Thread: Chicken Runs

I'm interested in forming a chicken run for the Crosser of Roads title. Saturday, March 31st starting around 10 AM PST for Free Range.
Keep in mind that Free Range requires you to have done ALL the other chicken quests (you can't just show up and expect to tag along for credit). It's also a long run, something like 6 hours. We have 8 hour to complete the run.
Please either post here or send me an in-game mail for those who are interested. You'll have to show me your Cloak of the Cluck to join.
We do welcome spectators and escorts. We will need 3 or more escorts, each for about 20 to 30 minutes of assistance at specific points. If you can be an escort, send me an in-game message and we'll sort things out. Escorts will be paid in some form (gold, Worn Symbol, crafted items, you name it).

You may not know, there's a bug in the Free Range quest right now. It's made it into the Known Issues:

Chicken Play

The quest "Free Range" requires 500 commendations to begin. Previously, this quest only required 500 destiny points.

Thanks for the info, Clarrow! I can borrow some from my warg, but I suppose we could also do some Moors PvE to get ready.

Today when I finished getting to Rivendell and was given my cloak I was so proud. I couldn't wait to play as a 'golden' chicken. Then I learned that in order to play 'Free' Range it costs 500 commendation points. So basically we are required to monster play now if we want to continue chicken play. What a disappointment! First question: is it going to cost 500 commendation points every time we want to Free Range play? I hope the answer is 'no'.

So I did the monster play (against my will) so I can Free Range Play. Now I discover that none of my deeds are counting at all. Cannot talk to any of the animals and it doesn't matter how hard I hope on the stones: nothing. I see someone mentioned in this thread that there is a "Known Problem". So why doesn't Turbine just close the ability to do Free Range if it doesn't work correctly? Or at least warn the players? Does anyone have an idea when this might be fixed? After spending all this time doing the chicken quests and then being forced to do the monster play as well just to experience Free Range, I'm more than disappointed. Now I have 8 hours of 'chicken time' to burn, but with nothing to earn. :-/

FYI, everything is fixed now: it costs NOTHING to do Free Range stuff and the deeds are working correctly! Only thing is, there are now no rewards (well, except the Crosser of Roads title).

I really want to join (I already have the cloak).

But cause I live in another time zone. The time that we start will be 19 AM for me ...
And I'm not in the mood to play until midnight on a tursday.

They did, and now it costs 0 commendations to enter chicken sessions, and also completing any deeds awards no destiny/commendations. So really, there is no cost and no reward in doing the Crosser of Roads deeds except the Title.

I think the titel is the main raison why you should do that time-spending-doing-it-over-and-over-again-race.

Agreed, but I know prior to the commendations/destiny change some people used to do chicken runs to farm destiny points.
