Thread: Pits of Isengard and Haul-tagur

Hi, I am looking for Haul-tagur which supposedly drops from the pits, but I haven't seen it drop once yet.

Does it really drop there ?

Is there a specific boss, or should we just complete the instance to see if it pops up ?

I am in half a mind to just keep killing the first boss which is a bit faster than the two others, just to go faster.

BTW, I mostly run it on T2C, should I do more T1 runs (does it drop at all in T2)?

We had it drop from the acid troll the other night on T2, so it is most assuredly in the T2 lootlist.
However, for speed your best bet is most likely farming it on t1 (overall it was a great run for us, I got my Sarchol swap and the tank got his neck swap)

It drops on both T1 and T2 from acid side. My guess would be that it has around a 30% drop rate, I have seen it a good few times. Remember it is BoE so check AH. If you were on laurelin I would send you one for free as I have a spare in the vault.

Thanks for the detailed answer and the offer. I created a thread in my server exchange forum but it is probably the least populated server, and it seem that pits isn't run much. I tried it again last night with no luck, I will try T1 again next time to see how much faster we are now that we know it so well we could run it blindfolded (almost).

I got mine from a random T1 acid run.

The usefulness of this necklace is somewhat diminished with U6. There's a new crafted neck that's 70-something vit, 230-something morale, over 1k inc healing and 690-ish each phys and tact mit. So, not quite as tact-mit heavy as the pits neck, but definitely better overall stats (keep in mind that the vit on the new neck adds a decent chunk of tact mit too, so the gap isn't as huge as it seems).
