I posted this thread with the sole intention of get advice of how to start as a creep. I have no interest in moan, beg, complain, troll or whatever the current system. I take as it is and I'll adapt to it instead of try change it. That said...
How to sucessfully start as a creep in the Moors? I tried everything over five days. I tried complete the quests but I couldn't leave the starter area because there was a freep waiting for me everytime I went to kill the slugs, I tried to change directions and ambushed him but my Warg was NO match for him, and I mean no match at all...He's a better player than I that am just a start but...there was no way I could ever try to kill him even if we same level.
Ok, then quest and try to kill people is very hard for starters...I asked people around the starter area if they didn't want to quest together perharps in group we had more advantage and I had no reply at all...I sent a tell, spoke on OOC, Trade and nothing! (There was people around). Ok, who wants to group with a starter I understand that...except there was other starters!
I tried contact tribe leaders to get in one and try to have some help but they had crazy requirements like know all the maps and so and I was like WTH means Stab? So of course I got quickly dispatched and It's ok I guess taking a weakling would make your tribe looks bad let alone the fact I'm new.
I found no way to advance as a creep, to fight or whatever, but I really like the system and I want to be in big groups killing. There was very good and powerful creeps that I saw and I wonder how they got there. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the answers.
Without knowing which server you are on it is difficult to provide any specifics on tribes. There are a few tribes that welcome any new player as well as those who are more selective. There are also warg only tribes on Brandywine as well.
There is a wealth of information to read about PvMP in the monster manual at:
As far as getting groups, if there's a creep-wide teamspeak or ventrilo server, try that. Generally the best tribes have minimum requirements to make sure they're getting quality people. You prove to be quality by being self sufficient and not a burden on the rest of them. Maps and rank requirements are indicative of that.
Plus you're just one of literally thousands of who come and go in the 'moors day in and day out, usually never to be seen again. Most tribes like to at least know you a bit before they invite you in. How many of the good kinships on PvE side have you seen open invite? The ones that last and have minimal drama don't do that.
Get out and learn, listen, ask politely in /ooc or /advice about things and remember this. Did you go up to just anyone in school and immediately become their friend and hang out with them? You generally want to make sure they're not a jerk, moron or a bully first before you do that. In essence, that's what most tribes do... sorting through the chaff for the best.
Would be great to know which server.
Generally it's about being lucky though and meeting the right ppl on creepside. When I started out I got picked up by a warg pack and invited into their tribe afterwards. It was sheer luck, meeting ppl who actually took care of new creeps.
Basically though, every server has some tribes that require a lot before you can join, but there are also tribes who accept everyone. I would give you a map over the place names, but playing a few different servers I've come to realize that many place names are different depending on which server you're on. So without knowing the server it's hard to know what things are called.
If you have trouble getting out of gramsfoot then try to look to the right. There's a path near the vendor that goes almost all the way to Dar Gazag (DG). Freeps can't enter that path, so as long as you're on it, you'll be safe.
On the tribes that didn't want you because you didn't know the maps and such. That I am really sad to see. A good tribe is a tribe that has room for veterans and new creeps alike and can help in a way so all in it benefit from it. In my tribe we regularly have groups up where there are no rank requirement at all. Also often pick up a few creeps outside the tribe if they look to be in need of help.
I think the sign that marks out a really good tribe is a tribe that can and will take in new creeps and teach them to eventually become as good as the veterans. I'd suggest you try to PvP a bit and ask for a group every now and then. Take note of any creeps who come to help you and which tribe they're in. That'll give you a good idea of which tribes have helpful ppl in it.
Joining a tribe is worth very little if they're not helpful. It doesn't matter if you're soloing in a tribe or outside a tribe, so that's why I'd suggest looking around and seeing who'll actually come to help when needed.
Duskdancer, warg: If found please return to Gwairin, lvl 65 hunter in Evernight
Dawnsinger, warg: Currently working as police dog in Moors with the Angmar Inquisition
If you look in my sig, I have quite a few servers with their specific map locations linked. Other servers are very welcome to update theirs.
As far as instant invites into tribes, that's why encourage finding a creep teamspeak/ventrilo. That is where new creeps can get to know, and be known by, the veteran creeps. A tribe does a disservice to itself by immediately inviting any Tom, Dick, and Harry that they see without at least getting to know them a bit, which is the point of my post.
I also have a post here http://dailystats.theblackappendage....ere-were-going where my thoughts on successful creep groups in the current 'moors and future on why I would say parsing through the new creeps is vitally important, at least on a server with any reasonable freep resistance.
Also we have a bevy of resources out there for new creeps that they need to read and learn. As both a raid leader and tribe leader since the beginning of LOTRO, I have seen thousands of creeps come and go. The key is to find the good ones and minimize wasted time on the ones who are destined to leave anyways. That's really why we built the monster manaul, we got tired of telling everyone the same thing 5x over
above advice posted is good. really you just have to stick at it. try to avoid fighting freeps while your alone for the first few ranks. also, which server are you on? if you are on brandywine, im sure i could help you out some.
honestly, just roaming around the map, discovering everything can be very helpful. i know it was to me when i first started. getting your 1 minute grams map should be a priority, as well as all other maps. just getting maps alone will get you a couple ranks, as it takes quite a few quests, and they all give a decent amount of inf. once you hit around rank 5 or 6, you will be much more effective as a warg.

