Drop your Rise of Isengard price please

Turbine, is it still at it's laughable overpriced cost that it was when it was released?

F2P games make their biggest money by CONSTANT small purchases.

Block people with rip-off overpriced tiny expansion packs that cost a kidney and liver, and this makes them leave, so they aren't in the game playing constantly anymore, making constant purchases, like me and my wife are not right now.

Expansion Packs for F2P games shouldn't cost more than 10 bucks. If anything you should give it away, so that people like us start playing again and constantly make those tiny purchases.

Not interested in other players opinions. This is simply feedback for Turbine.

Why would a for profit company give away a very popular item they can sell for dollars?

Most of the "expansion" packs for free players are less than 10 bucks. It is only the two very large expansions - Mines of Moria and Rise of Isengard that are a lot more than 10 dollars. You got Angmar, Endewaith, Eregion, Evendim, Forochel, Great River, Mirkwood, North Downs, Trollshaws, lots of Skirmishes, Inn of the Forsaken, Halls of Night ... as additional content (expansions) available to purchase in the ten dollar range.

Turbine, is it still at it's laughable overpriced cost that it was when it was released
And it's still the last major expansion available. Expect it to be discounted around the time of the next release or bundled somehow with the next expansion.

F2P games make their biggest money by CONSTANT small purchases.
That's why GW2 will be giving out the game for free! (Wait, that's not right!, my bad)

Block people with rip-off overpriced tiny expansion packs that cost a kidney and liver, and this makes them leave, so they aren't in the game playing constantly anymore, making constant purchases, like me and my wife are not right now.
Block off high level F2P/Premium players from high level content? Brilliant actually since they have the most time invested and will most likely pay to continue playing with all that time invested. At that point in the game if they wish to leave because they are too cheap to play, well, there's the door.

Expansion Packs for F2P games shouldn't cost more than 10 bucks. If anything you should give it away, so that people like us start playing again and constantly make those tiny purchases.
Nah, thin the heard I say! Since I pay my monthly sub(s), pay for the expansions AND add extra points from time to time, sorry, not feeling your pain. Keep your small change in your pocket, it don't pay the bills.

Not interested in other players opinions. This is simply feedback for Turbine.
Since you enjoy the concept of free so much, I offered up my opinion for no charge.

You could have bought the $29.99 base edition for $15.00. All the Rise of Isengard expansion offerrings were on sale for half off for a while.

That doesn't help the thread starter at this point because the half off sale is over.

Turbine like Steam routinely runs sales that can greatly reduce your costs if you are patient and behave like a alert Hawk.

It's a General Forum, you're gonna get my opinion anyway. Games do not bring down the prices on their latest expansion in such short a time.

IMHO, expansions are one of the FEW things that should be in the store. You choose how you spend your money, not Turbine. vote with your wallet and play the game you like. If you have gone broke buying little items, then you decided its the little items that matter more than the big. Other players ignore the little items and buy the big expansions with their points. Its your choice... only one person to blame for making that choice.

Its on it way... the entitlement generation is gonna be out in full force once the big expansion hits next... my advice to anyone that can't afford it... STOP buying things and SAVE your points if you want the expansion. Otherwise, enjoy your things you bought while everyone else is playing the new content. Think aghead, plan ahead, save your points, earn extra ones in game and know what/when/and why you choose to make each purchase.

    Oh my gosh yes! This!

You just expressed what would be my only complaint in regards to a small portion of the Premium/F2P crowd. The store was not designed ONLY around their use, it was designed to provide perks, at a cost, to the VIP player as well.

Sure it would be great for them to get to spend all those points on neat little items that make their game play more enjoyable. It's also great for the VIP player and they pay a subscription fee AND for the expansions as well. Why should a F2P/Premium account have no base cost and all the purchases be discretionary?

Again, I'm only pointing to a small portion of the F2P/Premium crowd as most know they have a good deal. There just seems to be some segment that always declares "If you want me to play" when comes down to "They want you to pay". It's pretty obvious that they scaled the game to get more expensive the more you get hooked. You can really only get so far without a mind numbing grind unless you open that wallet from time to time.

