Actually it is ... remember Ale Association vs. Inn League?
It took me quite some work to get both to kindred, because I kept losing 40% of my earned points each day.
This ... is just a very minor setback, I had these points back in less then 5 minutes, I defended Galtrev once and that was enough.
And the quest stated quite clearly that you would lose 300 points, so why were you shocked?
Re: Loss of Dunland Reputation from a quest in Rushgore.
This has got to be the saddest little complaint I've seen in a long time.
How dare Turbine implement some reality into the game! How dare they actually try to incorporate some action and consequence choices in the game! How dare they allow people to roll play the way they want by giving the the choice to turn on a group and perhaps lose some reputation based on choices they make just like in real life!
Damn you Turbine!

Re: Loss of Dunland Reputation from a quest in Rushgore.
I was surprised to see it happen too... I usually read through everything, but it was late and I was hoping to close out my Stangard rep, so I missed it. It's kinda cool actually, but it is a little strange that it only happens on this (and a few other) occasions. For the record, I'd be interested in a true faction system, should they be inclined, rather than simply being able to max 'em all out.
I was a little freaked though, as I went over to Galtrev and completed the Foundry daily and DID NOT get my rep back. As it sits now, I'm still -300 to kin and looking at my unequippable faction ring in my inventory. Perhaps it was too soon? I'll have to go try it again.

You spend 5 minutes running the Defence of Galtrev daily and then you put the ring back on your finger. It's not exactly The End of Days. And by the time you get this quest you're probably running with very few if any items anyway. It's a long, long way into the new book and better stuff has been falling like rain. I had one ring still in use by this point. Which I replaced with one ever so slightly worse ring from my storage.
Re: Loss of Dunland Reputation from a quest in Rushgore.
Here is where I see the flaw in the system. You gain Kindred Reputation, then it caps out there. Why? Why not have that bar fill to the end? Many of us have done far more faction that is not awarded because of being capped at exactly Kindred. If I do say 10,000 more points by means of the quests and such, why not have that as part of my Kindred total? So I loose 300 points and now I am Kindred with 9,700 points in instead.
Does it really make sense that I do enough things to gain your highest favor, which I might add means quite a few tasks, deeds and quests. Then I do one thing you don't like and you snub me until I do the most menial task and I'm back in your favor? I want a divorce, oh wait, you took out the trash, love ya!
Re: Loss of Dunland Reputation from a quest in Rushgore.
Yup, I just got that about half an hour ago. (I got it in Bullroarer too; next time I happened to look, I was back up to Kindred. I forget what I did to fix it, but obviously something.) Tomorrow I'll go do a quest in Galtrev (carrying timber, probably) and that will take care of it. No biggie.
