More info about the micro-transactions in GW2 and I'm hoping this can remain a separate conversation as the fan discussions have bearing to LOTRO as well.
I'm particularly interested in this statement:
We also like the tradability of gems and gold because it makes the rest of the game’s economy more compelling. We’ll have a player-to-player Trading Post in the game—it’s like an auction house but better
I.E. purchased currency for in game transactions are barter-able with in game money AND with other players.
I find the concept interesting too, though it seems like they may have overdone it with a 3rd kind of currency. After seeing several other methods for microtransactions, I like the LOTRO model best for the simple reason that I have never seen a gold seller.

I've seen the gold sellers in LOTRO, but its never random... its when they find a loophole and spam endlessly until the loophole is closed. So for a period of a week, I saw about 100, but then didn't see one for a year or two.
The part I missed is how they think this will curb hacking (to fuel RMT outside of game). IMHO, it would increase it, or at least increase the desire/attempts at doing so. In other words, there is more value and incentive to hack based on potential real life cash you could obtain. So, I'm very curious to hear more about why hackers wouldn't thrive in this system.
