. No screenshot retaliation for retalition, I was hoping you would eventually reply because you're almost unanimously respected by ALL freeps including myself, I don't think I've heard one negative thing in OOC or group/raid by anyone ever and as I alluded both in OOC, group and this thread, I remarked how I was glad you were leading raids. You're right, I wasn't there till the end (remember I sent you a tell about grams)although when I arrived, I did see several people complaining about being zerged, that's not your style, so I didn't attribute that to you oro your group although you yourself said you were disappointed that wouldn't give one last push to lugs. But that's a seperate matter.

You have your own opinion of the OP and experence with him but my impression from this post is a negative one. Because I don't equate good fights with points.

2 days ago when all the freeps were exclaiming how awesome creeps were because they were so many reavers pushing out of lug rez and OC and they were practically getting farmed, I could have said, yeah, great fights cause it's melee range and I was invited to a group and the points were raking in but I mounted my horse got on the rock between lugz and lug rez, I stood around unstealthed and the only time I bothered trying to engage was when I'd see someone like Raelith or to save a squishy from warg ganking. Eventually freeps flipped to creep and zerged the people who didn't. The guy leading the group at the time said "tag everything" but I didn't want to, for the same reason I didn't join in on the gank of peaceguy at TA lawn or bother farming Uzud at lug rez yesterday or bother ganking greenies when I come across them. Have you seen the wartab section of the forums with the rank 12 burgs who less than one hundred above rank kills and thousands of KBs. Are they enganged in good fights or just farming greenies at slug pit? Points does not equate to good fights. I can die, lose rating and be happy with a GOOD fight. So my point of view is it's attitude. If the OP had written his post but omitted the points issue and comments like "points flying over my head" when I asked for clairification then I would have been like, yeah, I love a good fight too, looking forward to seeing you in the next good fight.

EC zergs are deplored on Vilya. Tell me a single person who likes them freepside? But it's points right? So are EC zergs good fights?
I can swtich to creep and go for KBs or with Pibb I can get out of em by not going to EC or I can HIPs and map which I often do or play dead then HIPs and save myself if I wanted. But when I'm upset about EC zergs it's mainly seeing other nonstealth classes who go in there and have no chance at all. Reavers charge/brand pull NPCs healers with range and wargs go in, kill em, leave. Good fight? Points were flying over those creeps heads. Was it a good fight?

Let's take your tell to me about Icarium, theoretically, why bother sending me a tell if "it's just a game"? Why did you send ME a tell complaining about what was going on at Stab with Icrarium? Why bother? It's his fun, therefore it's all good, right? Speaking of which, didn't a ton of creeps complain and express opinions about Icariums playstyle? I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing but pointing out that a ton of creeps claimed he exploited, he HIPs'd, etc. but why bother if he's having fun? What would be the point of complaining about Icarium??? You did it yourself.

Why did Garsnuk and Lunmaz get upset at Chimer about being ganked AFK in EC woods then spend hours attacking him and the burg till they logged? Why do that stuff? Chimer and the burg were having fun and it's just a game, therefore it makes no sense, right? What do so many people say "don't go AFK in the moors".

Why does Garsnuk flip to Bothvi and express outrage in OOC about the hypocrisy of freeps when his WL got zerged in OC? The freeps were having fun and it's just a game.


I could have easily switched to creep and joined in on the zergs, got some nice infamy, increased my K/D ratio, got some KBs and rank up my creeps this past 8 months I've been back in Vilya moors. I could gank the greenies instead of dancing with them, since as you say it's pointless. But I gaurentee that's not going to stop freeps from complaining about zergs, creeps complaining about cowardly burgs who only fight greenies and HIPs and it's not going to generate good fights. I haven't seen a single soul type in OOC or group/raid, man I'm digging this EC zerg and zergest, I love getting farmed. But if everyone is different and the people zerging are having fun, what's wrong with those freeps whining about being zerged, I mean, it's just a game. Talk to the rank 12s and up on Brandywine and ask them about the summer of 2010 and what that was like, then get back to me.

I'm pretty sure I see Frizzle, Veldhar, Juppy, Ashendoom, Dahhu and almost every other creep or freep write an opinion on someone or something they think is good or bad in OOC.

Why bother reporting exploiters btw? They're having fun and it's just a game.

Why do people complain about burgs who gank greenies questing then camp CDs, rinse and repeat. Why the complaints about Taywen, why the complaints about ANYTHING at all? Why does Frizzle waste the time talking about Gnijda's endless supply of store brands that don't save him from FF? What with people posting names on their pets "comeoutofTA" or "cowards"? Why does a SINGLE SOUL complain about anything if everyone is different, having fun and that's all that matters? There's not ONE forum in all of LOTRO that doesn't have a complaint in it about someone or something. NOT ONE

Having seen dozens of rank 12 and up creeps and freeps share similar complaints on several servers, I gotta shrug at your characterization that I'm alone in my point of view. Just 2 nights ago I was with a r12 guard that expressed similar views.

Your first reply anticipated a screenshot with some retalition, which I did not do. You follow up with an insult (you idiot) rather than address my specific points, probably figuring "having fun" in any shape or form covers it, which is why I've addressed that mindset.

I had hoped you'd address my specific points rather than just "come to the aid of a friend" which while admirable, it just personalizes the issue rather than clarifying the issue further.