Hi I’m a new Creep too (noob R5 Defiler started right after PvMP was offered to Premium players)
Just understand/accept that you can’t 1 vs. 1 sometimes can’t even 2 on one some freeps … but that’s ok because that’s how it works in LOTR (In the books, Movies, and in the Moors)
After that it only gets better, try to stay away from freeps and quest up a few ranks and try to know your way around, and get as many maps as you can Tol Ascarnen, Lugazag is a must!
And carry immunity potions!
GL … whenever I see a creep fighting a freep (Warg come outta stealth) I always try to skill-target-forward heals. Just show us some love too ^^
Get the plugin MoorMap from LotroInterface. Has the names of all the places and a small description of what they are. Plus you can search the names of places. Great for new players to the Moors
get your uhh improved stealth and %spead while stealthed thingy FIRST, you are just bait until you get that.. forget the name.
Ask other wargs for advice.
Do Not spam /ooc with "nobody will group with me", or "why can't i get in the raid", and "somebody help me" you are going to have to simply put in your dues. I would say expect to put in several nights of getting stomped and ignored until people start to recognize you.
Why you might ask?
Freeps roll creeps all the time, flirt a bit with creepside, realize it is very rough at the start and bail. Freeps roll spies as well. Until you put in your time, you are simply an unknown random player that might never log back in after that day/night.
Stick it out, again, it is very rough at the start, but well worth it in the end.

get improved flies, get a few more ranks and you will be an absolute monster in 1v1s... of course then the issue becomes people who will actually fight you instead of just giving you a wide berth while mounted.

I wouldn't do this. Not ANY raid. Some people on Brandywine simply spam invite anybody, and it's basically the same as being ungrouped except you get less infamy.

If your on a server without consistent raids or a creep-side vent(which to my knowledge is everywhere except brandy and E?) then my advice to you is simple. Questing. Every quest you can do, as the map allows. You need infamy and commendations and killing freeps until r5 or 6 is quite the task. If your feeling courageous after a few ranks, I suggest keeping tabs on grothum, an area where freeps can quest. You can sometimes find newer freeps doing quests in that area, whom you might match up better against with a couple npcs on em.
Prepare to earn your stripes and keep your chin up. Happy hunting.

E has a creep wide TS3 server. We also do have quite a few raids recently, however we tend to only raid when the freeps raid up so that they aren't scared off (freeps are afraid of us big bad scary looking creeps :P).

I guess I should have qualified that with: and learn to recognize who to avoid grouping with
