A festival revolving around chickens could be very good. Pve and pvmp potential.
People running around as chickens doing raids.
Chickens deserve some revenge for the evil camping that the creeps did a few years back.
La Nina strikes Middle Earth! That's okay, spring just wants to be fashionably late and make an "entrance." It does that in reality, too.
Yep, we generally don't start planting our flowers until late May because until then there is still a chance for frost. Nice to see that the festival will coincide with that - but I hate waiting!
I think they have alot more planned besides the events and since we are talking about events according to a earlier post about events something will be happening this easter
Treebeard: You must understand, young Hobbit, it takes a long time to say anything in Old Entish. And we never say anything unless it is worth taking a long time to say.
So, just wondering, did the Anniversary Festival's extention and the impending release of U7 affect Springfest's timeframe at all? Spring only has about 5 more weeks, after all...

There's a calender tab at the top of the page with the Spring Festival tentatively slated for May 23rd, also the new Farmers Faire on July 18th and the Summer Festival on August 15th...........all subject to change but it's a good guideline.
As a mount collector, I'm getting rather annoyed with some of these festivals...
First, the 2 day unannounced, not on the calendar Treasure hunt event which I missed completely and has 3 mounts available... Is this coming back, and if so, when?
With the spring festival, we had the flower picking event with a rare horse... Although there were many reports of lucky b*@&#^ds getting the mount on the first couple of boxes, there are a number of people who grinded flowers for HOURS and got nothing. I myself spent roughly 6-8 hours picking flowers at roughly 20 boxes per hour... What did I get? Nothing (well, few dyes I used on my wardrobe...).
At least with the envelopes during the anniversary event I could cycle through 10 characters in less then an hour and open my 5 envelopes... This event was extremely tedious with far too low of a chance to get the mount. Even the skeleton horse from the fall (admittedly once a day attempt) has a better chance of dropping, and you can camp toons at the chest and just swap through them.
While I understand Turbine needs something for us to sink our time into, the rewards have to be at least partially worth the time spent... This is the first time ever playing LOTRO that I wanted to script my play... (No, I didn't)
This is turning into an off-topic rant now... My real question was in paragraph 2....
Yay! Festivals are one of my absolute favorite parts of LotRO, and one of the things that always has me returning. I really appreciate that Turbine knows not every gamer wants to be killing stuff all the time.
The summer festival was supposed to start today (August 16, 2012) but nothing has happened as planned on the schedule (calendar). Has there been a change of plans or did it get forgotten?

Ummm...it's listed as tentative on the calendar. Which means MAY start. All festivals have are listed as tentative actually. And there has been no official announcement as to when Summer Festival will begin. But, I would guess we won't see it till next week at the earliest given Farmer's Faire was delayed a week (if I remember correctly).
