Has happened to me once so far when I was leaving Rivendell and heading through the high moor today. Not sure what's causing it but it's very annoying to say the least. Maybe they just are not feeding those ponies and horses enough grain.
Unsure if this is of any use but I have found that the mount is more likely to stop when I have the tp store up, the map up or if I have the lotro site up in game.
I think it might be (at least for me) a lag hiccup that causes the mount to become dumbfounded.
I have heard that logging out and back in will make the mount resume, but that (on my little POS computer) would take longer than dismounting and walking to my destination.
I have only been frozen in place 6 time, 5 of those 6 were opening up the store or the website. One was the map.
With my javelin, I can reach your face... that is tall enough for me.
I thought it was just my net acting up, but it happened to me twice on the one trip from Rivendell to Echad Candelleth. Logging out and back in just lets you continue from where you left off. Not sure if I had the TP store or map up, but I probably did as there isn't much else to do on those horse rides.
EDIT: Of course I wrote this message while taking a third attempt at the same trip, and I froze again. Didn't have the map or TP store up.
This also happened to me a few times in Bree-land (between West Bree and Buckland, once from Trestlebridge). Thought it was just my lagging at the time.
Me, too. Three times in Forochel. Had the map open on at least two of these occasions. Logging off/on continued the ride once. I haven't submitted a ticket yet because I decided to check the forums first to see if it was widespread. Guess I will, next time.
There have been a number of issues with mounts stopping and with hitching/stuttering in game, apparently related to issues in the game coding. There's a dev post indicating they think they have identified the underlying problem and hope to have the fix in the 6.1 game update. Fingers crossed!
They don't seem close to fixing it. Rather, it seems to be getting worse. It first started with me when rides wouldn't complete, stopping short of the end stable. Then I had a few that wouldn't go and I had to repay for a ride. Tonight I had a new one. I got the splash screen to change zones, then it came back, with the ride returning to the start stable and didn't come close.
They can't keep rides coded properly. Why would anyone pay for real content?
Actually, it is my impression that there are much more lagging and bugs after Update 6. I even have problems logging in in the past few days. Hope the upcoming update can fix some of the problems.
