Thread: BAD 1v1 Thread

Ahem.

I don't remember if anyone has tried this already, but the "good" 1v1 thread is being majorly polluted with "bad" 1v1s, so let's compartmentalize! (is that a word?)

Who better to start it than a notoriously bad 1v1'er?

A BAD 1v1 is (but not limited to):

2v1, 3v1, and so on.

a 1v1 becoming a 12v1

One of the 1-ers having issues how the other 1-er played

One of the 1-ers being over 3/4 health standing over the other 1-ers corpse. (my usual fight)


*In the interest of goodwill, perhaps outright flaming, while it seems to prevail in the "good" thread, I think here it will keep things more interesting, and uh, friendly, if direct naming is substituted with something like..
'The LM in the purple dress by Buffalo Beach' or something like that

pretty sure I'm the purple LM.

Look, I get SO MANY good fights out there. Constantly. All the time. It's beautiful. I loves it! That's why, when one goes bad, I get SO MAD and rage over. Flippers are bad right? But rage flippers are worse. When I flip, I don't even get commendations. yikes. that's bad

For every rage post, I have at least 15 good fights. Pretty good ratio.

Daizee, only time I raged at you was when you were on your freep. I usually just /sit with your warg unless you're like super fiesty which, come to think of it, is only at a certain time each month.

Bad 1v1 from the honorable soloing champion who runs through bears and still gets owned.

Bad 1v1 moments: when you are close to winning against one freep and a BURG.. comes out of nowhere and gets the killing blow on you then a hunter comes up and sets a fire on your body. ahh the memories! -Haz

I just had a horrible fight with a warg...


There were norbogs and Dwarves and Stuff and water falls...

Then we just collapsed together and watched the stars in the sky.

I was having an awesome 1v1 with this shiny, sparkling guard until someone threw a pitcher of lemonade at me...

This is not relevant. I am a warg, I am only "feisty" as you put it a few times a year. You have lost all credibility now. Also, you have never /sat with my warg in your pointy-hatted existence. Stop spewing these falshoods and stick with the subject!

This thread is win, there is better PvP in here than Turbine has ever put out. However, why even bother bickering about a part of the game that has been broken since day 1? Seriously, this is chutes and ladders PvP; basically grade school level stuff because that's how turbine functions.

Anyway, look no one is really good here (outside of maybe 4-7 people in the whole history of LoTRO landy PvP). People look good because their classes are so overpowered or they are fighting other classes that are so gimped. So there really is no need to bother arguing or calling each other out as it is pointless.

If it is possible have fun in this atrocity of a game. If not wait around until something better comes along and have fun there. Or tell me to F off and go about bickering about a pointless PvP system that was literally set up to fail.

Upon hitting level 75 just the other day and spending my time off and on out there since level 40's I think I can say I am STILL and always will be a 'bad' 1v1 or many numbers v me...I have a habit of pulling the nearby wolves with me to the fight so a bad 1v1 gets quickly added to. I am still learning the finer ropes out here so can probably count me as a bad 1v1 too in many ways.

How about when a captain finds you at half health from fighting someone else
20 seconds before. The captain engages, I decide to fight him. I proceed to get him to 1k
Left, he last stands and runs away?

When asked about it he said he had no chance so he ran away.

Is that a bad 1v1????????

Sounds like it, I wouldn't bother running away from a fair fight imo, not fair as in you were at half health but fair that is was a 1v1.

Last Standing against a Warg Pack and running away seems like a legit use though, which is what I'd do if I had the chance.

ask sadie+purukhai what a bad 1v1 is .. especially when it includes 3 npcs as well ...

hey, i tried logging over to say sorry i backed off to lc its just you were my first fight of the day and wasn't looking forward to a long fight with a mini, but you never replyed back lol, so if ya want a rematch ill fight you you can think what you want but i dont run from 1v1's if i start to lose and you probably thought you were winning cuz you got me so low i simply stoped healing.

If players on either side take such issue with their opponent fleeing (which is a viable tactic in battle since it keeps them alive and denies you a kill) then simply stop letting them get away. If you can?


On a more serious note, and just my opinion: this type of thread and "you don't play rite!" attitude (on a battlefield no less) changes the Moors from friendly competition to a hostile, not-fun environment. It's a make-believe war. Just try to defeat the opposing side. It's that's easy, really.


Edit:

Lesson learned. Kill warg with NPC's on him and never ever let him finish killing npc's on him first. Give the enemy no quater for you shall recieve none.

Though I think this may have been meant somewhat bitter/sarcastically, I am quoting for truth. Assuming any number of countless "rules" for any number of countless reasons ("honor?") on the spot complicates things ridiculously out in the Moors, and leads to people (friends?) being pissed off at each other. The rules are simple: ATTACK THE ENEMY.

I think I'm going to have to change my mindset and just kill everything and everyone I see... sorry R3 wargie trying to get your hobbit feet.. you can thank your fellow creeps who have set the tone and expectation. I'm just playing within the same set of rules everyone else seems to be playing in.

Yes, we should all be on the same page. It's a war. If you spot the enemy on the battlefield, act accordingly and don't second guess hurting someone's feelings or being "honorable" or "unfair" or outnumbered or whatever. Trying to apply a special set of personal rules and then expecting everyone else will adhere to them is precisely what leads to threads like this and the sentiment behind them.

Just fight the enemy. If you lose, move on. If you win, move on.

My undergraduate was in Latin (don't ask, who knows what I was thinking) and I can't make sense of that....

Any burg in Lotro calling out anyone else in this game is laughable. This thread is as classic as velveeta cheese.

So I was 1v1ing Asht while she had 4 OPs and kept me power drained with store bought trait, well thats ok, than she couldnt kill me so she asked her 5 buddies to kill me. Fail warg is fail.
