There will be more updates as time goes on. I'm not ready to reveal all the fun details yet (Muahahaha) but rest assured that much stuff and much coin will be frivolously given away.

Remember that this is very friendly and informal. Changes may be made before the 27th so if you have a suggestion it's not too late! I will post a list of events and prizes once they are finalized. Please, please don't hesitate to PM me if you want to contribute, have a question or suggestion.
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
A couple of reminders. I am trying to gather a herd of chickens for this event. There has already been some interest in this. If you would like to be a chicken and try to make it to Rivendell let me know. The more we can get the more fun it will be.
Also, if you see this and think you will attend please spread the word to your friends and kinmates. This will be fun.

Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
We will provide a buttload (that's a lot for those that do not know proper names of amounts) of prizes this year. And will help spread the word, we play freeze tag often so we will turnout for that as well!
Hi my name is Pizz and I'm a altaholic.. it's been several minutes since I last played a alt...
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
Hi, guys! We are getting closer. Sorry I haven't been posting much. School is pretty much over after this week so I will have much more time to play games!
If you want to be involved there is plenty to do. We will need hiders for hide and seek. This is fun and very easy. You just hide! If someone would like to be a trivia master that would be great. I can handle this but I'm no lore expert so if someone would like to help or even head that up they can. All you need is a fairly thorough knowledge of the game and lore and the ability to communicate in chat. If you want to be a chicken player and attempt to run to Rivendell then let me know and have your chicken-self ready on the 25th!
I will be posting more now as we get closer. Remember to spread the word!
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
We're just a little over a week away, guys. If you haven't already post or send me a PM if you would like to help out. We need chicken players who can attempt the run to Rivendell (and possibly beyond....). The more the better (and more challenging). Also, trivia master is still open to someone as long as they possess knowledge of the game and LOTR lore. I will do it but someone can help or take that as I will be busy. Hiders for hide and seek.
Those that would like to donate prizes should do so soon. You can mail me your donation and I would advise that you take a screenie of the mail before you send it and take down an inventory of what you send. I am honest but I may be forgetful. This is all completely transparent so you will know exactly where and how we used your donation (if you care ). Besides, that's the fun. Knowing that you made someone's day with a fun gift. I will post what is in the prize pool so far later this evening or tomorrow once I get a gander at my inventory.
Stay tuned and really start to spread the word. I think the word of mouth campaign should really kick in now. =)
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
OK here is what I am putting into the prize pool and what we will be awarding prizes for (tentatively):
-2 Worn Symbols (for 75 second age LI)
-10 tier-5 relics
-1 tier-6 relic (thought it was 7 )
-several stacks of various level hope tokens
-Cold, hard cash money, baby!
-Any consumables that I can manage to make before next week.
Remember that prizes don't have to be expensive. Consumables are quite a nice reward because they are useful and many aren't very expensive at all.
Here is a rough idea of the contests and games we will have prizes associated:
-Bree Sprint race-first, second and third prizes
-Distance/cross country race-First, second and third prizes
-Hide and Seek-Prizes for each hider found (Hopefully five or more)
-Trivia-Prizes for each correct answer (as many as we want really)
Possible other prizes:
-We could do a lottery type thing using RNG
-We could do a grand champion type thing for trivia or hide and seek
-Random door prizes
I am sure I am forgetting something but I wanted to get a rough list out so we have a starting point. Really we could do this with just my prizes. Anything else will be icing on the cake.
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
Hi, guys, just a quick update on the party. We have tons of prizes to give out. Thanks to those who have so generously donated items. We have so much to give away I wonder if I might have to come up with some more games! It should be a lot of fun. At the very least we can accommodate as many hiders as we want for hide and seek and we can give out more prizes for the races, say 1st through 5th instead of 1st through 3rd.
If anyone out there is good at lore and would like to be a trivia master let me know. I am capable but I will be busy so help is appreciated. Also, if you want to make the run to Rivendell as a chicken then make sure you have the correct chicken quest available. The more chickens the merrier. I will be a chicken for this myself BWAAACK!!!
The schedule will be fairly loose but will, most likely, go something like this:
7:00PM EDT Start time/Trivia Questions Begin/Live Music
8:00PM - Bree Sprint footrace
8:30PM - Brandy Hills Hide and Seek
9:00PM - Cross Country footrace (I have an interesting course in mind. )
9:30-10:00PM - Mass March/Chicken Run to Rivendell
10:00-10:30PM - Freeze Tag and continued trivia
Some of the rules and procedures that I will mention now just as an FYI. Racers will have to gather around me and be in /say range for instruction and rules. It you aren't able to hear the instructions it may cost you the race even if you come in first. Doing things in /say will keep people from cheating and starting closer to the checkpoints/finish line.
Also, anyone that wants to hide for hide and seek can do so. Last year many people decided to just join in the fun after the event was started. This is great (and encouraged). Please, though, let me know if you are hiding and do not announce it in OOC. If you do that then seekers can just roam around clicking your name in chat trying to find you. If I tell people you are hiding it will be more of a challenge. We don't want it to be that easy for them.
I will post more as I think about it.

