Thread: I want to marry !!!

Hello, since several months, i can not get a familly name for my main char (Ethelfalas on Estel serv). No matter what i try to type (of course trying to be in naming policies), still get the "sorry, this name is not avalaible" message.

Made some in-game tickets and some bug submits.
Tickets made are closed with a pré-formated answer, bugs submits seems not to be aswered.

And i know a very cute person i would like to marry
Not the most urgent bug on earth, but rather disappointing, especially when all my rerolls can get a surname.

Bug reports go to the development team to fix issues with the game code. You will not get any reply from them. If they can recreate the issue it will be added to the list. For the most part, bugs are fixed in the order of priority - how bad is it, how many players it affects, does it hinder or prevent game play, etc. You will know when it has been fixed when they add the fix into the game in a future patch/update (it may or may not appear in the patch notes).

Can you give the same surname to another character? If so then there is an issue with the character that you can't give it to (since the name is obviously available then). If not then the issue is with the surname. Does the surname have any non-standard letters? Since Estel is a French server, I'm not sure how it handles letters with accent marks, etc.

Yes, i first thought it was an issue with the surname, but trying the same surname (Lindewin) with one of my reroll was accepted, and one of my friend took this surname on his char just in front of me without any trouble.

I even tryed some simple surname like Robert on Ethelfalas => rejected, while any of my reroll can.

Sounds like your character data is incompatible with the surname software. There are a number of these issues for Codemaster characters and kins that were created before Turbine took over the EU servers. Codemasters used a different data format (EU data format) than Turbine (NA format). Now you are using Turbine software that expects NA data format.

I suspect the only solution available to you is to delete your character. Start a new character with the same name. Your new character will be created using Turbine's software.

Alternatively, you could put a bug report into development. Hopefully some one in development will get management approval to look into your issue and supply a fix. Either a game software change or a database daemon that reads and modifies all the character on EU servers to remove the incompatability.

I haven't seen much evidence that Turbine is working on resolving the remaining EU data issues.
