    Wallet Barterer

How about an NPC trader that will exchange any and all premium wallet items for 1s. Ie 1 rusted dwarf tool for 1s, 5 rusted dwarf tool for 1s, 10 rusted dwarf tool for 1s, 25 rusted dwarf tool for 1s.

This would give me a way to dump stuff I don't want stuck permanently in my wallet (read festival tokens and low level barter stuff I may accidentally gather on my travels thru middle earth) without having to add a delete feature to the wallet.

It would probably be less costly to add a generic delete than a new barter entry for every item.

This biggest difficulty will be convincing that it is useful change. People will accidently destroy their barter items. They will complain on the forums. They will send in tickets to the Game Masters wanting their stuff back.

If it was me making the decision, I would not make the change because of the increased load on customer service and on the forum moderators dealing with angry customers that do dumb things.

    AW: Wallet Barterer

Barter your dwarf tools for weapons and sell those.
The silver/iron/... coins from the festival drops you can already trade in at the NPC standing before the hunting lodge in Bree.

I get 50 to 100 silvers for selling the legendary items on the auction hall. A lot people on Meneldor would spam Moria trade channel. Tell me what you want. Only 50 silvers each COD.

The dwarf tools may have been a bad example. I believe there are many items that require multiples of to trade meaning you could be left with 1 of them clogging up your wallet. Or you have to go and earn the exact amount to make a trade without going over in order to get them out of your wallet. Not to mention you would have to travel to the relevant area to trade/de-clutter your wallet. All of which seem to be a PITA just to get rid of #### you don't want.

Add a "Items deleted are permanently gone" confirmation box and flatly refuse to return items. No more load on customer service.

Edit: the word it filtered was not a profanity. Bizarre filter. It rhymed with trap.

Your confirmation box would not stop the increase in requests for reimbursements and bug submissions.

trap spelled with a c is profanity, filter worked fine for that example. ... it is horrible in other places though.

    I would much rather have a <barter item> => <skirmish currency> type trade than <barter item> => <gold>

The reason for the wallet is that you are not wastng a valuable inventory slot you could use for something else. You keep the 1s until you get enough to do something with. You can't reuse the wallet slot for anything else.

Do you throw out a penny in Real Life? You can't buy anything with a penny that I know of. I collect pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters until I can buy something. Or I have enough to make it worth visiting one of those coin counting machines. Or I roll them up and take them to a bank.

We have been doing this all long with coppers and Destiny Points. Same thing with Turbine Poiints. Oh boy I got five whole Turbine Points.

I wonder if/how all the extra pennies that our characters are now carrying around will impact performance. With players having the possibility of having up to at least a 100+ in the wallet that were not tracked previously with a character, does that add to the load times and/or times to transfer when travelling zone to zone? I'd imagine the amount of data tracked in the wallet to be smaller compared tracking bags full of LIs, but I'm always curious.

As for getting things out of the wallet, we'll see where things will stand over time. Items such as Ivar's Banner from GA, Angmar coins/armour barter, Naruhel's Dress, taxidermy barter, etc. are the things that will probably clutter up barter wallets. Unintentional items gained while doing other things (such as GA runs for Eglain rep, Uru/CD runs for quest items and/or deeds, etc.) that in the past were vendored/destroyed or what-not will probably just sit in the wallet until the player pro-actively travels to a specific location to use/barter.

Waaaay off topic: Never take your change to a coin counting machine - you lose part of your money to pay for the machine. It's more efficient to roll up your coin and take them to the bank - especially when you can get coin sleeves from the tellers =)

A delete feature is something I would definitely like to see for the premium wallet.

Taxidermy tokens and even all the Rusted Dwarf/Khuzdul tablets are OK...but the landscape tokens from a variety of regions is just plain annoying. You might be able to travel and barter for things with them, but you could just be stuck with 1 or 2 sitting in the wallet, unable to to anything with.

if turbine makes it possible to select a item/mark in the wallet.
and add a destroy button, problem solved that way i think? :$