I am unreasonably excited about this chicken thing. I'm on Pacific time, but have made arrangements to be home just before you get started. This gon' ROCK!

It really is going to rock. We are going to give away a bunch of stuff. People don't even realize yet! Quite fitting for a 5th anniversary I say.
As a little teaser I will say that I have finalized the cross country race rout and, while it is similar to last year's race, it adds just a little more danger and choice to the race. Cliffs, water, wolves and brigands are just some of the obstacles (and boars of course. This is LOTRO after all ). I can't wait to see it unfold. Be sure to pass the word.
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
No I was not able to get a vent or teamspeak set up. Pizzolas spoke of having a server to use but I was having internet problems last night and was getting booted off making it hard to discuss anything. We can group up and use game chat though since we usually have a raid going.
Speaking of which, if I happen to have problems tonight and go link-dead I want everyone to know that I will be back in. The outages last night were fairly short, 10-15 minutes, so I could live with that if I had to. If it happens before an event someone may have to announce that we are delayed a few minutes or something. If it would happen to get too bad then I we will have to think of something.
Don't be alarmed. Usually Comcast is pretty solid here but last night was kinda windy and stormy and I think it was affecting things. I just wanted to have at least a little bit of a contingency plan in case we get the storm of the century or something. As we all know the show must go on.
This should be a lot of fun. Make sure you bring your anniversary fireworks (greatest gift evah)!
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
This sounds like a lot of fun! I will definitely try to make it.
If you guys need a vent to use--I will be glad to throw mine up for this event. I have a few kin mates that randomly wander through it but other than that it stays largely empty. Just send let me know through in game mail if you would like the info and I will gladly give that out and take down the password to let people in.

Jeffie, I can rarely hear or understand in game voice chat...I'll be in Pizz's vent server. LOL. If I end up in there alone, I'm logging out after 30 minutes...and will feel horribly rejected. LOL

Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
Well I have to apologize again for my internet troubles on Friday. Unfortunately, my internet issues continue. I felt terrible that I made all of these plans and didn't get to go through a fraction of them. I still had several pages of trivia to go through on top of the events we didn't get to run.
Once I know my internet is stable again I wouldn't mind trying to reschedule a few of the events and maybe have a Brandywine Summer Fest in a month or two maybe. Sadly, once I logged in later in the evening I my connection was much more stable but it was too late by then.
I hope that people were able to enjoy what events we did run. I know the music was great. Much thanks to RKO for putting in a great show in spite of the other issues. Thanks, Toidy, Winter, Joel, Pizz, Arandriel and Co. for keeping things going while I was disconnected. Also, a hundred thanks to Toeclippings for donating many of the prizes that were given out. It was not the way I wanted things to go but I guess I learned a valuable lesson about not having a backup plan.
At the very least I would like to have a chicken run sometime because there are still chickens that need to get to Rivendell since I was really looking forward to that part. Actually, I was really looking forward to the whole thing. It was supposed to be my fun, end-of-semester celebration but it didn't turn out quite that way.
Well, hopefully people still enjoyed what party we did have. I may just save my trivia sheets for next year and make sure to include a contingency plan just in case something like this happens again. I know I shouldn't feel bad about a game but I do because I feel like I let people down (plus my internet issues ruined raid night for me to grr ).
Anyway, keep an eye open for the Chicken Run and possibly a make-up race. I'll have to gauge and see if there is any interest.

That's kinda what I am thinking. On a happier side note, it looks like a new cable splitter mighthave solved my signal issues. I played for a while last night with no disconnects.
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
Well it makes me happy that people had a good time because that's what counts. Hopefully we can get something goingin the Summer. At the very least we must do a chicken run because I've done all the quests now but Rivendell.
Re: 5th Annual Brandywine Popul Festivus/Anniversary Party
I had fun as well, especially as I won a worn symbol by winning the foot race!

We're getting close to that time of year. Any one already thinking about the 6th Annual Popul Festivus?
Heya, Joel. Funny you should ask because I was just thinking about this the other night. We will certainly plan something and the best news of all is that I have a whole new network drop to my house now so I no longer have the connection isses that nearly ruined it for me last year.
I have even been in contact with RKO a few months back and I am hopefull that they will be back with more great party music. I will begiving this some thought and will probably start a discussion thread before too long.
