i think the idea which they will and have gone with will be the mounted combat idea. it basically wipes our skills cept mounted ones you essentially get 9 similarly themed classes to the original classes. instead of getting new class we get hunt tier2

A custom class that you shape by selecting skills based on other classes. These skills are arranged in trees so that they make sense and give you an idea of how you are shaping your character, and so that you are forced into compromises that stop you from being overpowered.
So an adventurer that does huge dps might have to sacrifice wearing heavy armour for it. An adventurer who wants good crowd control (a long stun skill) might have to sacrifice a dps skill for it, or something else, and so on. The result would be that every adventurer is different, custom made by the player.
Depending on that trees you advance the most in, that defines you as dps/tank/healer/support.
Its just an idea, you can probably pick 100 holes into it, and of course this would have to have a lot more thought put into it to become a reality. But I think its a good and attractive concept.
If they where to make any new class, it should be a Ranger, but Hey, I talked to TONS of people about that, it just wouldn't work, turbine has no need for any new classes, And if it was one, it would simply be a new useless, TP costing class, totally against LOTR lore, much like the RK.
The only type of new class I could see working would be another support class similar to a capt.I see this based more along the lines of what most think of a Ranger as being.I see it as medium armour wearing with ranged skills equal to melee.It would have some type of buffs,maybe power restore or offense buff.I would think it would be similar to a warden but without the tanking line.It would have a smaller single target heal then a capt and possibly a small fellow heal similar in strength to the captains Inspire.It would have a bow and dual or a 2 hand weapon.
Not to sure what the legendary weapons would be.Main hand of course but not sure if the he secondary would be a bow or some new item.I would base it off the might stat just so all that medium with might stacked that seems to drop would actuallu get used.
I would open this to all classes since for along time now people have complained that there was no supprt class for other races since a capt can only be played as the race of man.Just some an idea I had in my head.

I'm too tired to flesh this idea out completely, but I've seen a few others mention it here and want to agree with them. It seems to me that the game doesn't need a new class. However, it would be interesting to see what could be done in adding a secondary profession or sub-class to a class at a higher level. Could Hunters, for instance be given an option to become a Ranger type of class once they hit level 70, that builds on many of their existing skills but adds a new direction as well. Something like that is what's bouncing around in my head. Maybe someone smarter can flesh it out better.
I like the way your going, But can't we give anything to People like me, who aren't all that high of Level??? why not at like, level 40 or 35? Is all the People who are not level 65-1000000 get something cool?

You're going under the assumption that my specultative new class of RIDERwould not be able to mount in instances. When instances first came out with SoA you could mount out of combat. All Turbine would need to do is bring this back and then Riders would be able to mount.

All classes must have a dps spec (without that lvling is terrible), at the begin (as i heard) minstrels have no war-speech and they cant lvl efficiently without fellow.
Also nowadays pets have value under zero, having 3 skills, and arent able to survive a bossfight... so i dont know why peaple saying having a pet as class role.... (pets must have 5/7 skills on low cd to be useable, not 3 skills in 3 min long cd... and slightly better morale or just half of the damage they recieved can be transferred to their master, and if master gets healed the pet getting the same ammount... coz fellw heals arent working on pets, and with current ui system healers cannot target swiftly the pets if they are in trouble)
At creep side are lack of new classes like a REAL debuffer (Aoe, and without 3/5 sec induction..), and a tactical dps class... etc. also sauron had a many sort of soliders not uhm.... six :/ (I think every freep class can count as at least 3 class, coz different traiting enables them to be in a very own roles, so count now as 27 freep classes.... like cc hunter, brust dps hunter (red), survival hunter(blue), or tank warden, melee dps warden, ranged dps warden... etc.) For creeps can introduce goblin race with 3 classes, also orc race must get a new class with strong aoe dmg, and really vicious (not value based, %based) reflect dmg. and over these turbine has mjillion of possibilties.
Also troll and ranger "class" need some rework... i thinkthey are the same after soa... troll is soloable byevery freep class... also ranger is nothing more than a juicy target for zerg... who is dieing very swiftly.
The only new class that LoTRO really "needs" is a Goblin creep class. How can you have Lord of the Rings monster play without a goblin?!?!
That being said, I'd rather be able to play as a Dwarf Captain than a new freep class. Do you know how long I've been wanting to play as a Dwarf Captain? A long time.
Haven't you heard? The new class for RoR will be the Cleric. A cleric of a deity and able to use heavy armor and shields, he can cast divine spells, powerful heals and he has the ability to turn undead.
I read that a portal between Eberron and Toril has been discovered, but now they've also found one connecting to Middle-earth too?!? /faint
