I regret to inform all my friends and loved ones on this game that IM OUT. This lag is atrocious i cant believe im paying money to play a BROKEN game. You cannot play a game under these lag constraints that have shown up since update 6 i believe? It is utterly ridiculous and i refuse to pay money for it. Thank you turbine i do like the game i think you have done a great job of turning LOTR into an MMO but you need to get your #### together and fix this lag, like immediately. Bye friends! I will know if the lag gets fixed and i will be back if it does
Yeah, lag is pretty ridiculous for both sides right now. But hope to see you back in game Daymen, still need to fight you on the new and improved warg :P
It's not there fault, it's all of us who have various internet providers. but turbine won't listen to the fact most of us had no lag problems pre-U6....so it must be on our side... wha??????????
I stopped subscribing months ago. Also, people, we only have to put up with these servers for another few months. I don't think GW2 will be that long now.

It's true, lag is a very tricky thing to pin down. The potential sources of lag are complex and not always where you think they are. We had an issue that was addressed that caused a memory related lag problem. This has been completely addressed and is no longer the cause of lag on our servers.
As I mentioned before it is impossible to 'fix' all types of lag because the overwhelming majority of what is perceived as lag usually falls somewhere between the end points. That includes your home network, the various networks that internet traffic is routed through, and there are even cases where "lag" isn't' what you're seeing at all but simply performance issues with your PC trying to do more than it can handle and getting bogged down in the process. It can even bee a NIC driver that is having issues.
Ultimately, we can control one thing and that's our server's performance and the network stack on our systems. To the best of our knowledge, this is all working as expected..
From the videos we have seen there has been some lag in WvWvW in GW2, but this is still in beta where ANet has said they are still optimizing. I would have to believe a company like ANet, who is relying a lot on the success of WvWvW to be a big part of the game (not to mention in GW1 and what we have seen so far from feedback about GW2 they are much more concerned with actually communicating and giving what their fan base wants), that they will optimize it to the best they can. Sadly Turbine doesn't seem to care about the community, surely the pvp community, and hasn't shown any interest in us since at least SoA as far as I am concerned.
So yeah Turbine, adios once GW2 comes out. The moors is a hallow shell compared to pvp in most game and will be nothing but a little blip compareable to WvWvW. 4 maps, all larger then the moors map, with objective that (OMG) actually serve a meaningful purpose, and objectives that are spread out for different size groups to help break up the constant and overall zerging. Oh yeah and it can be entered at level 1, you can gain levels and significant gear from just pvping, and what hold my interest the most, multifaction pvp.
PS: ANet has said that they have so far optimized each map for 300 people (yes there is a cap on the maps) but they are aiming higher and I am sure they will reach it. Even at that 300, that is 100 per side which is outright capable of larger fights then we have ever seen on BW.

I was planning on playing GW2 just for fun since I did play GW from beta and played til after GWEN came out. However, post U6 is making me thing that i will spend more time in GW2 then in LotRO. I love this game but lag is everywhere not just in the moors.
To be fair there are some times when people complain about the lag and the problem most likely is on their end. Not that I haven't experienced some lag and rubber-banding since the update. I have but there are other times, specifically in the Moors, when people complain about lag yet I am still running around and my skills are firing. It reminds me of the first PC I used to play this game. It had P4 cpu and a 6600GT display adapter and ran the game fine on Medium graphics in any zone. Then book 10 hit and I couldn't play for more than 2 or three minutes before my PC froze and forced me to reboot. I wasn't the only one that expereiced preoblems after book 10 but the problem was only solved when I upgraded my machine. I've had to do this twice now already and I think it's just how it goes.
I really do hate to see people leave the game because of it though.
I will say one thing, if you jump back and forth between PVE and PVMP like I do make sure you turn off all of those effects you don't need in the UI settings pane. Also, make sure you go so the social panel and turn off all the buff/debuff icons for group/raid members. I had forgot to show only dispellable effects at some point and that one setting alone made me go from a slide show while in raids to very playable again. I had simply forgot to change that back and it made the Moors unplayable for me until I switched them off. Thanks to Shanehere for the reminder on that one.
Good luck, guys. I hope you get it figured out because I really do hate to see people leave a game they enjoy because of performance reasons.
You mean like when cataclysm,Aion,Rift,Tor,skyrim Were coming out?
Funny everyone comes back and the lag does too...
Same story different MMO turbine knows you will be back for the frodocrack.
that is a terrible analogy honestly, 3 of those are practically the same game with sometimes better (in swtor case worse) added things. And Skyrim is a single player game with an end already been there done that. GW2 has almost absolutely nothing in common with any of those games. So your little silly gif an supposedly witty response is hallow and empty. But thanks for trying, the "GW2 is bad and just like every game though I know nothing about it" bandwagon is over there ----->

