Is one of the best I've run into in my few short years of hopping around MMO's.
Now take these words as they are, I've only briefly played WoW, spent a few months in EVE, played STO till RAUH and a few months ago jumped ship from TOR.
I've never reached Level cap on any of these games.
Now that my eternal noob cred has been established I'll just go ahead and state my thoughts on this.
I played LOTRO a couple of months ago, got a dwarf champ to 26 and then ghosted for about 6 months, I've picked up the game again recently and got my girl (who plays a elf mini) into it with me, now we pretty much planned to play just more or less with each other but this community here is making this pretty hard.
Just as a few examples, I was wandering around Erd Luin as my Dwarf Guard (I started a new char to lvl with the mini) and I ran into a couple of folks just jamming in the streets in Celondim, we immediately just started playing and swapping songs and having a general good time, best thing was no one bothered us, hell some even stopped to clap or cheer for a few songs!
This was a big diff from Star Trek Online where if you sat around Quarks Bar on DS9 (a major RP hotspot) you'd have a bunch of jerks running around throwing grenades, dropping turrets and attempting to teabag you on the bar....
My girl was in Bree crafting some jewels and such when someone came over Trade and wanted to know if anyone wanted some stuff, weary but willing to try a trade for more mats, she went over to the fellow and asked what he wanted in return, the guy gave her around 60 or so various types of jewels for free simply because he wanted to free up space in his storage and didn't want to toss em or vendor trash him.
In EVE both me and her had nearly gotten scammed in a trade in High Sec with someone from a corp that was supposed to be one of our corps main allies...
I was messing around the shire on my Hobbit Burg who's become my crafting alt when someone called out over LFF that she needed help doing a lvl 10, Gifts from the North I think, anyway being only lvl 9 and not a good burg I asked if I could help, well she accepted me and a lvl 45 mini. The best part of this example is the drops and who rolled for what, the lvl 45 rolled for pretty much nothing and me and the fellowship leader split our take even steven post game, honesty and good sense all around.
In TOR trying to do flashpoints with anyone on any level no matter if they needed the stuff or not fighting would break out over the stupidest things, Troopers rolling need for goddamn Jedi robes and such, Greed and stealing all around.
Now I know it ain't all roses and sunshine, but compared to pretty much all the other games I've played, LOTRO has given the best feel of a good community, with decent players and a fair amount of respect.
TL;DR
I think the folks here on brandy-wine and perhaps even the other servers are some of the best that I've found in the MMO gaming scene.

I've been around since '08, and have played on several servers (to hook up with family and friends) - just recently came to Brandywine, and agree that this server is populated by really good people.
Agreed.
After all, no other server community would be as great as Brandywine for the above reasons, and also because only Brandywine has the Jar Jar Binks of LOTRO, also known as Gilrondthir, also known as me.
Awsome that you took the time to post this, and I agree completely. I've played 3 servers and BW is by far the busiest and funniest and has a great /glff
A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.
I've figured it out, it's the game itself. When I play SWTOR..I'm angry. When I play Lotro, I'm calm. There must be subliminal messages CONSTANTLY played during the game. :P
Miss you guys, but at the rate SWTOR is going...I might be back A LOT sooner than I thought...
Well now that the Anniversy shindigs are going on I figured I'd see a bit more griefing and trolling.
Which to a point I have, folks shooting of random fireworks and getting low lvls to camp spots that won't spawn in bree is a bit funny I'll admit lol.
Still, the community shines once more, in the beer fights my girl (who isn't very good at them) had someone offer to stand around so she could whack them so she could get her points, I also noticed a few others sticking around after their 8 to make sure everyone got out a winner and avoided trying to knock them outta bounds.
It's nice to see Brandywine full of great folks, even with all the token grinding madness going on!
