Thread: Okay, what's your problem?

I can tolerate the dying: if I couldn't I'd have left The Moors a long time ago. I can tolerate being squishy, and an easy kill. I can tolerate freeps getting pissed off with me when I don't do things their way. I can even tolerate being a laughing stock, if that's what I am.

What I won't tolerate is some dam creep logging onto his main and sending me an in game mail bragging about his kills on me!
That's just hitting below the belt folks. I'm not going to mention the creep's name or that of his main. You know who you are.

Is this what PvMP in The Moors has sunk to? Is one of you at least, so crapped out that you'd sink this low?

You know, I can expect this stuff in OOC or gmoors chat; we see it all the time and it never reaches the level of being personal. Well this mail I got takes the cake. This makes it personal.

I expect this from kin mates but yeah thats kinda a noobish thing to do.

Key thing is to not take it personally (which it usually isn't). Even if it were personal, it's not worth it. It's just a game (refer to my signature).

Jerks exist, there's no way around it. I remember one time I sparred a Champ with my Loremaster, leveled around the teens. After winning spar after spar, with the Champ even running away mid-session, this guy sends me mail. The most peculiar thing is that this guy was going on and on about how much better he was, and what a loser I was. Most odd behavior, fact being I had been the one winning very convincingly all along. What I did was politely respond with a threat of reporting if he did not cease ingame harassment such as that. Haven't heard a peep from the guy ever since, and put him on my ignore list for good measure.

The Ettenmoors seems to permeate with a greater cesspool of such a-holes that have nothing better to do than to create negative vibes for others to suffer for. There's a reason I have five times as many individuals on my ignore list from the Moors, compared to that from my main character. Somehow, the region seems more peaceful with the problematic people on mute. Ironically, it consists of some higher-ranked creeps who have freep mains, who developed a low tolerance threshold for newbies. Somewhere along the way, they lost sense of humility and kindness, but that's another matter.

Keep hunting out there, Braydan. Thanks for the visit to my address, by the way. I'll see if I can hook it up with gear, if I can manage to craft critical versions of medium armor, that is. For what it's worth, I consider you to be one of the better freeps here. Reason being, it takes a lot of bravery to fight in the Moors for the pure fun of it, rather than mostly star-hugging. If I ever go VIP, I'd duo with you on my Captain. I'd find it more meaningful to fight how one wants to, even if it means dying many times along the way. Point is to have fun. Take care.

Just put him on your ignore list Braydan. I'm always shocked when someone sends me tells about gunning for them or that they are so good cause they killed me. There are literally only 2 creeps that I actually feel I must kill before anyone else and thats Epopdaed/Stynak and Mordorz, and I like both those guys lol. Otherwise I just zap whatever is in range.

I've also put up with a creep telling me that I am the worst RK on the server for 10 minutes straight because he's killed me before in RaidvRaids (Congratulations, around 1000 other people have done the same).

There are a lot of "interesting" people out in the moors, just ignore them and keep doing things your way.

Lol, Brayden....easy fix, just consider the source and move on. Like Mav said the moors seem to bring out the very worst in some people.

brayden dont feel bad I get tells all the time about people crying over me ganking them or GV/rez camping them over and over. Its what people do lets put it this way the person that sent you the tell prolly rly sucks him/her self and because they can kill a squishy hunter and even the fact that they brag about it meens that they prolly cant solo any thing or one else. I will tell you what send me a tell when I am on nobuddy and we will go hunt them tell they rage quit

Play your game Braydan the way you want and when you want. Ignore the rest. People constantly tell me what I should do and how to do it. I probably do too and for that ./sorry everyone. My hunter, rk and spider are fail in many people's opinions and squishy too, but just here for fun. You do not run away like a chicken and that I do admire ./salute Braydan the Fearless.

Does the ignore list block the mail as well?

Braydan your absolutely one of my favorite people to see in the moors, both on my warg and my warden. (my warg more cause i want to get the man slayer title xD) and my warden because i'll never forget the time I was running from the creep group behind me and you rode in and dismounted and tried to do something. not sure what i just remember you being overwhelmed by the group. It was so funny to me that I was laughing so hard I started crying. And i mean that in a good way. nice to see some brave freeps out and if you've noticed I started wearing the old warden pvp set just because i think it looks cool. Point it, ^^ just ignore the guy and have fun. Don't stop being one of the better people out there.

Honestly most people on creepside have a lot of respect for you Braydan, it takes some balls to solo as a hunter, some never learn to. For a looong time it'll feel like banging you're head against the wall, hell, for like 3 months I was known as "The Statue" But you'll fine tune your rotation, you'll get better at movement, you'll learn to react accordingly and the game will slow down for you. At some point it'll click and when it does, you'll feel like it all payed off; at least that's how I felt after I realized I could solo the better creeps on the server.

Until then, they'll call you a goldtagger, noob, etc but just brush it off because being a solo hunter is probably one of the most difficult things to do in the moors. Just some hunter to hunter advice, send mail to me in game if you wanna talk. I always like talking shop with fellow hunters, probably because I like stroking my ego.

Sorry some people take the game too seriously and want to take others' fun away. Don't let that be what you take away from the moors, most people are good but some will try to ruin it. Good luck out there, it's a dog-eat-hunter world.

Really good advice from both sides here. Don't let some jerk ruin the game you want to play. It ain't personal til he shows up in your yard irl...then just let Mr Winchester explain some manners to him!

Apparently it does not, considering I've received mail from this creep's main since. But, it's all good. I'm moving on. You all are a great support group. When I started this thread it was late, I was tired, and pissed. A bad combination, I know. No regrets for posting it though.

I just want The Moors to be the one place in LOTRO where what happens in The Moors stays in The Moors, you know? Say what you want in a tell or in chat, then get back to fighting this war... Don't bring stuff out of The Moors unless invited to do so. That sort of thing.

All nice things have been said, so I can safely add that I find it funny that one of the first things you managed to learn was stun camera "trick".

It's alright to vent one's frustrations, so this thread definitely has a place in this section of the forum. I've raged before, and it helps to get things off one's chest.

In spite of getting my account hacked two days ago, I'll stick around to see if any resolutions come about. Pending that, I'll specifically stay on my creep, and take greater pleasure in destroying freeps that I don't trust.

People that log onto their main to brag/rage are almost invariably really bad at the game in general.

....so tempting to name names. But not worth it.

So if it happens just lawl@them for being nubs. What's important is having fun. If running around in Berserker mode seeking a glorious passage into Valhalla is your idea of fun, then more power to you, I'll see you there!




Also, the pvmp is a lot more fun if you specifically target your kinmates' creeps. When you get a kinmate making nub-rage forum posts about it, you know you've won. LOL!!!

Do it for the lulz and you'll never be sore.
