Template for PVMP
Hit 75 and started PVMP yesterday. It was fun but I got ravaged. I was wondering if there is a resource or any template someone has put together for a high dps minstrel? Gear/traits etc. Thanks!

Re: Template for PVMP
Regardless of gear and traits, etc., it takes experience. Before trying to get completely pimped out, just go out and ravage get ravaged.... Think of it as a learning experience and don't get frustrated. Creeps, for the most part, don't like minstrels. I personally don't mind this cuz the feeling is mutual!

Turn on War-speech, and go blow up creeps. Your template for this is as follows...

Re: Template for PVMP
I think he is asking in particular what traits are good for PvMP, as it was his first time, not how to play the class. Not everyone has been out there for years, remember.
And sadly I don't think any such template exists, or if there is one, it is probably not up to date. Maybe the community should work on one, maybe in some massive collab project? Could be fun.

Re: Template for PVMP
I have had 75 levels to mess around with and try out my traits. I know what each one does. However I am new to PVMP, so was just wondering if people had any advice on good traits to use specifically for PVMP (besides the obvious warskald ones).
But really this post was made more for gear recs, but apparently this game is very open when it comes to that which is nice, but still doesn't help me much at all lol

Re: Template for PVMP
personally i run armour of song(+20% contribution from armour sources), light in the dark(+10%coda damage and +1% damage from ballad buff), powerful voice(-resist to crys/calls), enduring morale(+300 morale), life singer(+10% heal crit chance), silver tounge(+25% from crit heals), and unrelenting(5s stun from peircing cry if critted) then for legendary i do the red capstone, rally, and wizards. Virtues all but one is morale/mitigation

Re: Template for PVMP
If you want your main focus to be PvMP, just gear through PvMP. IE, start doing stuff out in the Ettenmoors to start earning Commendations to buy PvMP armour. Check the Auction House for crafted jewellry, or your local reputation vendor in Galtrev or Stangard.
There is no real template. The lack of mirrored classes make PvP in this game much more flexible in terms of how you may chose to play and gear. Basically, there is no "best" gear or playstyle (don't listen to the elitist ninnies who may tell you otherwise).Narlinde, level 85 Minstrel, Rank 10, Member of Trucido ~ Windfola

Re: Template for PVMP
Well, if you are hellbent on PvP, you want the PvP Armor. It alone has Audacity, a stat which is crucial to PvP success. I'd recommend going 4/2, all the 5 set bonuses are pretty bad, except for the healing set, but that one has the worst stats. And the sets have poor stats to begin with (compared to raid gear). I'd say go 4 Resonance, 2 Dissonance, the latter 2 should be the Pants and Boots. This way you maximize the stats you gain and minimize the stats lost. After that, you need some decent Jewellery. The Great River crafted Earrings are very, very good. The level 72 Purple crafted Bracelets are probably the best Mins PvP bracelets in the game, too. Those are all pretty accessible. From there on you will need to run some group content to get the rest.
I'd recommend going 5R/2B traits. The Red traits are kinda meh, I generally leave out Powerful Voice(does nothing) and Armor of Song(does next to nothing), but there is leeway there, since half of them do nothing. For the Blue I'd say go Life Singer and Improved Raise the Spirit.
You should also give consideration to your LI situation. I'd recommend switch LI and Instruments if you want to be the most effective you can be.
Ok, I was feeling helpful. Here is a screenshot! Everything in the Main Chest I would consider the absolute ideal gear for PvP, save the Plague Doctor Ring, which I would replace with Minuillangor, provided I didn't fail and lose the roll on it. Also included my Moors DPS LI so you can get a general idea of relics/legacies. Bear in mind, I use a swap book to heal. The elf ear is just there for show.

Ok the forum won't not resize it, just use the link to be able to read the text

Re: Template for PVMP
You say go 4 Resonance/2 Dissonance. I did the opposite (4 diss/2 res), which is actually what you show in your bank. Did you reverse it in the text portion?
Also, I honestly hadn't looked much at the upgrades for the Sage set. I'll have another look tonight for sure (I got the Mender stuff for the clicky and don't wear them in the Moors anyway) but seems like the Sage set may in fact have a couple useful pieces for Moors. I have never used the 72 bracelets; never cared for them.♦ R13 Minstrel ♦ Guardians of the Dagorlad ♦ Jaiyne ♦
