Is it me or is the drop rates on t7 mats all of a sudden backward. I am getting 4x's as much of the crit mats from mobs for some reason. Its a problem actually as I haven't leveled my scholar and I cant loot enough mats to keep my hunter potions and such supplied.

AFAIK, since update 6, all humanoid mobs had their drops of Scholar mats and Jeweler gems increased by a factor of 5.
ie. Where they would have only dropped one before the update, they now drop five.
exactly and now I can't get enough dunlending texts to make potions, etc for my hunter. Hunter potions take 4 each and I have barely gotten 40 with a week of looting. Previously I was swimming in them with just normal play. I now have an excess of 300 gondorian parchments and there are no dunlending texts in the AH to buy at all. Thankfully the supreme potions are at least acceptable till I can level my scholar in case this isn't fixed.
