I was wondering if we are ever going to see Minas Morgul come into the equation. I hear all this talk about Minas Tirith (which I am really excited for) but nothing about Minas Morgul which I think has fantastic lore surrounding it. Also do you think it will be on the same massive scale as Tirith.
After Rohan, I presume, will come Gondor, probably by the end of 2013, or early 2014. Osgiliath will then probably be a small update around the middle of 2014, then I reckon Minas Morgul and Shelob's Lair at the end of 2014 or early 2015; but yes, one day we will be able to see Minas Morgul from a distance (I do not know how lore-breaking it would be to wander around it) and it will be huge just like Isengard.

I believe we will be able to go right up to Minas Morgul, since we can prance about Isengard. Turbine has to either go against the lore or face a hoard of angry fans complaining about how excited they were to go knocking on Sauruman's door.
But anyways, yes I agree with the above post, probably in 2-3 years.
I always like going South; somehow, it feels like going downhill.

We'll be able to go inside Minas Morgul and climb the secret stairs to Shelob's Lair, not just see it from a distance.
Nobody says it has to be lore-breaking. It's not like we're going to be at Minas Morgul at the same time Frodo, Sam and Gollum are there surely.
Prediction: Minas Morgul will end up being a bit like Carn Dum, we can go into and around the Morgul Vale, but the city itself is going to be a grouping area and/or the site of a 6 or 12 man instance or multiple instances.
After Riders of Rohan expansions, which adds Eastern Rohan, we still have Edoras and Helm's Deep to go and Turbine already said we'll get there eventually. So I don't expect to get to Gondor or Minas Morgul any time soon.
Have to agree with Malachi. This year we'll be getting the Eastern Plains, next year will probably be the Western area, including Edoras and Helm's Deep. After that, maybe we'll go eastwards towards Anorien and approach Gondor from that direction.
I wouldn't expect us to get to Gondor until at least 2014.
Guys i really want to see and go inside Minas Morgul but i think Turbine will follow Aragorn or KIng Theoden with the epic stories. We might get a session play as Sam or Frodo in Minas Morgul, a loooooong session i hope.

Helm's Deep, Dead Marshes, The Morannon, Dunharrow, Minas Tirith, Osgilliath, Gondor, Hennath Annun and the Winding Stair must all come before this surely.

Never bothered them before. See: Rune-keepers/Defeating Saruman etc.

going by the size of western rohan, i'm expecting it to be in an update (not expansion) some time after rohan but before the next expansion, same as how between mirkwood and isengard we got enedwaith, and between isengard and rohan was great river.

In order to do that we would need to meet them.
I guess we could go into Minas Morgul, on the other hand there are not supposed to be any enemies as the city emptied while Frodo and Sam were climbing up the stairs to Cirith Ungol. I don't think we will outrun those two.

As if in answer there came from far away another note. Horns, horns, horns. In dark Mindolluin's sides they dimly echoed. Great horns of the North wildly blowing. Rohan had come at last.

I would guess this is right, where else would our main raid dungeon be in a Minas Tirith expansion?
If so, the move to ftp seriously messed with the time line. It's about two years ahead of what Turbine have released.
Not to mention it's all speculation from the beginning.

That was made by one of our esteemed forum members. Not official.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"
Civ II rules after all these years......

It all depends on how much they want to do with Helm's Deep & Siege of Isengard. While the area might be smaller, they may be doing a lot of new tech around bringing the Siege of Helm's Deep to life. I just don't see Battle of the Hornburg being a non-expansion update. It's the sort of thing that screams expansion in the new model. (at least to me.)
What evil mobs will be there? Do you guys think there will maybe be a Gaunt Lord of some sort, maybe even some really powerful evil spirit? (Perhaps the Mouth of Sauron?)
EDIT: BTW guys I'm kind of new to these forums, how do you get those cool character descriptions at the bottom of your posts?!
I think it's likely we'll end up in Minas Morgul around the time the last assault heads to the black gate, since they rode to the bridge and burned it. If we ever get INSIDE, I would be thoroughly impressed. Although it possible they'll have a memory scene or something, maybe Earnur become Mordirith or some such. Either way, im eager to see what they do with it.

Yea LORE isn't that much part of the game as recent updates have shown, So I have no doubt that all iconic regions (and others) will make it into the game ... eventually

Sam and Frodo never entered Minas Morgul. They were in the Tower of Cirith Ungol at the top of the pass of the same name. They looked at Minas Morgul from across Morgul Vale before they headed up the Stair of Cirith Ungol and ran into Shelob.
I do think that Minas Morgul is a ripe choice for instances after the Witch King has been killed. It's been depopulated by the losses in the battle of the Fields of Pelennor at that point. Just the place to send adventurers.