They are all MMOS besides Skyrim which was the most anticipated single player game of the year. I have seen this same thread for each of those games on these forums... we all have, if we have been here long enough. Gratz you like GW cool story bro, the first one sucked.
Just like any MMO you will pick one of the 8 professions and continue to smash keys at your enemies.
Lotro has the only unique PVP or PVMP from any other MMO in fact lotros PVP is so bad its actually good.

Your simplistic assessment is either sad or funny, can't really tell. So lets play this game.
GW2 is an mmo = True
GW2 has mmo trinity (Tank Healer DPS) = False
GW2 uses traditional RNG for hits/misses = False
GW2 penalizes players for kill stealing = False
GW2 utilizes the standard "go to quest hub, find ring/exclamation, talk to npc, go kill X, return to npc" = False
GW2 applies a non linear xp curve aka the xp to level gets higher and higher per level the closer you get to cap = False
Now lets look at the pvp side of things for fun in comparison to other mmos you listed.
GW2 uses a carrot on a stick approach to pvp gear progression = False
GW2 is gear based pvp = False
Sorry but try again.

Lol what are you trying to get at... I never said "Anything" about GW2... lol
I don't care about GW2 or any other game... I just said I have seen these threads before... with "INSERT NEXTGEN MMO CONCEPT HERE MAKES THIS GAME BETTER!!!!"
This is what you quoted out of the entire post that I made in response to another posters reference to GW2.

This was your response. So in hence you were comparing GW2 and people saying they would leave for it to these other games. I retorted with the fact that GW2 offers completely different things then those others, so by you automatically assuming that it will have the same result is faulty logic. Then you proceeded to make a statement about it being the same as those other mmos, which I shot down.

Then you reply with this, in which you claim to not even be talking about GW2 despite the above. So I will take your lack of a rebuttal as a concession of defeat in this debate. Thank you.

You have to take into consideration lotro is not a horrible game but lacks in pvp and the players that come back more than likely have lifetime and are just waiting for the "next best mmorpg". Lotro's pvp community is also so small that you notice the returning players too in comparison to alot of these other games. I am surprised you did not put up AoC and warhammer on the list as those were the first two games that came out when lotro was newest.

Bro you are arguing with yourself
Yes every few months someone has a thread about how lotro took there life and how they need to somehow "convince" this community of this better new religion of MMOS ... just like in 2006 dealing with those fanboys I can deal with one "dire" one now. If you like Gw2 so much cool!!! like I said before

Agreed? Knowing everyone in a smaller community is half the fun of this game!
lag has been bad for lately, but not bad enough that I can't function. i just wish theyd get things fixed or somehow make the performance of their product better.
It is heartbreaking to leave but it's a matter of principle. If I pay money for something it should work. Seeing how gw2 has no subscription fee I will check it out I'm sure. Might try to veer away from mmos and stick to my Shogun 2 and various single player games I never got to play(crysis, gta, others when they come out). Loving and missing everyone in the lotro community is the hardest part. see you all again when turbine fixes or when Rohan comes out. I will miss our epic 1v1s and good times with all QQ <3

I'm sure a bunch of us will migrate to GW2, so you might not miss the community after all ;p