That doesn't help you if you aren't here watching the news every day. They could have sold this to my second account if they'd sent me an email. I don't know if I have email coms like this turned on or off though, tbh.

You have to watch the sales via the web. Even if Turbine were to send out email notices, you might not get them. Email is an unreliable protocol for ads. Any mass electronic mailing of the same text can trip a spam detector resulting all the mails being deleted in transit.

Being stepped on is a common issue for smaller companies like Turbine. Microsoft is much less likely to get the internet mail shredder treatment than a smaller lesser known company.

A lot of companies don't send out email notices for their sales. Instead they want to reward the Hawks. Hawks have to keep visiting the site looking for sales. The company is hoping the Hawk will do an impulse buy on something else once they have entered the store to look up the ads.

A lot of retail companies use coupons or sales as bait to get people into their brick and mortar store where the store owner will get the bait costs back via sale of other stuff.

Re: Drop your Rise of Isengard price please

Some points, probably just re-iterating what has already been said:

1.) Until the next expansion, Riders of Rohan releases: The normal price point of Rise of Isenguard, will likely remain the same. I do think the normal asking price will decrease incrementally with any additional expansion releases.

2.) Watch for sales. It has been at dramatically reduced price 2 times in the past. I suspect that an anniversary catalog of offerings, (That is April 24th specifically, but will likely be at least a week long offering of a variety of tantalizing sales packages) will be the next opportunity to pick it up at a discounted price. It does take a little patience, and you do have to check the sales promotion section on this site every couple days (at min) but there have been, and there will be other opportunities to pick this expansion up at a discount.

3.) X packs aren't really in the small package category. A legendary slot, scroll, or relic... one hours use of a skirmish soldier, or an emote will likely always be cheaper and these are the things that ARE in the small purchase category.

4.) The week around April 24th bears repeating again. I suspect a variety of offers, some of which will make purchasing RoI easier.

5.) Riders of Rohan is sometime this Fall. RoI normal asking price dropping before that point seems like an unrealistic expectation.

But isn't it in your best interest to watch for a sale if you want to buy something?

Does Macy's email you when those shoes or that suit you want is on sale? No they put out an ad for everyone to see, it's the same here, the ad is on the Store page, just a click away.

Actually, Macy's and several other vendors/stores that I deal with send me emails on a regular basis. Even Papa John's Pizza! I do think they could do better with the email situation. I have two accounts under the same email. Sometimes I get both, sometimes one, sometimes none.

If they drop the price of Isengard, absolutely no one will have any reason to buy the (just currently barely cheaper) Mithrol Edition unless, like me, they don't have access to buy stuff online. And right now, they're advertising Mithril Edition a lot more than Rise of Isengard, both in-game and out of it.

Playing an MMO should be a gaming experience, not a daily catalog-shopping experience. So. In my opinion. Kind of apples and oranges. I'm not going to be checking the website every other day for months to see if Isengard is on sale, especially if I'm not playing the game, anyway.

Disclaimer: I have never played WOW

    Newest WoW expansion preorder: $40

Latest WoW expansion: $40, on sale for $27

And WoW requires the purchase of all expansions to level past 60 and to even see the expansions' content. So right now, to catch up to everyone else as a new player, you're looking at purchasing the base game, three expansions, and a fourth later in the year. As far as I know, no expansion includes other expansions

Guild Wars 2 base game: $60

    RoI base edition: $30

    LOTRO base game: $0

RoI Legendary Expansion, which includes the quest packs for all previous expansions: $50

    And LOTRO's prices are insane?

P.S. the Isengard quest pack is 20% off now through April 12

During the period of time I was referring to--from Nov. 1 to Feb 1., I was playing WoW exclusively. I made about one post here every 10 days on average. I also have a lot of problems with clicking store tabs. I don't think I'm going to get past those problems without a Clockwork Orange treatment or a consumer control chip implant. Hope that helps to clarify. I don't really care about this, also. I just said matter-of-factly that Turbine could have made a sale if I'd known.

What's laughable is your post. Oh & if your not interested in others opinions then dont post it on a public message board. Send Turbine a personal email instead.
